Zoni are mysterious, robot-like creatures that have special abilities to manipulate time. They can travel backwards and forwards through time and would often either act as observers or interact with anyone whenever they feel that they need to. The Zoni have a hive-mind, so they tend to act as one, but when separated, they often behave scattered and disoriented. When they are alone, one much obtain a special vessel as a means to gather and rescue them.
They made their first appearance in Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. One showed up in Clank's dream, leading Clank towards a domed building in the middle of an unknown city at the time. Throughout the game, Clank was the only one who could see them and whenever he would bring them up, Ratchet wouldn't believe them, perceiving the Zoni as imaginary creatures, which caused tension between the duo. However after Tachyon used the Dimensionator to release his people, Ratchet finally began to believe that Clank's about the Zoni were real while taking Clank's word that what they told him about Tachyon being on Fastoon, the abandoned home world of the Lombaxes into consideration.
After Ratchet and Clank defeated Tachyon, the Zoni showed up in front of everyone with everyone being able to see them and took Clank away, ending Tools of Destruction with a cliffhanger and Ratchet without his best friend.
In A Crack in Time, it was revealed that a species within the Breegus System revered the Zoni as deities and protectors of time. Ratchet then received a Zoni vessel which enabled him to collect and rescue scattered Zoni, enabling them to use their abilities to fix his dismantled ship. They were scattered after Dr. Nefarious, who was brought to the Great Clock to fix Clank, turned on them and attempted to destroy them with the use of the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler. Since then, the Zoni population within the Great Clock drastically dwindled.
The Zoni were eventually returned with the help of Ratchet and they repaired the damages done to the clock.
Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles[]
The Zoni pretty much played the same roles as in the game series. They can also only be seen by Clank, however, Wade had been picking up on their readings, an indication that they aren't imaginary. Kim and Ron were able to believe that the Zoni are real from Wade's readings, but Ratchet remained adamant in not believing in them despite Wade and his findings always being accurate.
In the end of The Lombax Secret when Clank was taken, they were also able to somehow take Rufus .
