Volbeat (Japanese: バルビート Barubeat) is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Volbeat is related to Illumise and, starting in Generation V, can produce Eggs that contain either Illumise or Volbeat when bred with Ditto.
With the arrival of night, Volbeat emits light from its tail. It communicates with others by adjusting the intensity and flashing of its light. This Pokémon is attracted by the sweet aroma of Illumise. With other Volbeat, it uses its tail to draw geometric shapes in the night sky.
Ultimate Story[]
Rayman owns a Volbeat. It is an equal to Peach's Illumise.
Buttercup also owns a Volbeat with Blossom owning a Illumise.
