Sam, or "Samhain", is the brainchild of film director/writer Michael Dougherty, appearing first in Dougherty's 1996 short film, Season's Greetings, and then in the horror film Trick 'r Treat. Appearing as a seemingly innocent masked trick-or-treater, Sam is revealed to be a demonic pumpkin-like creature who acts as the enforcer for the rules and traditions of Halloween, and is willing to do anything to make sure these rules are honored. A fan's viewpoint might be that Sam is the embodiment of Halloween in a more modern sense.

Tuxedo Lovelace vs. Dormammu[]
After his judgement he leaves to join forces with Dormammu's CarnEvil. He is the first of new villains to join forces since Dormammu did survive something only CarnEvil, Tuxedo Lovelace know.
He was the villain whom allied Valvatorez to force shadow queen to marry him. Before the battle of Valvatorez, He stepped forward to Tuxedo but was blown out of the window.
Tuxedo Lovelace vs Carnevil[]
Sam quickly rallies the goons to attack. However, the Hyenas stand no chance against the Tuxedo' magic, so Sam heads for Charmcaster's quarters. Tuxedo anerdly loses her cool with Sam and turns him into stone. However, upon witnessing Samhain as stone, Charmcaster, horrified at the fate of her ally, catches on to the situation and jumps into the battle herself.
A Christmas Bizarro[]
As the new group was formed, fairy magic is drained away and spells are broken, resulting in Samhain's revival from the stone curse placed on him by Tuxedo. He immediately joins forces with Bizarro League thus initiating another plot to conquer Christmas and dominate the Multi-Universe.
When Tobi goes to get some eggs for his breakfast Sam secretly follows him and he secretly eats all his eggs causing Tobi to get angry but just as Tobi is about to hit him with the egg box. Toad figures out that Marahute's eggs are the trigger.
He and General Scales stood guard along with Ripto. At the end Doppelganger reveal that Zira and Scar was on his master's side. The Bizarro league members was accepted to join Him.
