The Hawkins Demogorgon, also known as the Monster, is the opening antagonist of the Netflix original series Stranger Things, serving as one of the two main antagonists (alongside Martin Brenner) of Season 1 and a posthumous antagonist for the rest of the series.
It is a monstrous creature that hails from a parallel dimension reminiscent to a dark reflection of the world known as the Upside Down. It has the ability to create doors to other dimensions, and feed on inhabitants from there. It was sent by the Mind Flayer to kidnap Will Byers after a gate was opened in Hawkins Lab, allowing it to cross between the two dimensions.

Chapter 3[]
The Demogorgon is first seen in Dreamland, Lincoln thinks he saw it and proceeds to investigate it in Dreamland. Lincoln's confirmations are proven when he joined by Lydia who trying out a new heroine costume as Nolan has photos of it that he has been posting in his papers
Lydia and Lincoln both corner it and it tries to attack the former, this is because she was bleeding in regards to Lydia's encounter with Alpha earlier. Using the infiinty stones, Lydia manages to put it down for a time being and figuring out it's weakness to fire.
It is revealed to Lydia and Lincoln by Scully and Mulder who caught them before they could kill it. Smaller verisons of it are found in Amphiba and hound the two of them, with Hilda, Bean, Bruce and Selina. This confuses the others as they know nothing about this and Lincoln was told to keep the involvments of Mulder and Scully hidden. Lydia manages to kill them with the Infinity Gauntlet and this is investigated by Bruce's hired demon detective Damian Darkblood
It is revealed, that this is the work of M.A.L.I.C.E's leader who was toying with something he shouldn't have.
Chapter 4[]
Demobats of the Domgordon arrive around in Hawkins when The Bad Guys, Scully, Mulder, and Joanne come to and the latter runs into the Demobats. Joanna does her darnest to fight off the multiudes of Demobats and while it is fortunante to get a few in. They eventually overswarm her and it looks like the end for her until she is saved by someone
Upon this, Joanna asks who is this guy and he introduced himself as Jaune. Joanna and Jaune end up working together and manage to drive the rest of the Demo Bats and manage to drive them all off in part to Jaune. Jaune and Joanna head back to The Bad Guys and Sculder, and Mulder. Joanna asks about Jaune and it's revealed that his lover was killed by The Upside Down, spefically the a spider like tentacle like monster that flayed her and took control of her forcing himself to kill her
Joanna sympathizing with his loss decides to help him anyway she can as a way of repayment for saving her life.
Jaune says thanks but he needs to help himself, Joanna does state that he can't do it himself and she is offering to help. Jaune changes his head on this a bit and states he'll think about it. He holds a sample of the Demobat in front her that he took off when she wasn't looking to look at to her disgust.
It is found by Lincoln and Lydia that they are part of the Upside Down and the Mind Flayer is behind these things as well.
Chapter 6[]
A Soviet version of this being and the regular are present in Royal Woods and they procceed to attack Lydia and Lincoln under THe CSM's Orders though with orders not to kill the former

Chapter 2[]
The Demogorgon reappears with the soivet one that Vecna send after Lydia, Hild and Lincoln, and more demo bats and demodogs appear to attack Lincoln, Lydia and Hilda in the Bat Barn . Lincoln takes out his David Steele and Ace Savry kit, Lydia gets her Infinity Guantlets and the stones and Hilda eqips her sword that Lincoln was holding on to the three dash at the Upside Down Dictizens.
Lincoln, Lydia and Hilda are succesfull against the Demo dogs and Demobats.Though HIlda is once again distracted by Vecna's actions, pretending to see The Trundle trying to kill Lincoln and she rushes to save him. Lincoln states he was fine, Hilda states she though she saw The Trundle and wanted not to let him be hurt.
Lydia watches and decides a full play and uses 4 of the stones to get rid of the Upside Down residients and blind the Soviet Demogorgon from them. SHe hands the other 2 to Lincoln to help deal to save Flap
Chapter 3[]
Lydia, Ford, Truman and Mulder all run directly into a bunch of Demogrgons and one being the Soviet one that both Lydia and Mulder encountered at certain points. This is when Abomdinations show up and grab them and this is when Odalia appears. Though this time there are many of them and Lydia kills them with The Reality Stone.
Chaper 4[]
Trundle is amused and has Demogorgons to stall the 4 so he can settle his revenge on them weakened. Jauna goes lupine to attack the Demogorgons so the 3 can fight Trundle
Frida and David manage to find Jaune fighting more of the Demogorgons and the Soviet one is also attacking them as well. They see that the Demogrgons were heading to Hilda's house and they nearly kill Johanna with Jaune having to defend her from them. Frida and David arrive too with Truman and Anne also following suit too and helping Johanna Safe and keep her from stressing out more. The Demogorgons try to kill Anne and Truman who hold off them off while Jaune tears them apart lupine style.
Chapter 5[]
It goes to trail Bean and her friends for Dagmar with the Soviet Demogorgon as well. In part to it's Upside Down nature, it isn't something that Bean and her friends know how to deal with in exact detail. Though they're not helpless against it but it still unknown to them apart from Luci who has a bit more knowledge. It is brought to bay by Bowser and Luan who arrive to get the team out of danger.
Vecna pulls it out as they escape, as he knows that Team Free Will is heading to Hawkins and will need them against them as he has the Upside Down leak into Hawkins.
Chapter 6[]
The Demogorgon arrives with Vecna and his others with the intent to ambush Bender, Marcy, Sid, Slade, Anti Cosmo and the others after fighting Belos. They end up fiighting it and manage to drive it and it's fellow kin due to Bender and Libby's investigations on the Upside Down.
Chapter 8[]
The Demogrogon is sent by Vecna to go after Truman to kill him to get back at Lincoln and Lydia. However both it and the soviet one are attacked and slain by Truman, Anne, Sasha and Grime.
