The "Strange Boy", also known by his real name Ozzy, is a demon who appears in both Pocket Mirror and Little Goody Two Shoes. In Pocket Mirror, and its remaster, he appears as a mysterious figure who taunts Goldia by showing her the stories of the various girls she meets on her journey while also manipulating Enjel into stealing Goldia’s pocket mirror. In Little Goody Two Shoes, while mentioned throughout the entire game, he only makes a physical appearance after Elise manages to correctly offer The Three Testaments.

Appearance[]

The "Strange Boy" is a young boy with fair skin and light brown hair, curly horns that protrude from the sides of his head, and is always seen wearing a grin that shows his pointed teeth. In Ending No. ??? ~ Witching Hour, we are able to see The "Strange Boy"’s singular eye, which is golden brown with a large, rectangular black pupil, resembling that of a goat’s.

His outfit consists of a simple white shirt with a black and gold striped ribbon tied around his collar with a golden skull. He also has a dark brown blazer that he wears off his shoulders and light brown shorts with a belt with a gold hourglass. He wears knee length white socks and black shoes with gold laces.

The "Strange Boy" carries a black staff with a gold base topped with an animal skull with a golden rose and a black and gold striped ribbon. He also wears a black miniature top hat with two golden roses attached to it.

In Goldenertraum, The “Strange Boy” receives a redesign. His brown hair is wilder, and the curly horns on his head are larger. His top hat has an orange pumpkin and four golden leaves attached to it as opposed to the roses in his original design.

His white shirt has a different collar, and the ribbon tied around it now has an orange pendant. His brown shorts are higher up on his waist, with four golden buttons on the top as opposed to a belt. He retains the golden hourglass, however it is now much larger and hangs on his right side as opposed to the left. The Strange Boy’s dark brown blazer is change to a large coat, which is oversized and torn at the ends. There are golden buttons on the cuffs of the coat’s sleeves. His retains the knee-high white socks, and his shoes have been changed to plain brown loafers. In one of the endings to the game, he is shown to have long, sharp nails.

The Strange Boy also retains his staff, although the animal skull at the top has been replaced by an orange pumpkin. The pumpkin has red eyes, a toothy, open-mouthed grin, and a golden crown on the top of it’s head. Interestingly enough, a line can be see right above The Strange Boy’s nose, appearing almost like a scar.

Personality[]

Ozzy is an incredibly powerful dream demon. He is proud, arrogant and sadistic. He hates and pities humans; to him, they are just livestock and toys. He prefers to skillfully flatter his victims and urge them to wish for something from him - something that the victims all have long desired, but which they should know that they cannot get what they want just like that and, moreover, not hard-worked out and earned. Ozzy then offers each victim a pact, as payment he demands the soul of the summoner and the soul of another person whom the summoner must offer as a sacrifice. Ozzy often instructs his subordinates to check whether the summoner is really willing to fulfill all the conditions of the pact. If the victim passes all the tests, Ozzy asks one last time whether the summoner really wants his wish fulfilled. If the respondent agrees, Ozzy fulfills the wish and devours the offered one. Ozzy then transforms the souls of the summoner and the offered one into Golden Maids, who must then serve him forever.

Ozzy takes a rigorous and iron-clad approach. He doesn't threaten, he makes things happen. Even if his victim later bitterly regrets his decision and his pact, he doesn't care - he gets what he is entitled to according to the pact. What's more, Ozzy doesn't shy away from expressing his glee and spite, and he delights in failure and emotional suffering on the contractors behalf. However, one has to admit that his behavior is often not completely wrong: Ozzy often gives his victims the chance to think again. If the victim rejects the pact and also evades the trials, he can't do much anyway and he has to let the victim go.

Unfortunately, Ozzy has a keen sense for people whose nature is characterized from the outset by egoism, vanity, megalomania and, above all, greed. The cases concerning Grandma Holle, Elise Liedl and Rozenmarine's mother prove this very impressively. All three were so blinded by their wishes and desires that they no longer paid any attention to their loved ones in order to have their wish fulfilled. Holle and Rozenmarine's mother were desperate to have a child of their own, even though their circumstances didn't allow it; Elise just wanted to be rich and indulge in her laziness. However, in Rozenmarine's own case, Ozzy shows deviousness when he makes the girl his tool and drives her into Elise's arms. He would have grabbed Rozenmarine's soul anyway, because that was certainly part of the pact with Rozenmarine's mother (a comparable case is that of Elise and Goldia).

Since Elise tried to defy the contract by giving Goldia the pocket mirror, he can't claim her soul directly, so he torments her in her dreams instead, in hopes to finally "break her" and retrieve what's his.

Relationships[]

Enjel[]

Enjel was created by The “Strange Boy” in order to secure Goldia’s pocket mirror. Enjel initially looked at The “Strange Boy” with childlike wonder, as she knew nothing about the world, but that trust was quickly broken. He started to cruelly mock and tease her, cutting off one of her fingers and breaking the pocket mirror he initially gave her. Soon Enjel was filled with a burning hatred for the horrible fiend that had created her. She does not, deep down, trust a word he says, but since she has no other options she goes along with him. Interestingly enough, her character profile says she both likes and dislikes him.

Goldia die Heilige[]

Goldia doesn't trust The "Strange Boy" from the beginning. He dodges all her questions, and asks very uncomfortable ones of his own to confuse and frighten her. Although he never directly harms her over the course of the story, he abruptly changes this to the utmost extreme in the Witching Hour ending.
