Commander Varvatos Vex is a major character of the Tales of Arcadia franchise, serving as the deuteragonist of 3Below and a major character of Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.
He is the commander of the Taylon Phalanx, the guardian/mentor of Aja and Krel Tarron, and the current love interest of Nancy Domzalski.

Act 3[]
Episode 14[]
At some point he was captured by paranormal investigators working with the F.B.I and was almost experimented on by Colonel Kurbitz. Vex reunites with Aja, Krel, Steve, Toby, Pepperjack and AAARRRGGHH!! who tell him what they were doing here and what they know on Kurbitz who was in league with Milton Midas.
He also meets Lincoln, Lydia, Jessie, James, Meowth, Alice and Guzma who are working with them and immediately agrees in a glorious way to break out of the holding facility.
Episode 15[]
Leading a glorious fight of a breakout operation, he attacks and brutalizes the rest of the Cartel guards who have them and he also puts his protection of the royal family as a priority. He delivers multiple heavy hits to them with AAARRRGGHH!! and Black Noir when Carmen and Juni find them.
When the base is about to explode, Varvatos covers all of them so they can escape from the debris and TNT. After escaping he decides he has to regain some ground before he joins back with the team and returns to China Town and joins back with the rest of the gang.
Episode 16[]
He joins with the rest of the team in their own investigation when it came to what Pyrrha and the gang looked into while saving June, Quirk and Drik. This later turns into a situation where He, Aja and Krel discover Kurbitz is returning back to deal with them and later discovers the Chickadactyls with the others where an investigation in what Midas has been doing leads to some purchases of their own
Episode 17[]
As an Alien, Vex is immune to whatever the food can do to them, something shared by Aja and Krel. Though it does lead to them realizing that Midas is poisoning his own customers with a specific item on the menu and an another discovery of the Payback Causalities that have been going on as of late.
These discoveries lead into fights with both Solider Boy and The Cartel which Vex takes part in and manages to protect the Royal Family from the Cartel and is able to clash successfully with Solider Boy who has come to kill Black Noir
Episode 18[]
Vex and the others get into one final conflict with Colonel Kurbitz which results in her arrest, before they go to save the Mitchells, Lopezs and Louds from being slaughtered for Milton's ambitions to serve them up which was he intends to do with the Chickadatyls as well. He once again engages against the Cartel though he is carrying 16's head as Solider Boy did manage to destroy 16's body where he and Krel are told by 16 to let him help to finish off the factory as while he may die as he's a head, living in fear is not a life for him and Krel and Vex recultantly comply with this.
The group gets some of Deathstroke's rat rot cure and they decide to use to insure quarantine is done and stop Midas from trying to engage in any more heinous actions.
Act 4[]
Episode 19[]
Judge Holden arrives to finish the score with the team and Vex gets involved this time and it allows the heroes to keep a upperhand on the sadistic judge which causes him to back off.
Episode 20[]
Afterwards, he joins with the rest of the team to go after Anton Chrieguth so then with the hit man out of the way, Midas will be much easier to deal with which Deathstroke states he has other guys on it. Regardless, Vex is willing to fight this puny human, though Solider Boy complicates things attempting to kill Black Noir again
Episode 21[]
He helps the team defeat Anton, though he does find himself having to listen to the others to spare Anton albeit heavily restraining him. Though he is killed regardless, this doesn't matter to Varvatos and helps destroy Chang's machine and protects Noir from enough go at Solider Boy's attempts at killing him.
Episode 22[]
Upon learning of Solider Boy's nuclear powers he runs into the fray to protect the kids and the Royal Family from him in case they caught in the inevitable blast and he succeeds. He shows respect when Lydia decides to use the gauntlets to hold down Solider Boy's blow up in the name of them and her partner, this he openly shows when she becomes conscious again.

He decides to head to the House of Tarron, to report their success of their mission they had which Pyrrha agrees to.

Book 1: Overture[]
Chapter 5[]
Aja, Vex and Pepperjack are engaging in war with The Zebron Brotherhood and Z9's forces when they receieve help from Krel, Toby, AAARRRGGHH!! and Steve who all escape and help deal with the rest of their forces with help from Marvin and Rocket Raccoon. This allows the team to all meet up with the rest of the heroes to deal with Ucumuu which Vex looks very much foward to due to his desire for combat
Chapter 6[]
Varvatos helps fight off Ucumu and is delighted to have such a worthy foe to fight him and the rest of his team. He does accept the help of his team and then has the others take charge of things to deal with him using his knowledge as a commander to help them and Team Free WIll defeat him. He is then invited to his knighting with the rest of the royal family using a disguise like Aja and Krel to do so.
Book 2: Interlude[]
Varvatos discovers Morando is coming and his allies are on the way to deal with him, as he had a fight with General Z9 before this and gets the rest of the resistance on the case with him or at least what he could find to help fight back against Morando and Z9. He is also playing a key part in assisting the heroes with this and upon discovering Galyan's Core he decides to insure Toby and AAARRRGGHH!! join him, Krel and Aja as they know the most about Troll Market.
Lincoln, Lydia, Ford, Bender, Luan, Anti Cosmo and WIle E also join them as well as they all go into Troll Market to find Gaylan's Core. This results in them having to deal with Zombie Gumm Gumms and Morando's own forces which the whole crew needs to fight to try and stop Morando. Despite the efforts Varvatos and his allies fail in their mission.
He then later makes amends for himself and is able to at least lead a successful rescue of the heroes and aids in defeating Morando and his Zebron Brother hood.
