The Lombax Secret is the third book to the Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles. The Lombax Secret involves the events of Tools of Destruction. Fanfictiondreamer has this book and the book that came after it specially written to have it be read by a "Guest Narrator" that was arranged for special reasons.
The story took place sometime after book 2. Kim and Ron had already graduated from high school, and she had donned a new mission outfit. Also, just like Tools of Destruction, the story of Ratchet's origin begins with one fateful invasion of an alien race from another galaxy.
This story wasn't one of Fanfictiondreamer's favorites to write but she had to finish it in order to reach her favorite part of the entire series and something she originally didn't want in the story.
This also marks the first time that Kim was seen in her new mission outfit that was introduced in Season 4 of Kim Possible.
How it All Began[]
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles- The Lombax Secret-Part 1
On a normal day in Metropolis. Ratchet and Clank were working on a rocket sled together. Kim was with them, spending time with the duo as things back at home were hectic. Ron had been acting more childish than usual despite both of them having graduated from high school. Ratchet and Clank also seemed puzzled by this even though they've known Ron to act this way sometimes. Just then, the group received a call from Qwark . He informed them of heavily armed robotic commandos were attacking him at the Planetary Defense Center. The group then rode off on the rocket sled to get to him. The ride hardly started off well, but then they had a somewhat smooth flight through that was cut short almost immediately from a lethal crash in the end. Kim did not seem very happy and Ratchet tried to get on her good side by complimenting her new mission outfit. Fortunately, they were able to walk it off and continued their trek on foot.
Making their way through the city, they came across the heavily armed robotic commandos that Qwark told them about. They were bombarded constantly as they rushed through, making their trek a difficult fight through. As they went further and further into the city, the commandos have been causing all kinds of carnage all around them, from wrecking walkways and rails to demolishing buildings completely, it was indeed very dangerous. Along the way, they found out that they were there to destroy Ratchet. They arrived at the Planetary Defense Center only to find that Qwark wasn't there. The commandos arrived on the scene in droves, forcing them to retreat.
They continued through the city until they were cornered. They were then approached by the leader of the commandos, Emperor Tachyon, who somehow knew about Ratchet's race and for some reason, have a deep revilement towards them. He wanted to kill Ratchet just for being a Lombax but before he had the chance to do that, Ratchet escaped along with Kim and Clank by hijacking Tachyon's warship and flew off the planet. They were then put into cryosleep before they went into hyperspace.
Zoni : "His past is inside."
While asleep, Clank had a dream about flying over an unknown city. He then encountered a strange looking robot flying beside him who pointed him to a dome-shaped building and they both flew into it. However, Clank woke up and found himself along with Ratchet and Kim on another planet. The ship that they were on ran out of fuel and crashed on the planet. They then went on their way to try and find another ship to get off the planet and hopefully back to Kerwan. Wade eventually contacted them, to which the explained to him their current situation. From there, he proceeded to inform everyone back on Earth.
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles The Lombax Secret-Part 2
They were able to reach a spaceport where they discovered that not only was it under the control of a large system known as "The Empire" but it seems to also share the same kind of hatred and disgust towards Lombaxes. Along the way, they met with a Smuggler who was willing to offer them a ride off the planet in exchange for restarting his Gelitonium Plant that was shut down by the Empire. After they completed the task, he flew them all the way to another planet named Kortog.
Along the way, he told them about where they were and what is going on. Turns out they're in another galaxy named the Polaris Galaxy and that Tachyon, the alien that tried to kill them back on Kerwan, ruled over most of the galaxy. He's a member of an alien race known as the Cragmites who was believed to have been wiped out by the Lombaxes many years ago, which explains why Tachyon hates Lombaxes so much.
As soon as they arrived at the planet, they flew over a large metropolis named Stratus City where the Smuggler dropped them out of his ship. After they landed, Wade contacted them to confirm that was the Smuggler told them was true. Even more so, they learned that the Lombaxes did what they did to the Cragmites because they were power hungry and wanted to dominate the entire Universe. However, that was all that he knew, so the group set out to find more intel about what they have been told. Wade was able to inform everyone back on Earth that OK while adding that Ron hitched a ride on one of Dr. Possible's specially made spacecrafts and is making his way for Polaris, much to the shock and dismay of the group.
They fought through the city with many of Tachyon's forces bombarding them constantly. They also found many jumbo-screens with Tachyon making speeches, to which Kim had the pleasure of knocking down much to Ratchet's joy. However, this also painted a target on her back from which Tachyon's forces were hunting her down just as much as they were hunting down Ratchet.
They soon stopped at a spot where Clank claimed that he spotted strange creatures pointing to a building. Those creatures were the same ones as the strange being that Clank saw in his dream. However, Ratchet and Kim couldn't see them. Ratchet brushed off his claim as a malfunction but Kim picked up on their readings. The strange beings then gave Clank an upgrade, a new set of wings, with which he used them to fly Ratchet and lead Kim to a building known as the Hall of Knowledge. They fought through the building's security system and Tachyon's forces to reach the Map Room. There, they discovered a planet known as Fastoon which was a Lombax planet. Ratchet had his friends and himself board an escape pod to the planet without hesitation as Tachyon's forces broke into the Map Room. Thankfully, they launched within the escape pod before they could reach them.
Ties to the Past[]

The pod eventually brought them to the planet Fastoon where they arrived within a deserted city. After a rough landing, they found themselves within the city, awestruck and spellbound by the ruins with Clank revealing that the Lombaxes abandoned the planet years ago. They then spent a little bit of time searching the ruins before they found a broken down ship. Ratchet, saddened by the deserted city and not being able to find his race, became adamant about fixing it. Clank was more worried about Tachyon's forces finding them, but Ratchet really wanted to fix up the ship. Kim did agree to help him out since they would have a ship of his own, but Ratchet wanted to do it because he believed that it was what's left of his people, to which she already knew. She called Wade to help them out and with his help, they were able to track several pieces of Lombax technology to fix the ship.
Their search took them to a small opening to a Raritanium mine that Clank was the only who could through it. When he entered the mine, he found the strange beings, who revealed themselves to be named the Zoni. They helped him through the mines with the use of their special powers. When he reached the very end, they showed him a vision of a dark planet and silhouettes of many vicious creatures while saying "They will return." After the vision, Clank found a component that was needed to fix up the ship.
He managed to crawl out of the mines and reunite with his friends. They then noticed something a bit odd about him but then brushed it off to returned to the ship.
They got back to the ship, Ratchet was able to work on it with Kim helping him out. After an hour, they were able to make it work, much to Ratchet and Kim's excitement. The ship then revealed that it has a built in AI that enabled it to talk, which was something that Kim had not seen since one of her missions. They then received a transmission from Wade that he picked up on a shuttle crash on a planet called Murow. The ship offered to fly them to the planet.
As they were flying through space, the ship introduced itself as Aphelion. Shortly afterwards, they received a transmission from a space pirate named Cap'n Slag, who threatened the group into hand over their ship or else. Not wanting to give up the ship that they had just received, they fought Cap'n Slag and his pirate crew head on. After they defeated the pirates, they made their way to Murow as fast as they possibly can.
As soon as they landed on Murow, they received a transmission from Qwark, telling them to meet him at an arena within the area as he has some secret intel that he wanted to share with them. They intend to make their way there, but after they find where the shuttle that Wade reported to them crashed. Upon finding it, they found out that it was one of Dr. Possible's special made spacecrafts. Not only that, but Ron and Rufus were in it. After Kim scolded Ron for being reckless again, he decided to tag along with them as they made their way towards the arena to meet with Qwark.
As they were making their way towards the arena, Ratchet, Kim and Clank told Ron about everything that had happened up to that point. Ron decided to continue traveling with the group from then on to help them out. The first thing he did was figure out a disguise for Ratchet as he was being hunted down by the Empire because he was a Lombax. What he came up with was a bandanna and a pair of sunglasses, to which Kim felt as though the disguise was used before on someone else.

Arriving at the arena, they found that Qwark was the announcer of the arena and was working with Tachyon. The group fought through the many challenges and was approached by Qwark. After Kim expressed her annoyance about Qwark working for the enemy again, he told them about his heroic (mainly pathetic) story of how he tried to "take down" the enemy forces and was brought to the galaxy, being forced to help out Tachyon. Ratchet pointed out his "forced allegiance" with Tachyon as him being a world-class suck up to save his own hide, to which Kim and Ron agreed on. From there, Qwark handed them a small device that would tell them everything that they needed to know. He was then called back by Tachyon to have his boils lanced, with which Qwark was terrified about. The group spent of few moments feeling sorry for Qwark then made their way back to their ship.
They arrived back at their new ship with Ron marveling at it for a brief moment. Ratchet switched on the back seats, to which both Ron and Clank sat in the back, leaving Kim to sit in the front with Ratchet. They played the small device to discover that Tachyon was looking for something known as the "Lombax Secret", with which he believed was on board a space station within the Nundac Asteroid Belt. With the first clue at hand, the group made their way for the asteroid belt.
As soon as they arrived at the space station, they were informed by Wade that the Pan Dimensional Vortex Inducer was stolen again and was sold to someone within the Polaris Galaxy, however, he didn't know who the buyer was. The group agreed to keep an eye out for the device as they needed to find it before it's used, knowing that it could bring absolute disaster if it's to be used even once.
Along the way, they ran into the Smuggler, whom they were not happy to see again. The Smuggler, however, offered them a way in if they were to fulfill a few errands for him, to which they reluctantly agreed on. After filling out his incredibly dangerous wishlist, he told them of a secret to getting into the space station, which was named the Apogee Space Station. After making their way through the complex passage, they were able to enter the space station.
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles- The Lombax Secret-Part 5
Shortly after entering, they were "greeted" by 2 voices over the loudspeakers. Those voices belonged to 2 unknown individuals by the names of Cronk and Zephyr who threatened the group into leaving and then tried to kill them with the space station's defenses. They fought through the dangerous and lethal defenses until they were able to reach a small chamber where they came face to face with the figures that were trying to kill them, to which were a pair of old robots. They then met a young girl named Talwyn who at first tried to force the group into exiting through the airlock, but as soon as Kim mentioned to them about Ratchet being a Lombax, she lowered her defenses and then introduced herself to the group. As they exchanged intel about what they knew, they found that the space station didn't contain the Lombax Secret but they did possess an artifact that may lead them to it. However, it was stolen long ago by space pirates. Talwyn's father, Max Apogee, a famous explorer and archaeologist, went after the pirates to try and retrieve it but he never returned. Wade then received a reading confirmed to be Lombax technology from a planet named Ardolis. After hearing this, Talwyn left with Cronk and Zephyr for the planet.
Shortly afterwards, the group was informed that the planet was home to the space pirates, which terrified Ron and made him regret his decision to leave Earth.
The Search for the Lombax Secret[]
The group arrived on Ardolis, a gloomy ocean world that was truly fitting for pirates. The group made their way through the area. As they fought through pirate hoard after pirate hoard, they chatted with each other about Kim and Ron's experiences with pirates, which they hadn't done since their field trip to Ye Olde Middleton. The field trip itself was a less than pleasant memory, so much so that Ron mentioned how happy he was that he didn't need to put up with Barken as an adolescent.
They received a transmission from Talwyn about them closing in on the Treasure Room where the artifacts that the pirates had stolen from the Apogees. They were able to arrive at the Treasure room and found the artifact but Cap'n Slag and his first mate, Rusty Pete, arriving at this location forced them to hide before they had the chance to snatch it. However, Cap'n Slag could sniff out Ratchet and they were almost exposed but then Talwyn arrived with a smoke bomb. With her help, the group was able to escape without being detected. Talwyn was able to steal back the artifact within the chaos and confusion.

Making their way through, Talwyn transmitted to them again, telling them to meet her, Cronk and Zephyr at the radio station. However, Cap'n Slag announced to his subordinates to attack the group in anger of the artifact being stolen. The group had to fight through much more furious hoards of pirates to get to Talwyn. When they met back with her, she gave Ratchet a chance to try working the artifact since she and her robots couldn't figure out how to get it to work. From simply touching it, Ratchet was able to activate. From there, it reveal a holographic image of a planet, which Talwyn recognized as Rikon V. She left for the planet with her robots with Ratchet and his friends leaving shortly afterwards.
Cap'n Slag: "Avast, you mangy bilge rats!!! This be Cap'n Slag, scourge of the galaxy and runner-up of the Suzy Sweet's Homemade Butterscotch competition. Return our artifact at once or face the gallows."
As the group were making their way to Rikon V, the pirates caught up with them at the Rakar Star Cluster. They demanded the group to return the artifact that was stolen from them, forcing the group to fight against the pirates. They were able to defeat the pirates and made their way towards Rikon V.
When they arrived at the planet, they were forced to do a Halo jump, much to Ron's dismay. They soon met up with Cronk and Zephyr and fought alongside the 2 old robots for the first time. Talwyn, however, needed to find a place to land. She was able to pick up on the coordinates on the holo-map beyond the space port. She intended on making her way towards that location while the group fought through the area. Arriving at the space port, the group received from Wade a set of vehicles named the Gyro-wheels that he built from studying Lombax technology, which meant a lot to Ratchet. They used the Gyro-wheels to ride through the area beyond the space port until they reached a strange bunker on a remote island.
Upon arriving at the location, they met up with Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr. Talwyn revealed that she could reach Lombax texts, to which they knew that the bunker was once used by Lombaxes. Ratchet touched it once which enabled it to open.
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles- The Lombax Secret-Part 7
Once inside the bunker, they found that it was being used for something, but they really didn't find much. However, an old film projector revealed that the Lombaxes had been working on a device known as the Dimensionator and some that were chosen to test the device were to head for the research station that the Lombaxes have set up on the planet Sargasso. The film didn't reveal much about what the device does but there were some indications of it having to do with "Interdimensional travel", so the group intended on making their way for Sargasso to find out.
Almost immediately after arriving on Sargasso, they received a transmission from Wade, informing them on the aftermath of the invasion of Metropolis. Furthermore, they were told that Kim's parents were there trying to alleviate the situation, but they're struggling to calm the Solonian populace down. Both Kim and Ratchet became worried, with Ratchet feeling responsible for Kim's parents going through it. After a little bit of time trying to overcome the news that they received, they continued on to try and find the research lab.
After fighting through the area, they were able to reach the facility. However, upon entering the lab, instead of actually finding the Dimensionator, they ran into a plumber, someone that they probably met with in the past, working on what appeared to be a giant toilet. He gave out confusing and cryptic intel regarding the Dimensionator, which understandably confused Ron. He then gave then gave them a 3¾ Centicubit Hexagonal Washer which he pulled out of the toilet. The group hesitantly took it and the plumber flushed himself down the toilet much to the confusion and surprise of the group. Clank then asked if the Cragmites weren't vaporized, but rather relocated. Ratchet didn't seem to think so but Kim felt that it made sense from a lot of what they have heard. Just then, Qwark sent them another transmission, telling them to return to the stadium as he had more intel for them regarding what they were looking for. From there, they decided to return to Murow to see what else Qwark wanted to present to them.
Arriving back at on Murow, they made it back to the arena to face more challenges. After winning, Qwark handed them a few useless prices, with one being a broken device that only Wade would know how to work and some intel about a massive supercomputer known as IRIS, which is said to know a lot about so many things in the Universe. Unfortunately, it was in the Kreeli Comet in possession of the space pirates. The group decided to make their way towards that location but then Qwark stopped them to beg them to bring him along, much to the surprise of the group. His "undercover work" was so grueling and unbearable that he wanted out. The group then convinced him that he is more than capable of being a hero but didn't leave out any of his noticeable flaws. From there, Qwark decided to set out on his own while the group continued on with their adventures.
Arriving on the surface of the comet, the group were already faced with many pirates in their way. In some cases, they were able to fight through, but in some, they couldn't get past them. However, Wade was able to make use of the broken device that the group handed to them and used it to create a very realistic image of a space pirate to help them through many of the impassable areas.
They kept on going until they were able to reach the IRIS Supercomputer. However, it was not functioning, so Clank crawled into the secluded interiors and navigated through with the help of the Zoni. After they were able to help him fix the supercomputer, they showed him another vision, this time, it was of Talwyn at a prison called Zordoom, warning him that if he and his friends don't reach her in time, then she will perish.
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles The Lombax Secret-Part 8
When Clank reunited with his friends, the IRIS Supercomputer began to work. Ratchet and the others asked questions to it about the Dimensionator. It revealed that the Dimensionator is a device that can open portals between dimensions and that the Lombaxes used it to banish the Cragmites to another dimension during the great war ages ago. However, Tachyon, being a Cragmite, was found frozen in an egg years after the work by Lombax Trillium Miners on the same comet that they were on. The Lombaxes decided to raise Tachyon but when he found out about his race's origin, he turned against them and plan to return his race from the dimension that they were sent to. IRIS also revealed that the Dimensionator was taken to Kerchu City in planet Jasindu by Max Apogee. Before IRIS could answer any more questions, it shut down due to a very low power cell functionality, leaving Ratchet distraught as he wanted to know where the Lombaxes were and why they left him behind. From there, he decided that their next destination would be Kerchu City, but Clank tells his friends that he was told by the Zoni that Talwyn is at the Zordoom prison. Ratchet didn't believe him but Ron and Kim decided to give Clank a chance and outvoted Ratchet on their next destination being Zordoom Prison, much to his annoyance.
Tension and Doubt[]
Upon their arrived to the Zordoom Prison, Wade contacted them via the monitor on the dashboard to confirm that Talwyn was being held in the prison. However, Ratchet wasn't convinced. His doubts increased when Wade mentioned that he had been picking up on some strange readings that Clank claimed were the Zoni. Kim, Ron and Wade were convinced of that as they couldn't think of anything else that they could be, but Ratchet became fed up with listening as he called off his friends' beliefs as baseless speculations and cut their conversation with Wade short. Shortly afterwards, Qwark contacted them and relayed his "intel" of the place, to which Kim called off as him being ridiculous as usual but Ratchet was so annoyed that he praised Qwark for making more sense than Wade for a change, which greatly startled and annoyed Kim and Ron. After he called off Wade's findings as as mistake, Kim and Ron became very concerned for Ratchet as he desire to reunite with his race has changed him into something they didn't like.
Regardless of the conflict that they had to deal with, they fought through the entire prison until they were able to find where Talwyn was imprisoned and broke her out. From there, Ratchet admitted that Clank was right about Talwyn being in the prison but still refuses to believe his friends and Wade about the Zoni regardless of how much they were able to confirm it.
After Talwyn thanked the group for breaking her out of prison, Kim gave full credit of the rescue to Clank while regarding Ratchet as nothing more than just assisting as a way to get back at him for his stubborn behavior. Despite being annoyed by his friends discrediting him, he still refused to believe what they've been trying to tell him about the Zoni so they intend to keep doing this as a bargaining chip for making him believe them.
After leaving the prison, they flew near Verdigris Black Hole where they ran into the pirates. Cap'n Slag announced that he was on to them trying to find the Lombax Secret, to which they needed to get to Kerchu City as fast as they could. Ratchet made the jump to fly into the black hole but not before destroying the pirates' outpost base on an ice moon nearby. As they flew into the black hole, they received a transmission from the Cap'n Slag that he and his crew were making their way to Kerchu City, so the group hurried to Jasindu as fast as they could to try and beat the pirates to Kerchu City.
When they arrived at Kerchu City, they found that the pirates had already beat them to the city, so they hurried through as fast as they could to ensure that they don't beat them to the Dimensionator. Throughout the city, they fought through many of the pirates and the planet's natives, the Kerchu, trying to find the Dimensionator. They also ran into a massive Kerchu who attacked them constantly. After they defeated the Kerchu, they were able to find the Dimensionator, but then Cap'n Slag arrived and stole from right under them. Angered about this, they gave chase to the pirates to try and take it back. They were able to find out that they have set up a base at the Ublik Passage, so they made their way there as fast as they could.
They arrived at the passage and began their fight through the entire place. Clank offered to call upon Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr to help them out, much to Ratchet's annoyance. They fought through hoard after hoard of space pirates until they were able to find Cap'n Slag. Ratchet, being more than adamant about taking back the Dimensionator challenged the dreaded pirate captain with the help of his friends. They eventually defeated him, reducing him to a head that shut down shortly after his defeat. Rusty Pete briefly grieved over his captain's loss and then made Ratchet the new captain of the space pirates as it was part of their code. Ratched didn't care about that as he just wanted the Dimensionator. Clank tried to talk him out of using the Dimensionator, causing them to get into another dispute before they were interrupted by Wade calling them up and Qwark's unexpected arrival. Qwark aimed to take the Dimensionator and throw it into a black hole, which Ratchet was obviously angered about, but Qwark left in an escape pod before the group could stop them. However, Wade revealed to them that Qwark wasn't heading for a black hole, but rather, the closest planet to their current location: Reepor, the deserted homeworld of the Cragmites. Greatly alarmed to hear this, they made their way to the planet as fast as they possibly could.
The Beginning of a Terrible Disaster[]
When they made it to the planet, they were met with very little ground to land the ship on, so they were forced to do another Halo jump, much to Ron's dread. They fell right into a battlefield while receiving a little extra help from Talwyn. The group fought through the area frantically to hopefully find Qwark and the Dimensionator before Tachyon does.
Ron: "TACHYON'S WEARING THE DIMENSIONATOR!" Ratchet: "No…" Tachyon: "Oh, how fitting. The Prince of the Cragmites and the Son of the Lombaxes, on the very ground their ancestors once fought. How do you like my planet, Lombax? It's been dormant for years thanks to your kind." Qwark: "I LOVE the ruins! Feng shui meets drab and dismal. I dig it." Tachyon: "Silence, you halfwit! I will deal with you deceitfulness later."
There was no such luck as Tachyon managed to find
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles The Lombax Secret-Part 10
Qwark and was wearing the Dimensionator. When the group attempted to oppose him, he threatened them with a device in space that he planned on using to swallow up the entire planet. He also revealed that the device contained the Pan-Dimensional Vortex Inducer inside it as a main component, revealing that he had the Pan-Dimensional Vortex Inducer in his possession while possibly being the buyer of the incredibly dangerous human device. Knowing what they were up against, they couldn't move. Then Tachyon, after a few tries, managed to get the Dimensionator to work, opening portals with the Cragmites emerging from them. The chaos caused the group to be thrown in different directions.
Zoni: "They have returned. You must destroy it."
Separated from his friends, Clank received some help from the Zoni once again to get through the entire area. They took him a short distance. After reaching a cliffside, they showed him another vision. This one was of Ratchet standing in front of a portal, telling him about needing to get to Fastoon.
Zoni: "We will need you on Fastoon."
The vision ended with them disappearing and Clank noticing Aphelion a good distance away from him.
Elsewhere, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr were making their way through another part of the area. Talwyn immediately noticed an unconscious Kim. She ran over to her to help her out. Kim awoke, with Talwyn elated to see her alive and well. Kim then left with her, Cronk and Zephyr to look for the others.
Ratchet, somewhere else, regained consciousness, alarmed to not see his friends around and angry at himself for not listening to earlier. He fought through the area by himself until he reunited with Talwyn, Cronk, Zephyr and Kim near Aphelion. They were also able to find Ron. Kim ran over to him, relieved that Ratchet was OK, but Ratchet was saddened, thinking that Clank was gone. He then expressed his remorse towards not listening to him about the Dimensionator as well as being so harsh towards his friends, expressing how he owed all of them an apology. Just then, Clank appeared on his new robo-wings. The group was happy to see him again. All 4 of them had their brief moment, with Ratchet apologizing to Clank for his earlier behavior. But then Aphelion interrupted them by informing the group of a Cragmite armada heading for Meridian City on the planet Igliak, which Talwyn mentioned was the capital of the parts of Polaris that are free from Tachyon's control. She had the group leave for the city while she, Cronk and Zephyr planned to take care of the Pan Dimensional Vortex Inducer.
Kim: "Got it. Let's go." Ratchet: "You guys still want to stay with me, even after how I've been?" Kim: "Of course, I told you that I would always stay with you no matter what." Ron: "We've always got your back, Ratchet; also, we're glad to have the old you back because the other one was a complete and total jerk." Ratchet: "I couldn't agree more."
Despite Ratchet's previous behavior, his friends were still willing to stay by him till the very end, so they left for the planet Igliak.
The End of a Cragmite's Reign[]
Kim: "Yikes! They really did a number on this place." Ratchet: "Come on! We have to stop them!" Ron: "Oh, yeah! Let's bring down that evil brat and his terrible empire once and for all. Viva la revolución! Booyah!" Rufus: "Booyah!" Clank: "Let us end this."
They arrived within the city in the middle of a warzone. The group fought through the area. The Cragmite had shown a lot of animosity towards the city for resisting his rule for so many years, hence why he targeted it first. However, the group was determined that it would the only invasion that he would ever commit. After hearing from Wade that Qwark was somewhere within the city, they fought through it to try and find him. Talwyn was eventually able to arrive after retrieving the Pan Dimensional Vortex Inducer and helped them out.
Ratchet: "We need to stop Tachyon before he opens up any more portals." Kim: "Do you have any idea where he went next?" Qwark: "Who knows? Who cares?" Ron: "Uh…Qwark? Are you…?" Qwark: "Oh, who am I kidding? I don't deserve these rock hard abs, these chiseled features, these impeccable glutes and bulbous buttocks. I'm no superhero. I am Captain Qwark NO MORE."
They were able to find Qwark locked in a closet, surprisingly expressing his self-pity through vanity. However, the group was more so dead set on finding Tachyon and bringing him down. Clank then mentioned to his friends that Tachyon was on Fastoon without keeping it a secret that the Zoni told him. This time, Ratchet believed him as the rest of the group placed their faith in Clank. From there, they left for Fastoon.
Immediately after arriving at Fastoon, they were caught in an aerial assault, an indication that Tachyon actually there, as Clank and the Zoni had claimed. Due to being shot at a lot, they were forced to be sent dropping down, with Ron still not liking to take another one of these.
They fought Tachyon's forces throughout the ruins of the abandoned Lombax city. Cragmites came at them everywhere. Wade was able to pinpoint Tachyon's warship landing in another part of the area. The group did all they could to make it over there to confront him. When they did, they found him in his warship, gleefully gloating about what he did to the Lombaxes. When they asked why he betrayed them when they took care of him, he expressed his disgust towards them pitying him after what they did to his entire race. Kim tried to tell him that they tried to make him better than his race but he became the very reason why the Lombaxes had to banish the Cragmites. She then remarked about how they got what they deserved, which greatly angered the young Cragmite tyrant then vowed to kill all of them. He then told them to meet him at the Court of Azimuth before flying off. There, they intend to make their way over to finish him off once and for all.
They fought their way through the ruins even more to get to the Court of Azimuth. They had to endure jumbo screens consisting of Tachyon taunting the group, to which Kim gladly took her frustration out on.
When they arrived at the Court of Azimuth, Tachyon was waiting for them. After he greeted them, Kim and Ron expressed their anger and disbelief in Tachyon betraying the Lombaxes and becoming the same kind of monster as his entire race. As he gloated from their chastising him, he went on to reveal that the Lombaxes escaped into another dimension. He then opened a portal into the dimension that the Lombaxes have been living in right in front of Ratchet. Then proceeded to mention that 2 Lombaxes stayed behind: the keeper of the Dimensionator and his infant son. The group then realized that the infant was Ratchet and the keeper of the Dimensionator was his father. He also revealed that the keeper sent Ratchet to Solana to keep him safe but ended up killed by Tachyon. From there, he gave Ratchet an alternative to reunite with his race. Ratchet hesitated for a bit as he looked back at his friends.
Ratchet: "If I leave you with the Dimensionator, no one will be safe. Not the Lombaxes, not my friends…I'm not going anywhere until it's destroyed."
Despite being this what he's wanted, he declined and the portal the Lombaxes' dimension closed. From there, Tachyon went on to kill Ratchet with Kim, Ron and Clank standing by their friend.
They fought against the tyrannical Cragmite. It was a brief fight as a little into the battle, the Dimensionator malfunctioned. Tachyon tried to get it to work again and in his frustration, he opened a portal into a dark dimension. The group stood by for a bit, thinking that it was all over but then Ratchet was pulled into the dimension along with Clank with Kim and Ron following after them. The black portal then closed.
On a floating rock within the black dimension, Tachyon retaliated against the group and attempted to destroy them even more. The battle was fierce and there were several close calls here and there, but the group was able to defeat Tachyon.
Tachyon: "You can't kill me, Lombax! Only I know your true purpose in this galaxy! Only I know your true name! The Cragmite return is inevitable! Your kind will never be safe! NEVER!"
Tachyon was thrown off the rock and into the abyss as he gloated. The group scrambled to get the Dimensionator to work before the rock that they were standing on collapsed. It was broken but then Clank handed Ratchet the 3¾ Centicubit Hexagonal Washer that was given to them by the Plumber. Ron was too disgusted by where it came from to even consider it but Kim felt as though they didn't have any other choice. Ratchet used the washer to fix the Dimensionator and then used it to enable him and his friends to escape the unstable realm.
Ratchet awoke surrounded by his friends and relieved that their battle against Tachyon was finally over.

Later on, a lot of the group's friends and allies gathered at the Apogee Space Station to celebrate the victory against Tachyon. Qwark was given pirate lessons by Rusty Pete and was not doing a good job at it. Cronk and Zephyr were reenacting the epic battle of Ratchet against Tachyon with Cronk wearing the now broken Dimensionator while pretending to be Tachyon and Zephyr holding Ratchet's Omniwrench while pretending to be Ratchet. Talwyn, concerned for them, tended to them during their reenactment. Kim and Ron were chatting with Wade about the Pan Dimensional Vortex Inducer. Ratchet was by himself sulking. Clank tended to him as Ratchet questioned what Tachyon mentioned about his father and his purpose. Clank comforted him by telling him that his purpose has already been fulfilled when he defeated Tachyon. Ratchet seemed pleased to hear this then went on mentioning that there were more important things to him than his race. He then looked glanced at each of his friends with them glancing back at him while smiling. Just then, a bright light appeared and a few Zoni emerged, this time, everyone can see them. They lifted Clank much to the shock of his friends, while telling him that he needed to come with them. As Kim and Ron watched, Rufus peered out then went towards Clank. Everyone watched in shock as the Zoni pulled Clank away. Ratchet was left distraught. Ron talked Kim into approaching him as he believed that Ratchet needed her more than he did, with Kim walking up to him. The rest of his friends also approached Ratchet, saddened for him. Ron, however, stood by and noticed that Rufus was missing.
Ron: "Has anyone seen Rufus?"
