Swinub

Swinub is a subterranean Pokemon from the Johto region. It is a dual Ice/Ground type and the first of its kind.

Swinub can evolve into Piloswine. It was its only known evolution form until Generation IV when it was discovered that it could evolve even further into Mamoswine.

Swinub roots for food by rubbing its snout against the ground. Its favorite food is a mushroom that grows under the cover of dead grass. This Pokémon occasionally roots out hot springs. If it smells something enticing, it dashes off headlong to find the source of the aroma.
