Ultimate Story 2: Dinosaur Planet is a fanmade story for the Ultimate Story. It is Fanfictiondreamer's own rewrite of her favorite video game, Starfox Adventures. Fanfictiondreamer received Starfox Adventures in the Christmas of 2002 along with the GameCube and a few other games for it. She was hesitant about playing the game because of her history with its predecessor, Starfox 64, but as soon as she started playing it, she fell in love with it. It had been her all time favorite video game ever since.
Around the time that she was first playing it, her fanfic began forming in her head. A little after her dad gave her a few notebooks for writing her stories, she got to work on writing that story. She was so fixated on it that she held off the first Ultimate Story for several years.
The events of Ultimate Story 2: Dinosaur Planet were the same as in the game, but with a few changes and add-ins that needed to be made for the Ultimate Story, such as adding in characters from her story into the events of the game. The story itself does star Fox McCloud, the main hero of the game, but joining him on this journey are his friends, Misty, Bubbles, Princess Peach, Rayman, Banjo and Kazooie and Pikachu. They journey through the planet to save it from the tyrannical leader of the Sharpclaws named General Scales while trying to put the pieces back together.
Coming up with the different ideas for the story and making it work was a tough challenge all by itself.
Introduction[]
The story itself takes place approximately 8 years after the events of the first Ultimate Story. The main characters continue living their lives as they usually do. However, there have been a few changes, such as Falco leaving the team, D.W. aging to a teenager and a few other things. One regular day that Misty and her friends were visiting Fox and his team, Fox decided to leave Corneria and go on a journey through space. He was bored with staying on the same spot over and over again and wanted to go through the stars of their galaxy. Misty and the others tagged along and ended up staying with Fox a lot longer than they expected.
The Beginning of a New Adventure[]
After the narrator did a brief tour of the Great Fox's main room, General Pepper transmitted to them, giving them a new mission for them to tackle. Dinosaur Planet was in great danger as it was literally falling apart and that they needed to head to the surface to help put the pieces back together. Joining Fox on this mission are Misty, Bubbles, Princess Peach, Rayman, Banjo-Kazooie and Pikachu as they made their way to the planet as fast as they could.
Fox's New Weapon[]
The group managed to land on the surface of the planet in a small area known as Thorntail Hollow. As soon as they landed, they contacted the general who told them that they needed to look for the Queen Earthwalker, one of the rulers of a dinosaur tribe known as the Earthwalkers. Fox griped a little about not being able to bring his blaster with Peach and the General harping about him about how the blaster would not be a good idea to have and that he needed to try something different. Fox then griped to Peach how she was always nagging and breathing down his neck a lot, with her justifying her actions with her being his childhood friend, which did very little to ease his annoyance. Just then, Bubbles spotted something not too far from their location.
Within a flower patch was a mysterious metal stick that seemed to have been giving off a magical aura. When Fox removed it, he heard a message from it about the weapon. Fox had a moment with Misty after he complimented her voice sounding beautiful, with Peach not being able to resist commenting about it. A little afterwards, Fox used the staff to find the queen. From her, they found out that she had a son, a young Earthwalker child named Prince Tricky, who the group needed to rescue. In order to do that, they needed help from the Warpstone, who refused to help them unless they gave him a gift: a large Rock Candy. From there, he warped them to a place known as Ice Mountain, where they needed to go to rescue the young Earthwalker prince.
Rescuing Prince Tricky[]
When they were able to find the young Earthwalker prince, Misty and Bubbles were devastated to watch as 2 Sharpclaws were mistreating the poor dinosaur. The girls were then very adamant about rescuing him, to which Fox agreed to do. Their first objective was to try and open the cave that the Sharpclaws have chased him into. When they were able to do that, they confronted the Sharpclaws. But then, the prince ran out of the chase. Bubbles and Misty flew after them and Fox followed behind. Peach, Rayman, Banjo and Kazooie went after them with the use of their abilities and equipment.
He attempted to catch up to them, but when he caught up with the Sharpclaws, Misty, Bubbles and Tricky were nowhere to be found. A little afterwards, Fox drove off the cliff and fell into a hot spring along with Banjo and Rayman. Peach and Kazooie gently floated down. Tricky tried to say something to Fox, but he couldn't understand the young prince. With the help of Misty's translating powers, the prince began to make sense to him. From there, the group decided to try and find a way back to Thorntail Hollow through the new area. With the help of the young prince, they were able to find a tunnel within the Snowhorn Wastes that led them back to the hollow.
Helping the Queen Earthwalker[]
The group returned to the hollow to find the queen still in distress. Fox mistakened returning Tricky to the hollow as completing his mission, but he still had lots more to do, with which Peach nagged him about his mistake, much to his annoyance. Tricky told them to find white Grubtubs in order to heal her, but they only grow within the ancient well.
Upon arriving, Fox told Tricky to stay behind while his group descended into the well to find the mushrooms. However, Misty and Bubbles stayed behind because they didn't want to leave without him and Banjo stayed behind since he hardly ever leaves Misty. This temporarily broke the group in half as Fox went down with Peach, Rayman and Pikachu. After collecting the mushrooms, the group returned to the queen and fed them to her. After she recovered, she informed the group of what had happened to the planet. A terrible tyrant named General Scales was able to defeat the Earthwalker army at the Krazoa Palace, where he broke the seals of the Force Point Temples, which housed magical items called Spellstones. The planet consisted of a magical force that was so strong, it continued pushing the entire planet apart. But Scales entered the temples and removed the Spellstones, which caused the state that it was currently in. With their mission before them, they made their way to find the Spellstones in order to save the planet.
Their first objective was to find the first Gatekeeper, a Snowhorn named Garunda Te. They returned to the Snowhorn Wastes where he was imprisoned below a large sheet of ice. The girls attempted to break the ice with their super strength but was it tough to shatter. Sharpclaws came at them constantly. Fox and Tricky helped out by feeding Garunda Te Frostweeds so that he would be strong enough to help the girls out with shattering the ice. After they were able to free him, he told the group a sad story about his previous encounter with General Scales. Scales threatened to allow him to return the Spellstone to Darkice Mines, where it was forged or he would destroy the entire Snowhorn tribe. Garunda Te refused, but his daughter, Belina Te, decided to give in to the general's demands and opened the gateway. Scales then enslaved the entire tribe. Anxious about saving the tribe and getting the Spellstone, the group made their way to Darkice Mines after Garunda Te opened the gateway for them.
Hailfire Peaks 2[]
The group eventually arrived at the Darkice Mines. After splitting up and searching around the first part of the area, they eventually came across a Snowhorn who, after freeing her, pointed her towards the mines where the Spellstone was. She also seemed very concerned about Belina Te as she didn't blame her for the mess that she had caused. A little more in, they found a few Sharpclaws beating up another Snowhorn. The group saved the Snowhorn from them. The girls then noticed a large gate in the way and attempted to smash it open, but they failed to realize that it was made from a metal that they couldn't break, titanium alloy. The Snowhorn then noticed that Tricky was just about to learn his Flame command and after he breathed fire for the first time, the group used it to find some Alpine Roots for the Snowhorn so that he could regain its strength to help them out. After he was restored and smashed through the gate, the group then proceeded to split up and search the new area. From there, Bubbles was able to find a Sharpclaw cannon and had Fox use it to blast through the area. The 2 then discovered a cave where a strange-looking horn was found.
The group then proceeded into another area that was blasted by a fierce blizzard. Fox used the horn to summon a Snowhorn and it helped them through the blizzard. Tricky ran off with Misty and Bubbles chasing after him and they were lost in the blizzard. They continued on through and found a way to enter the mines with the use of another snowmobile. As Fox entered the mines, he nearly crashed the snowmobile but was rescued by Bubbles and Misty and the 3 had a happy reunion.
After Fox scolded them a little for rushing off, they told them that they found Tricky and Belina Te locked in cells, so they proceeded to find the keys to both cells. After freeing Tricky, they found Belina Te whom they asked where the Spellstone was. When she asked about her father, they told her that he mentioned how he felt betrayed by her decision and they were only sent to find the Spellstone. Belina, enraged, smashed through the wall of her cell and told the group to find another way to the bottom of the mines.
They found themselves within a waterfall cavern that mesmerized Misty before she and Fox became infatuated by each other, to which Peach couldn't help but take notice of. They then proceeded through the cavern and a bit more in until they reunited with Belina. She told them that Scales had hidden the Spellstone somewhere close by. The group then rushed off knowing that they had to find it soon. They split up and searched the large chamber. Bubbles found some barricade walls that she smashed through, causing a rocky bridge to appear. The bridge led to a Warp pad that took them into the final chamber of the mines. There, they found what appeared to be a massive ice statue of a monster but they also noticed it was holding the Spellstone in its icy grip. They asked Tricky to try to melt it down but they found out the hard way that it wasn't a statue, but a massive creature frozen in ice. After it was thawed out, it gobbled up the Spellstone whole.
Knowing that they were up against a massive problem in more ways than 1, Fox came up with a plan to retrieve the Spellstone. He had the girls beat up the monster while the guys got ready to crawl inside of it to try and find the Spellstone. After they entered the beast, they found the it inside the uvula of its stomach and blasted at it with their weaponry until it fell out. From there, they reunited with the girls with the first Spellstone in hand.
A little afterwards, they were back at the campsite with Belina Te and talking to her about her father. They felt that they should forgive her father and work together to lead their tribe against Scales instead of fighting each other, to which she agreed. The group then returned to the planet with the first Spellstone.
Into the Volcano...Force Point Temple, That Is[]
Fox and the rest of the group returned to the planet. They soon found a Thorntail waiting for them, telling them that the Sharpclaw have put out their beacons and asked them to relight them. The group decided to do that. As they were investigating the beacons, Bubbles was caught off guard by a tree on fire. When they went to check it out, they found that it was known as a Fire Weed Tree. From there, Fox came up with a plan to relight the beacons with the help of Misty, Bubbles, Peach and Tricky. After they carried out their plans, a Thorntail gave them a key to Moon Mountain Pass as thanks.
They made their way through Moon Mountain Pass, delayed by many obstacles, such as Oneros Aera, or Flight-Disable Gas; a fort; a few Life-Force Doors, to which one of them has spoken to the group; and finding a way through with the use of a new staff upgrade known as the Ice Blaster. A little in, they received a transmission from Peppy Hare and Blossom, informing them about what they had found out about the dark mystical energy within the planet.
Soon enough, they were able to reach the very center chamber of the Force Point Temples and placed the first Spellstone back into its slot. From there, they only had 3 more Spellstones to find and return to the temples.
Fox's Krazoa Spirit[]
As they were leaving the temple, they heard a voice crying for help. From there, a Krazoa appeared before them and told them the only way to save the person calling out for help is to collect the Krazoa Spirits and return them to the Krazoa Palace. The group decided to do that, but then the Krazoa informed them that a person cannot collect more than one spirit and must allow another to collect another spirit and so on and so forth.
The group continued their way through the Moon Mountain Pass until they found one of the Krazoa Shrines. Fox and Pikachu were decided to be the ones to collect this spirit. After they did, he and the group returned to Thorntail Hollow where the Warpstone can take anyone who has collected a Krazoa Spirit to the Palace. Fox and Pikachu made their way through and found the person who was in distress: a blue-furred vixen trapped in a large, floating crystal. He stared out at her for a while before moving on to release the Krazoa Spirit that he collected.
Welcome Back, Ocean Princess[]
After Fox returned from the Krazoa Palace, the Warpstone announced to the group that it was time for them to visit the seaside, which prompted Misty to talk dreamily about the ocean, or "talking ocean" as the group calls it.
They eventually made their way to the coast known as Cape Claw where Misty transformed into her princess form for the first time in a long while. Tricky witnessed this and was told about her true form. From there, Tricky had been kept up to speed on the secret.
A little while afterwards, they came to the aid of a Hightop who buried its gold to hide them from the Sharpclaws, but forgot where they were buried. From there, Fox, with the help of Misty, proceeded to seek out all 4 pieces of gold and had them returned to the Hightop. It then helped them out with their journey by revealing to them something that helped to unlock someone who was locked away. There, they met with the queen of the Cloudrunner Tribe after unlocking her. Tricky, however, was less than thrilled to meet a Cloudrunner. Kazooie was easily dazzled by her. The Queen Cloudrunner then told the group that General Scales forced her to use her gatekeeper powers to gain access to her fortress and intended on returning to help her tribe. The group decided to leave for the fortress as well. However, Tricky didn't want to go with them, so Fox decided to leave him on the planet until they returned. The queen made her way to the sky and opened the gateway to the Cloudrunner Fortress with Kazooie following after her, much to Banjo's dismay, until Rayman offered to fly him up there.
Before they could leave, Fox took notice of Misty and Bubbles being sad about not taking Tricky with them, so he decided to lend Pikachu to them for just a while. They then left for the fortress.
Trouble at the Ruins[]
Fox and his friends finally reached the floating island that consisted of the Cloudrunner Fortress. The entrance was locked as the Queen flew in. The group found a way into the fortress. The team met up with General Scales and his Sharpclaw gang, with the former demanding the Queen Cloudrunner on the whereabouts of "the fox and his friends." She only responded that they will find him and destroy him. He then threw her asunder allowing his troops to torment her. Kazooie was so revved up on saving her, then her friends intervened, only to be fallen by Scales' robots with their painful electric shocks, rendering them unconscious.
By the time Fox came to, he escaped from his cell and found a familiar Cloudrunner inside a large cage. He later found his staff which was guarded by a sleeping Sharpclaw. Knowing he'd be dead meat if the Sharpclaw should awaken, he snuck towards the back room. He made an attempt to comply to the message that Slippy sent him, that he had a disguise ready for him but he needed to clear the way in order for him to transport it. He destroyed the ceiling so Slippy's signal can go through and give him the Sharpclaw disguise. He was successful, and the guard woke up, ordering the "new cadet" to look after the prisoner while he goes on break. Fortunately, it was only Fox and he retrieved his staff which he then used to unlock his friends' cells. Misty and the others were cheerful, except Banjo who was bewildered with his empty backpack. Remembering the Cloudrunner in the cage, Fox knew where to go.
Realizing that the "Cloudrunner" in the cage was Kazooie, he was able to free their missing teammate. She was so upset she couldn't save the Queen and feels that she deserves the "rubber chicken treatment", as they call it, if she's freed. The group was confused by her. Kazooie was miffed on what Scales did to her, then mumbled that if only she'd tell her where the Spellstone is. Which greatly excited the group.
Unable to fly due to the immense amounts of the Oneros Aera, they could barely navigate the outskirts...until Misty and Bubbles used their jump ability to enable them to reach astronomical heights, much to Fox's extreme surprise. From there, they leapt out of the the dungeon and were able to find the queen. Thanks to a grenade egg aimed at the fragile floor beneath it, she was saved. The Queen wanted her to rescue her children who had scattered throughout the fortress upon Scales' invasion. Kazooie used her distinctive bird call to summon over the hatchlings and they reunited with their mom. The queen then went on to tell the group that Scales is in the treasure room.
Fox fired her staff, though a Sharpclaw was used as a shield. Then Bubbles leapt over to try and rip him apart, only to find that he had vanished in a maniacal laugh. The three Sharpclaws boarded each of their jet bikes and Fox went after them, bashing into each one in a circular track no less; which actually reminded Fanfictiondreamer of those racecourses from Diddy Kong Racing. He was successful, though his own bike malfunctioned. Before it crashed, he was saved once again by Misty. But he was disappointed the Spellstone was lost on impact. Luckily, Bubbles ran in holding onto it. Fox gave it to Misty as a special gift for saving him, knowing it was tinted blue.
Finally, they headed out of the Fortress and reunited with the Queen and her tribe. With Scales gone and her fortress saved, she made Kazooie as an honorary princess of the tribe, giving her a crown that was much like hers. Fox, before he left for the planet, asked about Misty's and Bubbles' jumping abilities, but they left abruptly, leaving him in anger. Nevertheless, the team headed back to the planet and to the Ocean Force Point Temple with the queen wishing them luck even though she only mentioned Kazooie.
Misty's First Spellstone[]
Fox and the others returned to the planet, and Fox was miffed to Misty and Bubbles on not telling him of their jumping abilities. They were bashful as they were petting Tricky, explaining to him that...they can't really explain how they got those powers. Fox understood, though he was still angry as they ran off on him and told them to not do it again, to which they agreed.
Soon enough, Fox, Misty, and the rest of the group arrived at Cape Claw where the Ocean Point Temple was located. Fox bashed a couple Sharpclaws saving an ungrateful Lightfoot. He tossed an orange gem toward Fox as a Sharpclaw was aiming his cannon toward it, then he tossed it back to the Lightfoot, then back again. The Lightfoot scurried away, then he gave Misty the treasure asking her to hide it. However, instead of hiding it away, she found another gem just like it. She figured these could be the way to open the Temple. As Fox placed one in each Krazoa head, they did, then he found Misty and Banjo-Kazooie and used a submerged tunnel, where they entered an underwater entrance to the temple then were sucked inside.
Fox and Banjo-Kazooie operated the Temple and solved some tricky puzzles, including one where the bear and bird had to use split pads to progress further. Along the way, it allowed Misty to travel through the underwater tunnels, until she was trapped beneath somewhere in a glass door, where she started bashing on the impenetrable glass. This grabbed the attention of her friends and Fox tried whacking it with his staff, but to no avail. He searched the rest of the temple, shot some hidden Fire Blaster switches, and found a warp pad he was unable to access. Misty was finally able to emerge from the water, but something was seriously wrong; she couldn't turn back into her human form. She begged Fox to leave her while he unites the next Spellstone; however, he knew he'd be unsuccessful. He knew that, even though they'd be unhappy, he must carry Misty while still holding the Spellstone. So, the trio went to the warp pad and soon enough they teleported toward the spacious chamber again. Misty returned her Spellstone.
Trouble with the Lightfoot Tribe[]
After returning from the temple, Misty found that she still couldn't return to her human form. So the group called up Peppy to help with this. He found that the water has been corrupted, therefore trapping Misty in her princess form, so he has Blossom send down some Purified Mystic Water. Misty left for Thorntail Hollow through some underwater tunnels that she would create with Banjo following with her. The rest of the group made their way back on land.
The group were making their way back to Thorntail Hollow when they were stopped by a baby Lightfoot. Fox went over to help the little guy when he was ambushed by the Lightfoot tribe and knocked unconscious. When he awoke, he found himself being held by the tribe as they were accusing him of stealing from them. He tried to set them straight, but they were unwilling to listen to him. Bubbles then flew in to help and used Pikachu to convince the tribe to release Fox. After the ordeal was settled and Fox was released, Peach and Rayman reunited with them. They were told that the Mystic Water was dropped off at another location by accident and had spent all that time trying to find where it went. They eventually found that it had been dropped within the village that they were in. If that wasn't bad enough, the Lightfoot tribe found it and getting it back from them would be a challenge to say the least.
When Fox went to confront the leader of the tribe about it, he was unwilling to give it back and plans to dump it. However, Fox, after some heartfelt convincing, managed to get him to reconsider. However, Fox had to take some tests in order to get it back. Fox protested at first, but the chief stood firm to his decision. The tribe didn't believe that he could do it, but Misty encouraged to take on the challenges for her, so he did.
He took both the tracking test and the strength test and after passing both, the tribe presented him with the water. Fox took it and used it to restore Misty to her human form. The spectacle of Misty restoring her powers was so mesmerizing to the Lightfoot tribe that the chief went on to tell them about the secret that they have been hiding in their village: the entrance to another Krazoa Shrine. However, they didn't know how to open the way to the warp pad, so Misty and Bubbles offered to help. After prying the door open, Fox went on to enter the shrine but had Misty come with him since he can't take the next test, which meant that Misty had to do it. From there, the duo warped to the shrine.
Misty's Krazoa Spirit[]
When they got to the shrine, Misty had been feeling some strange energy, not from the Spirit, but also this phase of hers in which fairies can still sense magic even with some of their powers stripped away. They finally progressed through thanks to some tremendous teamwork, then she faced the Spirit which sacrificed her magical and basic abilities, instructing her that she must pass the Test of Fear. Without knowing, Misty was being surrounded by pirates, and despite her fears and when she was about to give in, Fox was always there for her whilst giving her unrelenting support. By the time she was able to defeat the pirates and overcome her fear, she was able to absorb the third Krazoa Spirit. From there, she and Fox made their way to the Krazoa Palace where she released it.
The King's Secret[]
After returning from the palace, Misty and Fox heard voices and went to a cave in Thorntail Hollow near the waterfall where the Warpstone was. They found that Bubbles and the others managed to save a Thorntail and her nest from predators while they were gone. She rewarded them with a location for a new staff upgrade and Fox retrieved it. Peach then decided to meet with the Queen Earthwalker. When they did, she informed them that Tricky's father has been taken to Walled City; apparently, he was the Gatekeeper to the next Spellstone, so he's been out of reach and can't open the way. There was still hope, however, as she explained that when the Earthwalkers defended the Krazoa Palace against Scales he hid his gatekeeper powers behind a door that can only be opened by Fox's staff. It was at that location as to how and why she was brutally assaulted by the Sharpclaws and abducted Tricky. With that, his Gatekeeper powers were released into the air, opening the way to their next destination. Before leaving however, the queen asked Peach to tell the king that she misses her, to which Peach happily agreed to do.
The City of Day and Night[]
The team approached Walled City only to see the perimeter being patrolled by hungry, monstrous T-Rexes called Red Eyes. Bubbles gladly volunteered to beat up one of them, and she stated proudly that she was the greatest, even better than 20 Buttercups, showing that she has really grown a lot throughout the years. After she beat up one. Peach intervened and reminded the group to look for the king, to which the others conceded as they knew that's what needed to be done. They searched the are and came across a strange door. With their dedication and teamwork, they were able to solve the tedious puzzles opening the hatch and revealing the imprisoned Earthwalker! Tricky was so ecstatic to see him alive and well, unfortunately, he doesn't have the Spellstone, but he does know it could be. They needed to find the two sacred fangs in order to open the way to the Red Eye's lair. Bubbles clobbered the rest of Red Eyes while the team searched for them; she already got one from all the dinosaurs she beat up while the team found the other. With the teeth reunited within the statue mouths, they allowed safe passage, only for Fox to rush in.
The door slammed behind him, while another doorway opened up to unleash the King Red Eye. When he found a barrel generator, he used a pressure plate which activated electricity, shocking the oncoming predator! With him down, Fox threw the explosive onto it! As it rose, Fox retreated and repeated the process, until the T-Rex was comatose. With that opportunity, Fox plucked the Spellstone with the staff from his head, but just before he was about to get eaten, Bubbles beat the carnivore to the punch! He retrieved the Spellstone, and Misty made an emotional reunion. Soon, they met up with the King Earthwalker congratulating them. He offers to stay until the city reunites with the planet, and Peach told him that the Queen misses him; Fox wouldn't want this to happen to him and Misty. Peach was about to remind them again of their relationship till Fox interrupted. They then left and returned to the Planet.
Banjo's Krazoa Spirit[]
They reunited the Spellstone into the Volcano Force Point Temple at Moon Mountain Pass, then returned to the Hollow. When they did, the (ever infuriating) winged creatures rose from the well and attacked the Thorntails. Everyone pitched in to defeat them and Kazooie mocked the poor dinos for never defending themselves. Fox was so dismayed by her behavior that he couldn't help but verbally express it, to which Kazooie response that she only listens to Misty. However, Misty repeated exactly what Fox said to her, to which Fox proudly announced that Misty was on his side, much to Kazooie's annoyance. As a reward, one of the Thorntails gave the group a large Scarab bag; Banjo figured it was enough to buy 5 of the Store's most expensive artifact, but through a shake, Fox noticed it could buy one. Perplexed, Banjo let Fox lead the way.
At the shop, Shabunga was getting rather impatient. Everyone was looking for food, while Banjo was anxious to find some honey, a product he hadn't eaten since Adeleine left for more paint. Shabunga grew more bitter as the honey bear was desperate for his fill, which caused him to threaten to ban the honey bear. Misty attempted to alleviate the situation, but couldn't so she left with Banjo. Fox was having problems fitting the Snowhorn artifact into his backpack, according to Shabunga. Since this was a rare, mysterious artifact, every dinosaur would trample them for it, so everyone's bags were occupied, excepting Banjo's. Kazooie, on the other hand, pouted as it would be too stuffy in there and her beautiful crown when sharing that space with the artifact. Fox got into an argument, as she accused him of his jealousy, though he's known Misty and Peach longer than Kazooie's royalty. After that, she flew off in a huff and temporarily broke off from the team. The rest of the group left her be and continued on with the quest. Peach whispered to Shabunga to make something special for Fox and Misty for 50 Rupees; she promises to give it to her as soon as the planet's together.
They wound up back in the Snowhorn Wastes. He said the last time they were there, he heard a blue Snowhorn complaining he lost something valuable to him. He knew exactly what it was as soon as he got to the store again. Banjo took it out and the beast thanked him, while also giving him an excruciating challenge through his own obstacle course. He stomped for a pad to rise up and declared it'll begin with the call of the Snowhorns. Banjo was given the horn by Fox and his blew the horn, commencing the tracking test. He needed it to lose some weight anyways, and he was successful, just barely failing to beat their time, even with the ice, frigid streams, and without assistance from Kazooie's Talon Trot. With that, he was rewarded passage to their own Krazoa Shrine.
Fox, Misty, and Banjo entered it, although she had to hold the bear since he was exhausted from the challenge. They continued through until they reached the very end where Banjo took on the Test of Strength, to which he took it with a Sharpclaw; it was a cinch since Banjo was the most strongest, heaviest member of the team! The honey bear was now the keeper of the 4th Krazoa Spirit.
When they got to the Hollow, Kazooie was waiting for the group, though she showed no remorse to Fox from the fight earlier. Regardless, Fox, Misty and Banjo used the Warpstone, entered the Palace, and ventured thru it till Banjo released the Spirit.
The Final Gatekeeper Revealed[]
The Warpstone then stated they are now ready to head to Dragon Rock, their toughest challenge yet. Unfortunately, they never knew who the Gatekeeper was. He said he's closer than they realize...
“He who has no voice has plenty to say.”
They were so confused with the riddle, though Blossom was able to help them out. They soon recalled one of the Thorntails who never wanted to talk to them as he kept on munching grass. They went to him and after Kazooie demanded to talk to them, he revealed that the reason why he didn't talk was because he was guilty and ashamed of what he had done. He unleashed an army of dinosaurs against Scales' forces, but he failed as the tyrant found out before they got a chance to act; as a result, 3 of his buddies were captured in Dragon Rock and hid the Spellstone there. Scales actually let him go, and it was revealed he's the last Gatekeeper! He opened the way, the other Thorntails followed, and the team headed out.
The Quest for the Last Spellstone[]
As they were landing, the Arwing was being electrocuted by Dragon Rock's defense system, as did Misty, Bubbles, and Peach, then Banjo and Rayman. Bubbles was able to save Tricky while Fox was pulled out by Misty, but they were shocked all at once and fell to the ground while the Arwing exploded!
They recovered from the incident and Blossom and Peppy broke the news. He said as long as they stay on the ground they should be safe, otherwise they're stranded till the security system is shut down. Kazooie threw up a Clockwork Kazooie bot and had it wander around the area for a brief few seconds. It exploded as it left a hole thru a giant that held an Earthwalker captive. They rescued him and he was relieved his Thorntail friend is OK; however, not the Hightop. He motioned toward a tower that was being guarded by 4 robots with their invincible shields; as long as the generator is disabled, they can save him. Fox and Misty guessed if their abilities can do the trick, but the Earthwalker volunteered. They climbed aboard and he prepared himself to "do some damage!"
The Earthwalker bashed his way thru and with his hard head and Misty's X-Ray vision, they were destroyed. Misty and Fox took the front and destroyed the sentinels allowing a door to open. The Hightop couldn't break the ropes, nor Misty with her lasers. Fox used his Fire Blaster to disable the switches and he was free; he then carried them to save a Cloudrunner. As he was heading out, missiles were shot out! Misty and Fox protected the dinosaur, like a lame Disney ride with a Fire Blaster and lasers...
The coast was clear and the Hightop activated a code with his head which opened the metal door. The duo went inside and approached a cage hung by a rope imprisoning the Cloudrunner. Misty decided to let Kazooie handle it as the true Cloudrunner princess as she summoned her with her signature bird call. She pouted she wouldn't save her subjects, but Fox stated he knows about being a princess since he knows one for so long, particularly Peach. He and Peach figured Kazooie wasn't good enough to be the honorary princess, then she caved and decided to free the Cloudrunner. She shot a few fire eggs saving the Cloudrunner. He asked if they knew Krystal since he flew her to the Krazoa Palace before Scales found and captured him here. He also needed their help to deactivate the system, as he claims it can activate on unidentified life forms than dinosaurs. Fox said he and his friends were almost killed, but he's confident that the spires can be taken down as he needs to stretch his wings. Misty volunteered to come along instead of letting Fox take the fight alone.
The trio were successful, and the Fire Blaster and lasers upon the Cloudrunner was like a great Disney ride! They entered the structure from the top and encountered Scales' mutated creation, Drakor. With Fox's Fire Blaster and Misty's agility while throwing Fox in for close combat, he was taken down and they retrieved the Spellstone. Fox appreciated Misty going with him while saving and riding these dinosaurs; he enjoyed it very much as it was just the 2 of them, Misty confirmed the same.
They met up with the others and Slippy sent an Arwing thanks to ROB now that the defense systems are down; however, this was the only one they have left. So, the team went back towards the planet.
Final Spellstone in Place, is it Over?[]
They immediately went back to Cape Claw's Ocean Force Point Temple; however, it was barricaded. Thankfully, Kazooie used her grenade egg to blast it open and she, Misty, Fox and Banjo returned to the submerged tunnels. They were sucked inside again and wound up back inside the temple. Banjo activated the 9 panels and Fox treaded on them to complete the puzzle. He did the same thing with Kazooie out of his pack, then climbed the wall, and took the warp pad. Banjo checked on Misty who was trapped underwater again. After Fox solved a few puzzles and shot a few switches, she was free. She dunked underwater and unlike last time, her transformation was activated back to her human form. They took the warp pad and met up with their friends, to which Peach informed they unexpectedly warped here as they relaxed on the beach; probably to see them reunite the planet with the last Spellstone. They did and they watched as a hologram showed the planet pulling itself back together. The group was overjoyed, but before they can truly celebrate, they saw the planet hologram split apart once more. Peppy informed them that there was a Krazoa Shrine at Walled City. Tricky then remembered that, but he forgot to tell his friends about it. The group returned on to the shores and made their way back. But before they left Cape Claw behind, Misty gave a long glance at the shores before she left.
They met up with the Queen Earthwalker at the hollow who was alarmed that the planet was still not back together yet even though they returned all of the Spellstones. They then realized that they needed to collect the last 2 spirits before the planet can be repaired, so they must go back to Walled City. Peach urged them along and they were on their way and they left for Walled City again.
Princess Peach's Krazoa Spirit[]
They reunited with the Earthwalker and thanked them for their success, only to have Fox frustrated it was all for nothing. However, the king reminded them that the Stones stopped the magical energy, but the Spirits would repair the planet. In order to enter the shrine, the moon and sun stones must be reunited; Fox, Pikachu, Misty, and Bubbles went for the lunar temple while Peach, Banjo-Kazooie, and Rayman went to the solar temple since there wasn't much time to collect them both. They did just that and Peach and Rayman decided to take on the next test.
While there, they did the Test of Knowledge since Peach was the brains (and beauty) while Rayman was the brawn, but they must solve it within a time frame. They worked together, and they passed it seamlessly. Peach took the front and absorbed the fifth Spirit!
They reunited with the King, but sadly, Tricky had to stay. Bubbles never wanted to leave him behind, so Fox decided that they can stay there so she can spend as much time with Tricky as she wants. She was excited with the offer. Until then, they had 2 more Spirits to go, so they headed back to the planet.
Now Arriving, Final Destination: Rocket Tower Plaza Station, err I Mean, the Krazoa Palace[]
Believe it or not, Fox decided to use his new Arwing to approach the Palace, and they all went thru it till Peach released her Spirit. They returned to the roof and found a warp pad...only to be halted by Dannis Life-Force Door, another Life-Force Door. Much like Danno, it was taunting them all the while. However, they didn't notice till they heard a voice to look behind them. He smirked that they must defeat the ultimate enemy to get passed him. Fox questioned why he kept calling them worms, but he disregarded it.
They climbed a ladder to an arena and Scales descended and challenged them, as they may had the Spellstones but his plan is far from over; Misty remarked that his army is already in flames. Scales retorted and closed in for the kill, but a strange, familiar voice interrupted, saying he's of no use to him. He forced Scales to give up the Krazoa Spirit he left inside him as he fell to the ground while being surrounded by a few Sharpclaws, the Krazoa Spirit then flew into Bubbles. At the same time, Dannis faded saying the usual phrase, "My life is meaningless....", but no one cares about him.
The Final Enemy Revealed[]
They warped back to the Palace and Bubbles released the Spirit to a head they never saw before. As she did, the Spirits suddenly went haywire and entered the giant crystal and into Krystal's body. Fox and his friends watched in terror as they had no idea what was happening. The spirits then flew out Krystal and into the giant head of the Krazoa statue.
The crystal shattered and Misty and Bubbles caught the weak vixen. They flew down to safety and Fox ran towards her. They soon noticed the giant head lifting up and flying off, claiming itself to be the Mighty Krazoa God. Fox had Bubbles and Misty fly Krystal off to get help while he and Pikachu god back into the Arwing to chase after the Krazoa Head. As Misty and Bubbles flew off with Krystal, Krystal turned her head back towards the palace and muttered something shocking.
Krystal: "Be careful....baby brother..."
Fox and Pikachu flew into space after the giant head, with it revealing to be Andross newly revived, much to their shock and horror. They then proceeded to fight him. During the fight, Pikachu kept nagging Fox for something, but he kept telling her to shush. Then she screamed and indicated her red, sparkling cheeks, and Fox questioned as to why she never told him sooner, to which she seemed annoyed. The Arwing was attacked during the process and the 2 were in trouble, that was until a special someone showed up. It was Falco!! Both Fox and Pikachu were very excited to see him. He then asked his friend to take on the fight for a bit while Fox hooked up the wires to Pikachu's cheek. So, by the time he was ready, he steered his Arwing toward the war, and commanded Pikachu to unleash all her fury as Fox hammered on the laser straight thru his brain, destroying the emperor in the process!! Andross was finally eliminated.
The Final Battle's Over, But The Adventure's Just Begun[]
Falco went into the Great Fox while Fox and Pikachu headed back to the planet. As soon as he returned, it was clear that everyone was less than pleased by the ace pilot's absence. Because he left abruptly without saying a word or reciting the oath, everyone's powers remained inaccessible. After getting their grievances out of the way, Blossom went to get Buttercup, who had been crying since Falco left. Blossom had to drag her out so that she could see her friend again. She saw him for the first time in a long time, and she embraced him. Peppy decided to do the recovery oath with Fox since they longed to have their powers back.
Meanwhile, Fox and his team were relaxing at Cape Claw's coast as Gen. Pepper congratulated the team and informed them the money would be forwarded to them. He didn't realize that Andross knew about the secrets of the Krazoa, utilizing himself as a Krazoa god to conserve his existence. Bubbles asked if whether or not they'd see the last of Andross or Scales; Fox knew it'd be the end of the monkey, the tyrant he's not so sure. Misty became so worried on what revenge plot he'd scheme, but Fox wasn't sure, though he assured her that he'll protect her if he hurts her. He promised and he and Misty gazed into their eyes again.
We hope we can figure it out soon, because the end of the story is drawing near. Very, very near...
The Stay on Dinosaur Planet[]
This was a sequel story to Ultimate Story 2: Dinosaur Planet, soon after the events of the original. Fanfictiondreamer came up with this fic when she was done with US2 by the time she graduated from middle school and moved from NY to Pennsylvania. Like the last story, this was also based on her all-time favorite game.
Shabunga's Surprise[]
Soon after Andross was defeated, Fox and Pikachu arrived in Thorntail Hollow, where Tricky ecstatically ran up to them to inform them of Misty and Bubbles' arrival with the blue vixen that they saved from the palace. He found them watching over her, unconscious at the cave of the Queen and King Earthwalkers. Because of the impacts from the Krazoa Spirits, she was very weak. Misty decided they shouldn't leave the planet till she's well, which would take a couple days much to Bubbles excitement since it was longer than she anticipated. They didn't want to leave her alone, but the Cloudrunner Krystal knew decided to stay to look after her for them. The group then left for Cape Claw where the rest of the team waited.
They relaxed with Banjo, Rayman, and Peach minus Kazooie, much to Fox's relief. General Pepper congratulated everyone. Shabunga, the Thorntail Storekeeper, arrived to carry out the plan that Peach had set up while they bought the Snowhorn artifact. He asked Misty then Fox to stand in front of his camera which he unwrapped from his scarab necklace. Ee took each one, and they were awestruck by the lockets that had portraits of themselves; however, he planned to give Misty Fox's portrait and vice versa, and Fox figured out what the stunt was all about. He scolded the shopkeeper whom he felt offended as he took so much time and effort to make them, then he was outraged towards Peach whom planned to ask Shabunga to make these love gifts behind his back. Miffed, he threw his locket to the ground and left the group as he sat by himself till night fell.
While his friends were sleeping, he eventually went to his friends while picking up the locket along the way. He then questioned if what Peach had been trying to tell him is true and then he fell asleep.
A Newborn Princess; Tricky’s Little Sister[]
The next morning, Fox and Misty received a wakeup call from an Earthwalker breathing on them; this was more annoying than any alarm clock. He informed that the Earthwalkers wanted to show the pair, Bubbles, and Tricky something urgent. They headed back to Thorntail Hollow at the chamber while riding the Earthwalker to meet with the King and Queen Earthwalker where they confessed that during the attack at the Krazoa Palace, there was something else behind the sacred seal, not just the King's gatekeeping powers, as a way to threaten the monarchs. They hid that something within the hole behind the sacred seal. Fox placed his hand into the hole and pulled out a dinosaur egg! It soon hatched and Fox was completely covered in yolk, but Tricky was so excited once he noticed he has a baby sister! The king offered Fox to name the newborn as thanks for saving the planet, but Fox wasn't good with names so Bubbles and Misty helped him out. First there was Cutie suggested by Bubbles, then Misty came up with Beautiful, then her more abridged name, Beauty. It was decided to be her official name. While Fox headed to the waterfall to wash off, Bubbles and Beauty followed. Soon, Krystal came to partially and muttered that Tricky's not the only one who has a sister.
The Starfox Team Reunites[]
At the Great Fox, Slippy was building back seats for the Arwings, though it was difficult without Misty and Bubbles help; however, he was able to get it done before the scheduled time to visit the rest of the team still in Dinosaur Planet. Adeleine painted and rang her triangle waking up the group, then Falco, Peppy, Slippy and DW were announcing that the Starfox team is on its way down. She even painted some pancakes for them for breakfast.
In Thorntail Hollow, Falco and DW landed their Arwings, and they went out with Peppy and Slippy while Blossom and Buttercup disabled their suits. The Powerpuff Girls were able to locate their missing sister thanks to the tracking devices Slippy installed onto their wristbands just in case they'd get separated. Following the strong signal, they wound up into Cape Claw. They all made quite a reunion, especially to Falco who'd been missing for so long. As did each of the Powerpuff Girls. Everyone was together, accepting the team who has to do the recovery ritual. Fox, Falco, Peppy, Slippy and DW put their left hands in, made the oath, and one by one their powers returned! Heck, DW was able to break away her arm cast thanks to the restoration of her Horse of Healing. Then, Falco wanted to see the Ocean Princess, to which Misty emerged from the water in her Princess form. She seemed less than pleased for a number of reasons. Eventually after he talked to her, she warmed up to him and they began to chat.
Guess Who's Coming[]
Back on Earth, Ash Ketchum received a phone call from Professor Oak, saying he hasn't seen Misty and Pikachu in so long. Lady Bow, with Oak, received word that Peach didn't return to the Mushroom Kingdom thanks to an anxious Toad. Feeling his concern, Oak declared to gather Brock and meet with himself, Bow, Ribbon, Tracey Sketchit and Gary Oak at the ranch in search for them. Gary was shown to be irritated, saying he should never trust Fox since he was sly on taking them away longer than they should. They summoned their space taxis and headed to Corneria to get to the bottom of what's been happening.
When they got to the usual spot on Corneria, they were still missing and Oak used a radar, which read that they have been hanging out in another planet. Gary still ranted on how bad a person Fox is on sending their friends so far away while Oak scolded him and told him to never talk again till they get to their destination.
Many hours later, they reached Dinosaur Planet and landed in Thorntail Hollow. Their space taxis exited to their departures, and Oak used his radar to trace the Powerpuff Girls. Brock came to the conclusion Fox was around since he saw the Arwings. Tricky observed the landing and ran to Cape Claw and informed Fox of the humans' arrival. Fox followed him back and he reunited with everyone, including Gary who still resents him. When everyone was finally silent from the quarrel, he brought them thru Lightfoot Village, denying his false claim to Tricky they were trespassers.
They reunited at last with Ribbon very happy to see Misty again and she and Fox described the mission to their human friends, only to be interrupted by Gary claiming Fox to be the culprit, even though it was all her idea and made the others follow along. She showed them their new friends, Tricky and Beauty. Ash was relieved to see Pikachu again and Oak recommended Ash, Brock and Tracy to return to Earth, while he and Gary stay behind to observe Fox and Misty for awhile as he knew that there was something going on between them as he had noticed this for a very long time.
Krystal's Secret[]
Fox, Misty and Bubbles returned to check on Krystal. Adeliene was giving her food, and while she was weak, she ate off of numerous plates, with an appetite that reminded them of another cute Saiyan they all know. Fox went to wash the dishes along with Adeliene and Misty's pouch. While Misty and Bubbles stayed, Krystal began to speak and made them promise to never tell Fox on what her secret was: she happens to be Fox's long, lost sister. She remembered Fox, as she loved him as any sister would, even though she's a few years older than him. Thus, she was the only one who can recall where he didn't when they were puppies playing together till Corneria was under threat. Andross came and their father, James McCloud, decided to take the fight. Since then, they evacuated from Corneria and were never to return till Andross fell, unfortunately when they found out James perished, they flew away and she was separated from Fox. It was then when she went to another planet, Cerinia. While it was primitive in clothing, it was more technologically advanced than most worlds, as it has the knowledge to change DNA strands, hence her blue fur from her brown fur. While parts of the planet were highly-advanced as others are more simple, her mom decided to stay in the more quieter parts to avoid detection. Sadly, she had to live the rest of her childhood in rags, misery, longing to see her brother and Corneria, as well as naming herself differently. She hated it and her real name was Vixen. As the planet was dying, she escaped without her mother and she made the promise to find Fox. She searched all over space, not knowing nor remembering where Corneria was. Several years later, she received a vision from her ancestor that she'll find her brother in a planet being torn apart. She received the distress signal, met Scales, then got imprisoned after she completed the Test of Observation. She grew startled that she wouldn't know how to let Fox know he has a sister, though Misty encouraged her to do as such. She soon accepted on her offer, and they developed a sisterly bond between them.
Slippy, Peach, and Rayman listened in on the conversation, and she tried her hardest to resist telling Fox he has a sister. Lo and behold, Fox arrived and she tried to cover her tracks as much as possible. Adeliene returned the dishes to Misty's pouch and Fox met the girls. It was then when Krystal unveiled everything after Fox asked what she was doing in a planet like this. She told them everything that she did leading up to when she was trapped inside that massive crystal and soon enough, revealed herself to be Fox's long lost sister. Needless to say, Fox was overwhelmed and outraged by this. Falco and Peppy received the news and Fox remained stubborn about not believing the girls until Peppy recognized her and confirmed that what Krystal said was true. Fox left to be alone, venting his frustrations about Peppy never telling him anything. But it was a promise he had to keep for James until her return.
Beauty met Fox later and he doubted his dad as he questioned why he should keep a secret. He thought aloud that he'd be too stubborn to accept the truth. And he realized his life was so full of surprises, but no matter what, his friends were always there for him as he was to them. It was thanks to them on how he got thru the difficult times, even with Misty. He then returned to them and Beauty hurried ahead of him.
Another Secret Finally Revealed[]
Fox's friends were grateful that he returned to his senses, and he was happy to see Krystal back on her feet. With that, this meant that they can leave Dinosaur Planet, but Bubbles was upset about it, they agreed to stay one more night and the Oaks, Bow, and Ribbon met up with them from Cape Claw. Falco and DW caught up later and Peach asked Oak to do her a favor. While Fox was talking, something activated on the professor's wristband, it was a lie detector! Peach made this ploy to talk to Fox and make him admit his love for Misty. With that, he still denied that there was anything on him and Misty's relationship, to which the professor's wristband activated. From there, he couldn't deny his feelings anymore as the lie detector can activate from any lies, including lies that someone would tell themselves. Fox then ran off to be by himself again. Oak recommended Falco to look for Fox at Lightfoot Village with Gary, Ribbon and Buttercup while he stayed within the hollow with Peppy, Blossom and Bow.
Falco and Ribbon chatted with Fox about his relationship with Misty, with Fox questioning why he would fall in love with her. Falco and Ribbon reminded him that there was a good reason behind this and thought it was really cool for Fox to love someone as good as Misty is; their feelings were true since she was the one who held Fox together, even when he lost his planet, his father, and soon Pikachu. Misty was his best friend that always gave him hope and the strength to keep moving forward, though Gary was as arrogant as ever. Misty just received the same input from Peppy and the professor. They soon met up and did something they never thought they'd do in front of their crowd of friends, they finally kissed. The scene was a touching and emotional moment as most of their friends were overjoyed, even cried, especially Krystal, who was very proud of her brother for finding a girl who really did care about him throughout the years.
Great Terror: A Not so old Enemy Returns[]
Most of their friends were overjoyed by Fox and Misty finally confessing their feelings for each other. However, this was interrupted by General Pepper who transmitted to them about some strange readings from the Krazoa Palace; just before he was able to inform them of something else, they lost the signal. So the group made their way to the Krazoa Palace to check out what it was.
As The Starfox Team, Krystal, and the PPGs arrived and they could tell that something wasn't right. They soon found out that the cause of all of this was none other than General Scales. It turns out that while he separated the Spellstones from the temples, he analyzed their energy and created one of his own. With that, he was able to have immense power, and the group was ambushed by his Sharpclaw army and subdued the team. However, 3 of them were wearing some familiar heart-shaped belts that Slippy recognized. Scales had his moment to gloat but before he could do anything else, three Sharpclaws unveiled themselves as human girls. Not only that, but they were Clover, Alex, and Sam, aka the Totally Spies from GROUP! They actually commandeered the army to take on Scales as they struck a deal with the race, but they didn't last against his new powers as he utilized the stone that he created to overpower them. However, a baby Lightfoot, Junior, rammed into him, and the baby Cloudrunner, Terry, stole the stone. The girls retrieved the stone and destroyed it, putting an end to Scales' reign of terror. From there, the Pwerpuff Girls beat him to a pulp and the spies placed him under arrest on behalf of the Galactic Representation of Universal Protection. General Pepper arrived as the spy girls put Scales away. They had a chance to reunite with their friends of the Starfox Team. General Pepper revealed that the girls arrived on the planet on a mission to put a stop to Scales while the team was sent to repair the planet. It was also revealed that Slippy knew that the girls were there as he built some of their gadgets.
The team left the palace with the dark, cloudy skies clearing up and a rainbow appeared over the entire place, to which Bubbles enjoyed seeing.
A Farewell to Dinosaur Planet, Don't Worry; We'll be Back[]
Soon enough, the guys went back to Thorntail Hollow, only to say goodbye to their dinosaur companions. Bubbles let out an emotional farewell to both Tricky and Beauty, and the kids were made honorary as members of Team Starfox with Bubbles presenting them with a few signature pins. The great Fox soared away as the team got reacquainted with Falco and the group welcomed Krystal to the team. Then, Fox laid out some ground rules with Krystal on how he should be addressed by her, like no longer calling him baby brother.
Fox was impressed that Bubbles was able to move on; she knew that they'll visit the planet again next week. Fox attempted to give Krystal back her staff but was able to keep it after a challenge they took with it. Soon, everyone returned to Earth, and Krystal was greatly fascinated on how each of her friends are gifted Pokémon Trainers, as well as meeting the Pokémon themselves; she wishes to become one of them too.
Soon, it was time for their friends to part ways. Fox and his comrades left for Corneria, while Pikachu and Misty remained on Earth. Regardless of the tearful farewell, they were looking forward to seeing each other again as they officially became a couple; their lives were changed forever.
