Rick Prime is the alternate version and arch-nemesis of Rick C-137 who killed his wife and daughter, driving him to invent the portal gun and go on a futile mission of revenge for decades, ultimately causing him becoming the broken, depressed and destructive man he is today. He is eventually revealed to be the true grandfather of Morty Smith, specifically the one who would later be grandfathered by Rick C-137.
