Po
Master Po Ping (known simply as Po, and originally named Little Lotus) is the main protagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise. He is the adopted son of Mr. Ping and the biological son of Li Shan and his wife, as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is also the foretold Dragon Warrior of legend and a master of the Panda Style of kung fu.
Po is a clear symbol for identity and self-discovery, with his journey featuring him overcoming the traumas and demons of his past and opening his bright future, he can also be used to motivate and connect with for others to further themselves. Po was born in a small panda village that was attacked by Lord Shen who just heard of a prophecy that he would be stopped by a warrior of black and white, Shen would go on to kill Po's mother and handicap his father after his mother hid him in a radish basket, Po was later adopted by Mr. Ping while Shen was banished from China after it was believed that he caused the extinction of most or all Pandas. Po would be raised by Mr. Ping for several years until he reached full maturity which he would use to the ploy of going to sell noodles to see the Dragon Warrior Ceremony but due to him breaking in due to several fireworks he would be chosen by Oogway who detected his great protentional and chi. Po would be trained brutally by Master Shifu who at first disliked him along with the other Furious Five (excluding Mantis and Viper), but decided to train him after Master Oogway passed away and later found out about his motivations and fully did train him. Po would finally gain the Dragon Scroll and later became one of a few that understands its meaning, there is no secret ingredient or superpowers; what makes you special and powerful is you, using this he was able to beat Tai Lung. Po would be the dragon warrior for several years before Shen would return and seek vengeance, he would later be forced to go and stop Shen but during the way, Po began to feel trauma and repressed memories from the sight of Shen and his symbols. Shen would also try to kill Po but would only be knocked out with Po being saved and healed by a Shaman who delivered the prophecy, she would teach him inner peace with Po unlocked which he used to defeat Shen. Po would forgive and spare Shen telling him that his past should be who he is, Shen would choose his past and try to kill Po destroying himself to Po's dismay. Po after several months would begin to train up and would be stuck with a hard choice of becoming a master and teaching the next generation of Kung Fu but he is later faced with a new problem his biological father has found him, Po goes with him to learn of his origin and learn Chi to fight against the mighty Kai. Po would end up sacrificing himself to send Kai to the spirit realm where the two finally battle with Po coming out on top destroying and freeing the souls collected by Kai, with Po now taking up the mantle of master for the next generation.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Panda Style Kung Fu - Po is a master of his own made Panda style which is modified Dragon Style with Po using his fatness to his advantage.
- Fighting Skills - Po has incredible fighting skills.
- Chi - Po has incredible Chi powers, this allows him to make constructs and attacks, his Chi is so powerful that not even massive Chi absorbers such as Kai couldn't even handle a single blast of Po's chi.
- Hero's Chi - Po is the one member of his generation granted with the extremely powerful form of Chi known as the Hero's Chi, this chi allows Po to access feats and the abilities of previous Hero's Chi users such as Oogway and the Black Tortoise.
- Strength - Po is very strong as he can break solid steel and metal with his bare hands, in his Chi Form he can produce massive shockwaves.
- Speed - Po despite being fat and categorized as slow is pretty fast and agile, with some of his feats putting him faster than the speed of light.
- Fat - Po uses his fat to his advantage to defeat foes, he can even use it to block attacks. His fat also makes him immune to some attacks.
- Durability - Po has amazing durability, he can take punches from foes who can break metals, and even took a direct shot from Shen's most powerful canon's fire and survived without a scratch with only a small wok as a shield.
- Nirvana - Po has achieved his inner peace and gained nirvana, this makes his senses and powers far greater and stronger, it also allows him to enter or exit the spirit realm at will meaning Po technically can't die or be killed unless he wants to.
- Wuxi Finger Hold - The Wuxi Finger Hold is a chi-based attack that features Po grabbing an opponent's finger closing his pinky and going skadoosh producing a large golden soundwave, this move sends any character it used on straight to the spirit realm / insta kills them.
- Adaptivity - Po is highly adaptive in a fight using anything around him to his use, such as pans to hide the dragon scroll from Tai Lung or using bamboo to hit him from far away.
- Silken Moon Touch - With enough time and concentration Po can use this move to send a foe or entire army flying a couple of miles with a single blow.
- Paralyzing Touch Point - This move features Po rapidly jabbing his opponents in the nerves paralyzing them.
- Golden Lotus Clap - This chi-based move features Po fueling his chi into his hands and clapping them together forming a powerful wave of power in the directions and also a temporally blinding light, allies, and Po himself have to close their eyes or risk being temporally blinded themselves.
- Thundering Wind Hammer - By spinning around Po can stop and release a strong green chi ball that sends enemies flying back for miles.
- Mongolian Fireball - This move features Po homing his chi and shooting a powerful fireball.
- Chi Transformations - When in the spirit realm or given enough time Po can use his chi to transform into a giant Eastern Dragon, he can also turn back to normal at will.
