When my body felt so heavy that I could not move, when I felt as though I was sinking into a deep, black sea... It was at that moment, I somehow heard Michael's voice... He wanted me to join him and seek for happiness again. When I thought it was just a flash, I saw him. Like a lighthouse beacon shining across an ocean of darkness... A warm, yet resolute, light... The one who shined that light...it was probably... You saw it too, right, Michael? The future we are going to create from this moment on, it is also the future that everyone has created, right? Then... there is nothing can ever stop us!
Plaisir Permafrost, shortly known as Plaisir, and also known as Melancholia (formerly, during her corruption), is one of the main characters in LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow and LOTM: Star Spangled Crown. She was once a enchanted fairy who liked to take her human form as legendary Joan of Arc, the historical heroine she admired. She acts as one of the most recurring heroines in LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow. She is the only woman that Michael Langdon fell in love with, though he used her as his tool.
Despite her heroic true personality, because of her actions under her Melancholia persona, Plaisir (as Melancholia at that time) is the main antagonist of LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow Spin-Off - Firenza Junior and one of the major antagonists in LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow - Horsemen Saga. She is also one of the main protagonists of LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow - Anti-Christ Saga.
Once a pure-hearted fairy with no sense of hatred and sorrow, Plaisir was forced to taste her sorrow when Moloch invaded her homeland and killed her family & friends in front of her. Then, Plaisir's mind was broken and turned into Melancholia, an evil fairy filled with nothing but despair and hatred towards mankind. She hated Moloch and was unwilling to serve her tyrannical master, until she met Michael Langdon before falling in love with him, but her Melancholia personality had twisted her mind and making her someone who will zealously defending Michael's atrocities.
To date, Plaisir is considered as one of the earliest and one of the most sorrowful victims of Moloch, as the latter murdered her entire family and corrupted her into an insane monster a long time before Moloch took control upon the Hessians. After making her as nothing a maid, Moloch treats her as a tool and always shuts her out to make her taste the feelings of solitude, which is Plaisir's greatest fear. She hated Moloch but she was also forced to be his servant since she had no choice.
However, her life changed when Michael Langdon met her and had her as his apprentice, being the very first member of the Langdon Orphans as well as its leader. Inside Plaisir's mind, Michael was the first man who persuaded Moloch to be more open to Plaisir/Melancholia. Therefore, due to her gratitude out of being needed by someone so warm and comforting, Plaisir/Melancholia's love and blind loyalty towards Michael could be justified since he was the one who saved her from the hellhole of solitude, but without realizing that Michael was no less cruel than Moloch.
Her split personality of Melancholia, on the other hand, developed a perverted fixation towards Michael and would do anything for him, even to the point of killing herself. The two personalities combined together and made Plaisir the secondary member of the Fallen Roman Catholic Church as we all knew. As Melancholia, Plaisir never sees herself as a villainous role in Michael's plan, but a hero who does what she should do.
Even so, Plaisir's original personality was awakened after Michael betrayed her, causing an internal conflict which ended by the serum of Dr. Jekyll, which helped to cast the purely evil Melancholia out. After the defeat of the serum Melancholia and the destruction of Moloch, Plaisir returned to her original benevolent personality and joined forces of heroes to atone her sins, after being accepted by Katarina Couteau and Ichabod Crane to join forces against Balam Alliance. Eventually, she felt happy when finally earning a happy ending she always desired, which she was loved and respected by everyone.
Even so, Plaisir still harbored feelings towards Michael since she knew that Michael was once a lost soul as well, and she would help other souls in order to prevent themselves from becoming the evil Michael that tormented her. Plaisir always denied that Michael who cared about her and Michael who tormented her was the same person, believing Michael was also twisted by the cruel world and it was her duty to make it right. Her point was in fact correct, since Michael also suffered abuse and bullying in his childhood and lost the last part of his humanity.
Overview[]
Plaisir[]

Plasir before her corruption
Once, as a light fairy named Plaisir, Melancholia was light-hearted and lived inside Enchanted Forest with happiness. She always pursued happiness and will be happy to see others be happy.
However, after seeing her friends burned down her best friends and tormented her, corrupted her until she became his loyal killing machine, Melancholia became a twisted fairy who loves to see people cry and drinks their tears. Her darker personality reflected many monsters who served Moloch - heartless, cruel and egotistic.
In Old Timeline, she survived Years of Tribulation and became loyal to Triggers Hell when World War III started, and she built a evil organization named Neo-Hellfire to honor Moloch. During this time, she hid herself under the ocean, watching the war raging on while planning to unleash a great flood on Earth.

Plaisir's smile
However, after the New Timeline Melancholia (pacted with Michael and became his apprentice) possessed her, the future Melancholia returned to be loyal with Moloch. She also fell in love with Michael and will do anything for him as long as he pleased.
After Michael's apparent death, the past Melancholia fell into disillusions and tried to restore her twisted romance by "bringing back" Michael, and she kept capturing humans and transformed them into a Michael after another, making their voice, physical appearance and even genes are as same as him.
However, what she did not know is that Michael's soul fragment had observed everything secretly. Once she completed the 4000th Michael, Melancholia was imprisoned by Michael and her soul was devoured, and all of her clones and the entire Neo-Hellfire had been taken over by Michael's Legion, proving that Melancholia/Plaisir was nothing more than just a pawn to Michael, not a lover.
After all of the abuse she had suffered, Melancholia had finally seen through Michael's true nature and eventually turned to hate him, and so she manage to resist her evil side's control and cast "her" out and eventually defeated her.

Plaisir after turning into a Nether Host
When James Colby had brought Moloch to Sword of Kings universe via his painting, the heroic Melancholia/Plaisir arrived at the future and merged with her revived future self again though this time, only her original Plaisir personality existed since the serum Melancholia was cast out). This time, after becoming a unique Plaisir, she joined forces of heroes to wipe Michael's Legion, Moloch's Army and possessed zombies as much as she could, eventually betraying Michael, Moloch and Leohart, thus redeeming herself.
After Moloch had defeated and all of the Team Witness had returned back to 2020 as the Years of Tribulation was over, Plaisir chose to stay with Katarina Couteau in order to fight against Triggers Hell, Moloch's remnants, Michael's Legion, Fallen Church remnants and eventually the Fallen (Isaac Westcott) himself.
After the Fallen's final death, Plaisir lived for 5 billions years since fairies are immortal. However, after the Darkness itself reemerged at Multi-Universe, Michael Langdon (escaped from Triggers Hell and hid himself to expand his legion secretly) had sprung to life once more. Michael's secret return also brought back his reign of the Fallen Roman Catholic Church as a new Dark Empire. After knowing Michael's resurrection, Plaisir set out to wipe out the demonic forces that haunted her for 5 billions of years.

Lore - Plaisir's Afterlife[]
Thousands of Years after the Tribulations
Purgatory
Prison For the Sin of Wrath

"So, the next soul is cleansed and the sins in his life derails. Another sinner has paid his bill. King Minos never fails."
Chanting an improvised song, tears of snowflakes began to flow down the snow fairy's pale and soft cheek. Plaisir, the final survivor of the Permafrost Clan in Snow Fairies, sat on a tree of Purgatory, looking at winter days in the renewed Purgatory and closed her eyes. She would be here for an eternity, guarding the cleansed Purgatory as its new Patron Goddess forever and ever, until fate make her apart. She then lifted a side of her lips and hugged the doll inside her arms tighter. Her eyes was shining in silver, and it came from the Nether Crystal sealing inside her, as a replacement of her heart.
- Plaisir My parents would be happy to see this... a renewed world, a renewed universe. Don't you think so... Melancholia?

The doll inside her arms started to whimper, as all of a sudden, Plaisir was dragged into her own mind palace, where she was greeted by a shadow with blue eyes. The shadow then transformed into a white-haired woman stood in front of her and stared at her in irritation. It was Melancholia, the darker side of Plaisir, now co-existing with her after redeemed from her sorrow and despair.
- Melancholia: Don't make me tear you apart! You should have thank me for allowing you to take down the Dark Curse and then Planet Sorensen! That's how the Period of Tribulation ends! And you reward me by sealing me inside a baby doll and hug tight inside your arm? Come on, you're choking me. Besides, bah, I hate the color white after all. Can't you see I'm wearing black armor?
Plaisir kept her smile and shook her head, but then she went forward to Melancholia and looked at her darker self thoroughly.
- Plaisir: Your hair and skin are white after all.
Melancholia gasped and stepped back, gulping as Plaisir pointed at Melancholia's face, laughing like a kid who made fun out of adults.
- Plaisir: Got you!
- Melancholia: Hmph, not funny!

Sighed, Melancholia immediately face-palmed herself and sighed in frustration, but then she looked at her brighter counterpart, Plaisir, with a tendering visage.
- Melancholia: For so many years, we lived inside one body and we once shared the same goal, to cleanse humanity and control the forces of Moloch in order to seek vengeance, which is an intention that made us literally one. However, as you're in Purgatory, is there anything that you feel regretful?
"...................................."
- Plaisir: About Michael Langdon?
Plaisir immediately realized what Melancholia was on about, and Melancholia nodded, confirming the theory. She then kept silent for a moment and then she looked at her hands.
- Plaisir: Probably, yes and no. I'm feeling so complicated about his demise, as somehow I'm the only person who's still mourning him, feeling sorry for him... This is really weird, and at times I hate myself that I had such a feelings. However, I have no regret in stopping him, and I have no intention to avenge him. I just mourned his former self, before he was that uncaring and sadistic.

Melancholia sighed as she followed Plaisir walking inside the snow. Plaisir then walked passed the Purgatory souls and walked passed the ruins after Moloch's demise, which she tried to rebuild.
- Plaisir: People always asked me, "Don't you feel pressured? To have Supreme Croatoan Virus, a Nether Crystal and an alter-ego inside you, you must be frustrated." Maybe, this guarding need is my own punishment, and I need to fulfill my own destiny.
Plaisir then closed her eyes and remembered all the wrongs she did. Her confrontation against Michael Langdon, her former lover, once torn her apart. She tried to drive Melancholia out, but it ultimately backfired, and an avatar of Moloch inside her - taking for due to Melancholia being weakened - took her form and wrecked havoc. She had to reunite with Melancholia so that she could take it down. Even long before that, she was Melancholia, the founder of Langdon Orphans and the one responsible for the creation of FOLIE and the Supreme Croatoan Virus.
First thinking about her former beloved, Plaisir then thought about all of the darkness and demons she faced, and she clenched her fist. Melancholia walked behind her and said no word.
- Plaisir: Michael loved me, indeed, and I'm feeling complicated. Anyway, he's no less than a page that I had to let it go. Michael, as well as Moloch, Leohart, and Ara Astaroth... They're all gone, but they formed an unfathomably large scale of rogue gallery I have ever seen. Many would rise in future and take their place, I swear.

Melancholia silently looked at Plaisir as she stopped walking. However, Melancholia didn't notice this, so she started to speak as she went on walking.
- Melancholia: Well, all right, I still have doubts but I believe you're right. There's life we need to rescue even if there's evil and hatred across the universe. So we need to... WHOA!
Before she could finish, Melancholia practically ran into Plaisir, knocking her off the hillside. Plaisir then snapped out of her mind palace, before she noticed that she tripped over.
She grabbed the Melancholia doll in her hand and waved her arm to keep balance, but it was too late. She lost her balance before she screamed and rolled all the way down the snowy hill, from the level for Wrath to the level for Envy and Pride. Witnessed by several startled animals, Plaisir rolled all the way across the snow and turned into a gigantic snowball.
- Plaisir: HEEEEEEEEEEELP~~~~~~!!!
Plaisir rolled all the way down towards the bottom of the Purgatory, until the snowball hit a tree and smashed into some pieces, freeing Plaisir as the latter crawled from the snow, now utterly wet and messy. The Melancholia Dool was still inside her hand.
- Plaisir: Oh, where am I?
Plaisir stood up and hugged her doll, looking around and discovered she was now standing inside a white desert of snow.
- Plaisir: The bottom of Purgatory...
As the two minds merged into one and the same again, Melancholia Doll whimpered and wen quiet again as Plaisir hugged the doll tight inside her arms, and she looked around with some sheer shock, anger and a fit of embarrassment.
Plaisir then walked towards the white snow, looking at the flat white desert and started to take a deep breath. She suddenly felt lonely, seeing no other people around her. She then clenched her fists before she finished her interrupted thoughts. She didn't notice that someone, with a large cake, started to approach her.
- Plaisir: If they try to come and get me, let them come. Ha, I fear no challenge and I fear no duty, not at all. It's sad that I'm going alone... but I have to keep this. This is my destiny...
- ???: But sometimes you just need to lay down and have a rest, am I right?

Plaisir turned back when she heard a female voice and felt warmth behind her.
- Plaisir: WHO'S THERE?
- ???: A friend.
Plaisir was surprised. She immediately turned back in shock and saw nobody behind her. She then lowed down and saw a large birthday cake. She then looked at a card on the cake, written in a beautiful handwriting.
- Card: [Be happy all day long, Plaisir. You've done well in your duties, but please don't push yourself. Sometimes, you just need to find your happiness so that you can feel it. Happy Birthday. Yours, Maria Arzonia]
Plaisir poked the cake and had a taste on its cream. It's an ice cream cake. Plaisir smiled as she felt some warmth filled her heart. She thought she would be alone in Purgatory with her own split personality as her only companion, but even after so many years, there's still someone who remembered her... Someone who had been looking herself for a family, something that Plaisir lost long ago and yearned for a long time.
- Plaisir: The Angel of Flame... She got me there... Am I right, another me?
Plaisir was pleased. She made her wish, and she blew the candles out. The doll in her arms smiled as well.
Description[]
Name[]
The name Plaisir is a French word for "pleasure" originated from Old French plaisir, from Latin placēre, present active infinitive of placeō. Pleasure describes the broad class of mental states that humans and other animals experience as positive, enjoyable, or worth seeking. It includes more specific mental states such as happiness, entertainment, enjoyment, ecstasy, and euphoria. The early psychological account of pleasure, the pleasure principle, describes it as a positive feedback mechanism, motivating the organism to recreate in the future the situation which it has just found pleasurable and to avoid situations that have caused pain in the past.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Plaisir[]

Before her corruption into Melancholia, Plaisir was a kind, loving and pure-hearted fairy who cared for weak and poor. She likes legendary female heroines like Joan of Arc and always liked to role-play her, being naive like a ignorant child.
However, she was not just a self-bragging hero. In fact, Plaisir is a helpful person who helped Ichabod several times to help those who was in need after her redemption, including raising funds for those who had suffered in war, plagues, famine as well as poverty. She did not mind shaking hands with lepers of hug with patients infected with HIV, showing her benevolence as well as kind nature as a natural forest fairy.
Despite her kind heart, Plaisir was also a person with poor judgement of characters, and therefore she (after turning into Melancholia though still hating Moloch) fell into Michael Langdon's lie and fell in love with him, wanting him to become her best friend. The pure-good Plaisir had an importance to the Fusion Melancholia, since if the evil "Serum" Melancholia, also known as Mercedes, completely takes hold, she could have killing countless and countless people by releasing her devilish fairy power, causing a dystopia future that nobody, not even her, shall existed. It shows that Plaisir still retains free will.

Despite everything he did, Plaisir still mourned Michael after the latter's death
However, as a part of fusion Melancholia, Plaisir's own personality was torn apart as well since she did not see Michael's true nature in time despite knowing his plan and tried as hard as she could to delay it, only be inverted by the evil Melancholia. Therefore, Melancholia herself was internally unstable, and this instability was shown when her future self was destroyed and her past self was awakened from her coma, departing from her love one.
Even so, Plaisir finally realized the true nature of Michael upon seeing him controlled Nether Sorensen the Demon Prince as his new vessel and planned to exterminate every living beings including her. Then, that was how Melancholia became internally unstable even more, which ended up as the good Melancholia (Plaisir) cast the evil one (Serum Melancholia) out of her body. Later, Plaisir showed valiant courage while standing against her evil self who tried to fuse with her once again, trying to resist all the ways which the Serum Melancholia tried in order to drive her insane.
In spite of showing no hesitance in stopping Michael Langdon, Plaisir was visibly painful when Ichabod Crane struck Michael with the Sword of Methuselah, and she showed grief to the dying man who once made her smile. Dressing her wedding gown Michael made for her one year after the War of Anti-Christ, Plaisir is the only person in LOTM: Star Spangled Crown that still mourned Michael.
Fusion Melancholia[]

Melancholia with Michael's hood while pretending to be him in her deluded mind
Even after turning into Melancholia, Plaisir's own quality did not die out. She committed evil only because she was pressed by the true evil Melancholia (aka the Serum Melancholia) and could not be freed no matter how hard she tried to control her evil deeds. After she saw her "savior" Michael Langdon's true nature, Plaisir finally managed to brake free with the help of Dr. Jekyll, and soon she regretted everything she did during her time as the "Fusion Melancholia". Then, she started to redeem herself.
Because of her care, gratitude and romantic love for Michael, the Fusion Melancholia who still had some sides of Plaisir, is not a Complete Monster, but still she has ruthless and psychopathic traits. Like Moloch, Melancholia has no tolerance to fools or failure. She even stabbed a minion of hers to death simply because he did not waked her up. At first, she hated humanity and considered humans as threats because long as she lived, she had witnessed corruptions, dictatorship and war. Her views of humanity was the same of Michael's view.

Michael and Plaisir
Melancholia also suffered from a split personality and she sometimes talking to a shadowy Michael inside her deluded mind, and she even dressed up as Michael while attacking Patraich Krans, Acqua of the Back and Orthodox Church clergies in Siberia. When her hood were hit down by the Patraich, Melancholia looked at herself within the mirror. Realized that she was playing Michael's role in her deluded mind, Melancholia screamed in terror before she escaped, showing her love for Michael had drove her mad. However, she was still deluded that she could not figured out that her "Michael" persona was planted by the original Michael inside her body in order to drive her insane.
Despite being menacing, Melancholia is not a completely serious person, since she had a dark sense of humor and loved to use sarcasm, making her sense of humor seemed twisted, but she could be a comic relief as well in certain circumstances.
Also, her romantic love for Michael - though she genuinely loved Michael at first, not seeing him as a possession - had became twisted when Michael made her a lure to make Carl Robinson came close to the cocoon of FOLIE, thus killing her future counterpart, hatching FOLIE prematurely and driving the past Melancholia as insane as Michael himself. Unknowing for Michael's demonic plan to outlive Melancholia so that he could release FOLIE earlier, Melancholia blamed Carl for her failure to raise FOLIE on Earth, since the love she had on Michael had blinded her.
After becoming a hero and joined the final stand, Plaisir embraced the true happiness she had always wished from Ichabod and his friends - a kind of true happiness that she never received from Michael or the outcome of letting people cry. It was a hard and unbelievable road to redemption since many people once considered Plaisir as an irredeemable monster like the serum Melancholia.

History[]
Relationships[]
Evil Melancholia[]
Michael Langdon[]

Plaisir and Michael's first date
As Melancholia, Plaisir's devotion to Michael was overzealous. She was so devoted to Michael that she wanted to bring down the world and purify the humanity in an extreme way for his newer and better plans. Believing herself to be a victim of social apathy, Plaisir (upon her transformation into Melancholia) attempted to "cure" the world by using first Firenza Blood to show people their darker self, and then FOLIE to purge everything that is malevolent inside the world to build a new world.
However, deep inside Plaisir's mind (where she was not tarnished by Melancholia's evil persona), Plaisir was an insecure person who had a little confidence that her relationships with Michael will continue, just like her in-confidence upon her overall plans. Such a relationship also gone frosty in Anti-Christ Saga, where Plaisir separated herself from Melancholia persona and joined Team Witness to stop Michael's evil plans. Plaisir's love turned into hate when she suspected that Michael betrayed her, but after seeing Michael's demise, Plaisir still showed concern to him and cried in front of a dying Michael, giving him a kiss as he accepted his fate and bid farewell.
By the end of Anti-Christ Saga, Plaisir is the only person who mourned Michael's demise in spite of knowing what he did, and even after Moloch's demise, she was still mourning him. It's revealed that Michael was the one who made Plaisir smile for the first time, not as Melancholia, but as herself. Considering Moloch and Twelve Nethers' evil attitude to Plaisir, Michael is the first person who really cared for Plaisir. Plaisir says to Maria that her feelings and devotions shown in her Melancholia personality was out of her own genuine feelings, which makes it short, both Melancholia and Plaisir are in love with Michael.

Michael, Plaisir and Leonardo
When she was demanded the reason, Plaisir said that Michael was the only person who was genuinely kind to her and made her smile, and therefore she loves him. She compares herself to Eva Braun to Michael's Adolf Hitler, saying that even someone like Hitler cared for his woman.
Plaisir explained that she made her own soul (with both personality) from Past Sleepy Hollow merged together with her soul (also with both personality) in the future after the Liberty City War, so that she will avoid a time paradox in case her past self was destroyed, as it will cause all of her time spent with Michael during WWIII will be erased. She won't allow those memories disappeared.
As for Michael, things was a little different. Michael at first treated Plaisir / Melancholia as nothing but a tool to reach his final goal, but he genuinely expressed concern when he discovered that Plaisir/Melancholia was in danger and immediately rushed to Underwater Base, when he found that Plaisir/Melancholia failed to respond him and the Base wasn't blew up as planned. He arrived just in time when Carl destroyed FOLIE.
As time progressed, Michael felt affections from Melancholia/Plaisir when they met again in Conquest Arc, and he treated her as his true friend instead of a tool, but this later turned sour after Michael activated the crystal power of Nether Sorensen the Demon Prince. Under the influence of Sorensen, Michael eventually abandoned his feelings to Plaisir, forcing her to turn against him begrudgingly. In spite of this, Michael eventually returned back to his former self when he was stripped from the power of Nether Crystal, bidding his final goodbye with Plaisir and died.
By the end of LOTM: Destiny, after Plaisir sacrificed herself to chain Michael into Hell, the two still showed some affectionate moments as they kissed together before disappearing in bursts of blue flames and blue butterflies. Eventually, Michael and Plaisir reconcile in Hell and watched the Multi-Universe returned back to peace once more after the Darkness and New Balam Alliance fell into ruins. Both of them had eventually found their happiness and peace when they're dead, ironically.

Deep down, Plaisir was having a respect towards Maria after they met (although Plaisir was Melancholia at that time), and Plaisir was interested in Maria's power and would be glad to engage her into a fight, not for antagonizing her but for a curiosity.
During the final fight between Melancholia and Carl Robinson's team, due to the holy light released by Maria, Plaisir managed to broke free and called Maria for help, wanting her to get rid of Melancholia's dark spirit out from her, as the Supreme Croat form for her became utterly unstable and started to corrupt. Therefore, it was obvious that Plaisir was trying to ask Maria for help, urging Maria to attack her so that she would be free from her evil counterpart. At this time, Maria had discovered the past of Melancholia (Plaisir), but she cannot attack Plaisir due to the fear of killing both of the counterparts. What was more, Maria was dismayed that Plaisir was falling under Michael Langdon's lies, and Maria found Plaisir tragic. Even if she was controlled by her evil part once again, in order to protect Maria, Plaisir managed to sacrifice herself to defeat Melancholia.
After her awakening in Purgatory, Plaisir was controlled by her evil counterpart once again, and ultimately, Maria became one of her saviors, not Michael. After being freed, Plaisir eventually sealed her friendship with Maria, and they competed with each other in order to become stronger, forming a sisterly bond in process. Plaisir eventually became a good friend with Maria, and even after turning into the Goddess of Purgatory, Plaisir still wrote letter to Maria very often.
Pure of Heart Proposals[]

"You mean... after all these times... we could have been friends? Then, please allow me to be your friend. I know I once turned bossy... and monstrous... but I am genuinely sorry. Allow me to have a chance to fix this."
The "good" Melancholia, or referred as her true name, Plaisir, was turned into a tragic villainess who thirst for blood. However, the true kind personality of Plaisir never died out even being pressed hard by her evil counterpart. Once living in the Enchanted Forest, Plaisir was a naive fairy who liked to portray Joan of Arc, a legendary heroine she admired, and she was fond of helping others in need and deemed no rewards from them. However, facing the death of her family and friends due to Moloch's murderous manslaughter, Plaisir turned from a girl with everything she loves to a girl who lost everything she loves, eventually turning into Melancholia, a twisted evil fairy with a much more brutal personality. Even so, at heart, Plaisir was stuck in the thirst of revenge as well as the desire to save her world from war. During her time as Melancholia, Plaisir deeply fell in love with the Anti-Christ, Michael Langdon who once promised her to overthrow Moloch in order to avenge her family and friends. She believed Michael gave her hope despite some mysterious voice (turned out to be her old self) urged her to either kill or leave Michael in order to end his dreadful plans, yet she was too naive to heed this warning. Due to her personality instability similar to Katarina Couteau, the life of Plaisir (as Melancholia) was like a roller-coaster, since sometimes she could be pretty friendly due to her pure-good past self, whereas sometimes she would be as blood-thirsty as any evil person from the forces of Moloch due to her vile evil counterpart. For a while, she even sunk into some sort of blood-thirst insanity and for some times she was the main antagonist in several arcs. However, many of those was caused by the internal conflict which Plaisir tried to resist her evil self and break free from Moloch's control. Believing Fallen Roman Catholic Church was made of good, Melancholia/Plaisir did so that she and Michael would ended up happily forever and bring happiness across the world, help people in need, even for the cost of many life of whom she deemed as enemies. Under the manipulation of her evil counterpart, Plaisir made their first agreement to construct FOLIE, since she believed it could eventually wipe out the most evil side of humanity (including the KnightWalker Family) and recreate the world which was scarred by the war, branding the Fallen Roman Catholic Church itself as a Noah's Ark. However, even after all she had done to wipe out "crime" in her mind, as she even start turning criminals into Michael's clones, she was still deserted by a returned Michael. Horrified to see Michael earned the power from Nether Sorensen the Demon Prince, Plaisir finally abandoned all her hope and almost fell into her despair, but soon she started to struggle and finally cast her evil self out from her body. Feeling sorry for what she had done as Melancholia, the freed Plaisir immediately helped the Team Witness to defeat Michael Langdon in his Sorensen form, cast her evil self alongside all those evil things she had committed into Hell, as well as channeling the soul of Grace Dixon to erase many of Michael's time-altering effects to save the time from breaking down as well as protecting the Paradise from destruction. After all those events, the purified Plaisir eventually matured and started to help others as much as she could, just like her old self once did. She never ever avoid herself from talking about her past as Melancholia since she knew that she must not forget what she had done as a villain, in order to prevent herself from descending into madness once again. Being THE most complicated heroine in LOTM: Witnesses of Sleepy Hollow storyline, Plaisir could have become a Complete Monster due to her atrocities as Melancholia, and yet she managed to save herself from the destruction and purified her own soul. Plaisir eventually earned the happy ending of her own, knowing what the true meaning of happiness was not out of selfish reasons but out of selfless devotions, which her old self represents.

- "Everyone is what they are and where they are for a reason. Terrible things happen for a reason. Take what happened to you, Rumpelstiltskin, when you were a child. If not for your fall into the Dark One after your mother abandoned you, you wouldn't be here helping the Lord's Chosen bring his light into the world. Knowledge has made you powerful. But there's still so much you don't know. Do you remember what you heard that night when the sorcerer tossed your parts in the fire? You heard a voice call out from the flames. Do you remember? Should I tell you what the voice said? Should I tell you the name of the one who spoke?"
- "Death is coming for everyone and everything ... a darkness that will swallow the dawn."
- "I had an ability to see an artifact's past via touching itself or information about it, so I saw those things. While possessing my future self, I told this to Michael, and he immediately set out a plan to get that book from Vatican, and therefore setting his plot. In fact, my role in this plan shall never be ignored. Without me, Michael can never know that the Catholics locked the Grand Grimoire inside St. Peter's Ballisca. Without me, we will never build our new legends based on Scathach's dark legacy. The world became so messy now, but after a litter stir from us, it is all going to change."

- "You may started to hate me, but sadly, this is who I am, and as long as I can see Michael smile, I will do anything for him! For years, I helped Michael to conceal evidence by making the corpses of our victims into bio-weapons, especially into our masterpiece - FOLIE, which is our mightiest work to recreate the Great Flood! However, this time there shall be no Noah's Ark. Since Moloch burned my friends to make me join him, I started to hate fire. So, I am gonna use water, the greatest foe of fire, to wipe out humanity's disgrace and corruption. The KnightWalker Family? They'll drown. Stalinists? Nazis? Fascists? Imperialists? They'll all drown, and the world will eventually bow down to us into a world full of purity and peace... and then WE WON'T NEED MOLOCH ANYMORE. We will dump him like a trash and rule the world ourselves."
- "I'm no longer afraid of cold... Not anymore. I, myself, am now becoming... the coldness."
Quotes about Plaisir[]
- "Plaisir, I'm sorry... I wasn't listening... I'm still thinking that day, 5 billions years ago, when you tried to see me smile and even teach me how to smile... Seeing the fall of the Darkness and New Balam Alliance could be a punishment for me, as the Multi-Universe started to become peaceful again, but with you at my side... I can endure every single torture. This is what I deserved for everything I did. My only regret is that I used you as a tool... but now we can be together. You reserved your smile only to me, Plaisir, and I'm grateful for that... No one ever smiled at me when I was alone, but you did. You're my only love." - Michael Langdon, after he and Plaisir being sealed together in Hell together (in LOTM: Destiny)

Trivia[]
- It seemed odd, but Plaisir is the only woman that Michael Langdon ever loved in his life. Despite at first using her as a tool, Michael later confessed his feelings to Plaisir by the end LOTM: Destiny, when Plaisir already sacrificed herself to seal Michael in Hell (which he peacefully accepted) that he did developed his own feeling to Plaisir, admitting that he did love her.
- As of Anti-Christ Saga, Plaisir would only give her smile to Michael, who was the first person genuinely cared about her, while encouraging him to smile as well. However, Plaisir never smiled in front of others. After the death of Michael, Plaisir smiled more since Michael wished her to be happier without him trying to use her.
- Even after knowing Michael's demonic nature, Plaisir still silently mourned Michael since at least he did cared for her once, but she decided to move on from his death. She only missed Michael before his ascension into the Pope. The love relationship between Michael and Plaisir was inspired the love relationship with Adolf Hitler and his lover, Eva Braun.
- Plaisir acts as the polar opposite to Maria, not only showing ice ability against Maria's fire magic, but also lost her faith in justice and humanity gradually after her trauma, since there were no one trying to support her until Michael arrived. Even though suspecting that Michael used her as his tool, she would be willing to become one to make Michael the king of the world and punish humanity and Moloch for what he did to her kin.

Joan of Arc[]

Joan of Arc (French: Jeanne d'Arc,[5] IPA: [ʒan daʁk]; 6 January c. 1412 – 30 May 1431), nicknamed "The Maid of Orléans" (French: La Pucelle d'Orléans), is considered a heroine of France for her role during the Lancastrian phase of the Hundred Years' War and was canonized as a Roman Catholic saint. Joan of Arc was born to Jacques d'Arc and Isabelle Romée, a peasant family, at Domrémy in north-east France. Joan said she received visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine of Alexandria instructing her to support Charles VII and recover France from English domination late in the Hundred Years' War. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent Joan to the siege of Orléans as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence after the siege was lifted only nine days later. Several additional swift victories led to Charles VII's coronation at Reims. This long-awaited event boosted French morale and paved the way for the final French victory.
On 23 May 1430, she was captured at Compiègne by the Burgundian faction, which was allied with the English. She was later handed over to the English and put on trial by the pro-English Bishop of Beauvais Pierre Cauchon on a variety of charges. After Cauchon declared her guilty she was burned at the stake on 30 May 1431, dying at about nineteen years of age.
In 1456, an inquisitorial court authorized by Pope Callixtus III examined the trial, debunked the charges against her, pronounced her innocent, and declared her a martyr. In the 16th century she became a symbol of the Catholic League, and in 1803 she was declared a national symbol of France by the decision of Napoleon Bonaparte. She was beatified in 1909 and canonized in 1920. Joan of Arc is one of the nine secondary patron saints of France, along with Saint Denis, Saint Martin of Tours, Saint Louis, Saint Michael, Saint Rémi, Saint Petronilla, Saint Radegund and Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.
Joan of Arc has remained a popular figure in literature, painting, sculpture, and other cultural works since the time of her death, and many famous writers, filmmakers and composers have created works about her. Cultural depictions of her have continued in films, theater, television, video games, music, and performances to this day.
Eva Braun[]

Eva Anna Paula Hitler (née Braun; 6 February 1912 – 30 April 1945) was the longtime companion of Adolf Hitler and, for less than 40 hours, his wife. Braun met Hitler in Munich when she was a 17-year-old assistant and model for his personal photographer; she began seeing him often about two years later. She attempted suicide twice during their early relationship. By 1936, she was a part of his household at the Berghof near Berchtesgaden and lived a sheltered life throughout World War II. Braun was a photographer, and many of the surviving color photographs and films of Hitler were taken by her. She was a key figure within Hitler's inner social circle, but did not attend public events with him until mid-1944, when her sister Gretl married Hermann Fegelein, the SS liaison officer on his staff.
As Nazi Germany was collapsing towards the end of the war, Braun swore loyalty to Hitler and went to Berlin to be by his side in the heavily reinforced Führerbunker beneath the Reich Chancellery. As Red Army troops fought their way into the neighborhood on 29 April 1945, she married Hitler during a brief civil ceremony; she was 33 and he was 56. Less than 40 hours later, they committed suicide together in a sitting room of the bunker, she by biting into a capsule of cyanide, and he by a gunshot to the head. The German public was unaware of Braun's relationship with Hitler until after their deaths.
Margaret of Valois[]

Margaret of Valois (French: Marguerite, 14 May 1553 – 27 March 1615) was a French princess of the Valois dynasty who became queen consort of Navarre and later also of France.
A daughter of King Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici, Margaret was the sister of kings Francis II, Charles IX and Henry III, and of Elisabeth of Valois Queen of Spainas well as Claude of France. Charles IX arranged for her to marry a distant cousin, King Henry III of Navarre, and she thus became Queen of Navarre in 1572. In 1589, after all her brothers had died leaving no sons, Margaret's husband, the senior-most agnostic heir to France (the "Prince du sang"), succeeded to the French throne as Henry IV, the first Bourbon King of France.
A queen of two kingdoms, Margaret was subjected to many political manipulations, including being held prisoner (albeit at a comfortable castle) by her own brother, Henry III of France, for many years. However, her life was anything but passive. She was famous for her beauty and sense of style, notorious for a licentious lifestyle, and also proved a competent memoirist. She was indeed one of the most fashionable women of her time, and influenced many of Europe's royal courts with her clothing.
Margaret took many lovers both during her marriage and after its annulment, of whom the best-known are Joseph Boniface de La Môle, Jacques de Harlay, Seigneur de Champvallon and Louis de Bussy d'Amboise. While imprisoned, she took advantage of the time to write her memoirs, which included a succession of stories relating to the disputes of her brothers Charles IX and Henry III with her husband. The memoirs were published posthumously in 1628.
Erwin Rommel[]

Erwin Rommel (15 November 1891 – 14 October 1944), popularly known as the Desert Fox, was a field marshal (senior military commander) in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany during World War II. Rommel supported the Nazi seizure of power and Adolf Hitler, although his attitude towards Nazi ideology and level of knowledge of the regime's crimes remain a matter of debate among scholars.
In 1944, Rommel was implicated in the 20 July plot to assassinate Hitler. Due to Rommel's status as a national hero, Hitler desired to eliminate him quietly. Rommel was given a choice between committing suicide, in return for assurances that his family would not be persecuted following his death, or facing a trial that would result in his execution; he chose the former and, shortly after, committed suicide using a cyanide pill. Rommel was given a state funeral, and it was announced that he had succumbed to his injuries from the strafing of his staff car in Normandy.
Rommel has become a larger than life figure in both Allied and Nazi propaganda, with numerous authors considering him an apolitical, brilliant commander and a victim of the Third Reich although this assessment is contested by other authors as the Rommel myth. Rommel's reputation for conducting a clean war was used in the interest of the West German rearmament and reconciliation between the former enemies – the United Kingdom and the United States on one side and the new Federal Republic of Germany on the other.
Diana, Princess of Wales[]

Diana, Princess of Wales (Diana Frances; née Spencer; 1 July 1961 – 31 August 1997), was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, who is the eldest child and heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II.
Diana was born into a family of British nobility with royal ancestry and was the fourth child and third daughter of John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, and the Honorable Frances Roche. She grew up in Park House, situated on the Sandringham estate, and was educated in England and Switzerland. In 1975, after her father inherited the title of Earl Spencer, she became known as Lady Diana Spencer. She came to prominence in February 1981 when her engagement to Prince Charles was announced.
Her wedding to the Prince of Wales on 29 July 1981, held at St Paul's Cathedral, reached a global television audience of over 750 million people. While married, Diana bore the titles Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, and Countess of Chester. The marriage produced two sons, the princes William and Harry, who were then respectively second and third in the line of succession to the British throne. As Princess of Wales, Diana undertook royal duties on behalf of the Queen and represented her at functions overseas. She was celebrated for her charity work and for her support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. She was involved with dozens of charities including London's Great Ormond Street Hospital for children, of which she was president from 1989.
Diana remained the object of worldwide media scrutiny during and after her marriage, which ended in divorce on 28 August 1996. Media attention and public mourning were extensive after her death in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997 and subsequent televised funeral.
Fictional Inspirations[]
Night Rogue[]

Night Rogue is the leader of the enigmatic organization Faust and one of the main antagonists of Kamen Rider Build. His true identity is Gentoku Himuro, son of Touto Prime Minister Taizan Himuro and head of the Touto Institute of Advanced Matter Physics.
He is responsible for the experiments carried out on Sento Kiryu and Ryuga Banjou and later for abducting Ryuga's girlfriend Kasumi and turning her into a Smash. After being banished from Touto, he starts working for Namba and becomes their Kamen Rider hired by Seito, Kamen Rider Rogue. He also appears as the protagonist of the three-part ROGUE Blu-Ray miniseries which details his origins.
Gentoku is a composed and generally calm man, rarely changing his tone of voice unless agitated. Underneath his cool exterior, he is a man with questionable morals at best: he flirted with a journalist, and referred to Ryuga Banjou and Sento Kiryu as toys, as well as his fiery temper whenever he commands his soldiers. During a conversation with Gentoku, Blood Stalk reveals that Gentoku's goal is to mass produce Kamen Rider technology from his experiments for military use. Gentoku is determined to see this project succeed and will do everything he can to silence or stop anyone who will interfere with this plan. He also didn't hesitate to kill his decoy with his own hand to get press in his favor. As Night Rogue, he is a malicious control freak. Seeing innocent people as mere guinea pigs, he doesn't hesitate to experiment on them, even when fully knowing that his subjects would be too weak to survive. Despite his cold and calculating personality, Gentoku has his own standards and shows little to no tolerance with insubordination. He is easily vexed each time Blood Stalk goes against his orders, which drives a wedge between their collaboration. He is also appalled when Stalk put his father to the hospital for the second time before Taizan was about to resume his duty as Prime Minister.
It is likely that his negative personality traits are a result of his exposure to Pandora Box during the Skywall disaster. This has caused his original ambitions to be perverted, believing that military force is the only way to unite the country. His father highlighted this as well, remembering how Gentoku used to be the kind person he was before the incident. Gentoku is susceptible to episodes of paranoia and aggression, urging his father that they need a military to crush Seito and Hokuto before they crush Touto, believing they are out to get the capital and superior military might can stop their advance. Eventually, his father disowned him due of his plan to invade Hokuto.
Ultimately, his actions of taking over Taizan's place as Touto Prime Minister led to his father exiling him from Touto. Following his exile and affiliation with Seito as Kamen Rider Rogue, Gentoku's malicious personality takes a nihilistic turn. He gave up everything else for the sake of strength, to the point he would go into further heights to be subjected with cruel experimentation. Having experienced 'Hell', where he was looked down and tortured, Gentoku become somewhat emotionless, no longer the hotheaded control freak that he was once. His ambition now is to destroy Touto and 'bring order' on Japan as whole. While he's shown to understand the burden of it, he has also proven to be more cruel and ruthless by killing Akaba without compassion.
He is portrayed by Kensei Mikami, who also played Teru Mikami in the 2016 live action Death Note film.
Ruler (Joan of Arc)[]

Ruler (ルーラー, Rūrā?), the Standard-Bearer who Correctly Guides the Holy Grail War (聖杯戦争を正しく導く旗手, Seihai Sensō wo Tadashiku Michibiku Kishu?), is the Ruler-class Servant in the Great Holy Grail War of Fate/Apocrypha. She is one of the Servants of Ritsuka Fujimaru of the Grand Order conflicts of Fate/Grand Order. Ruler's True Name is Jeanne d'Arc, the Saint of Orleans. A Catholic saint born in Domrémy, France, and the heroine of France who liberated Orléans in the Hundred Years' War.
Jeanne d'Arc was a common farmer's daughter. She claims she had received the command of God to fight. She heard the Lord’s lament that the world changed straight into hell. The Lord wept into sorrow as no one could stop it and people were not even allowed to live simply, and were compelled to become either beasts or food. Conflict never ended, and blood continued to rain incessantly and soak the land. She received a revelation from the Lord, the voice contained no glory or victory, no obligation or sense of purpose but only the Lord laments. She caught his small, feeble murmurs that everyone else failed to hear. She responded by throwing away her life as a simple villager and the joy of loving someone and being loved back. Furthermore, there would be no compensation. She knew she would surely be scorned by the masses of both enemies and allies alike, considering their beliefs in the church's guidelines for proper behavior in women. It was a very terrifying thing to contemplate. It was mad for a mere village girl from the countryside to leap onto the battlefield where people’s killing intent swirled about. She would not turn her back on the Lord's cries. She decided to devote her life to oppose this world’s hell to help stop the Lord’s tears and soothe Him. She clad her armor on her body, hung a sword on her waist and carried the flag. She fought alongside with Gilles de Rais.
Having been born to a peasant family, Jeanne never knew the contents of the many books of prayer. She did try hard to learn them, but it seems she was simply born incapable of reading or writing. The most she ever managed was learning how to sign her name. While she worried about this, in the end, she decided that she needed little more in order to pray to the Lord. As she recalled, one of her comrades whom rode beside her, Gilles, once laughed and promised her that this was more than enough.
They say that in reality all that happened was that she used tactics that the knights of that time didn't use out of contempt and honor. She is noted to be one of the Heroic Spirits in recent history who utilized the power of the Counter Force to accomplish her deeds as a hero.
Both Jeanne and Gilles were decorated as saviors and national heroes by King Charles in the cathedral with the Ars Nova melody playing in the background.
Marius Pontmercy[]

Marius Pontmercy (French pronunciation: [maʁjys pɔ̃mɛʁsi]) is a fictional character, one of the protagonists of Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel Les Misérables. He is a young student, and the suitor of Cosette. Believing Cosette lost to him, and determined to die, he joins the revolutionary association Friends of the ABC, which he associates with, but is not a part of, as they take part in the 1832 June Rebellion. Facing death in the fight, his life is saved by Jean Valjean, and he subsequently weds Cosette, a young woman whom Valjean had raised as his own.
When Marius first appears, he is living with his rich and monarchist grandfather, Monsieur Gillenormand. All his life, he has been told that his father (Georges Pontmercy, a colonel under Bonaparte) abandoned him to Gillenormand. Shortly after Marius turns seventeen, he is sent to see his father, who is ill. He arrives just after his father dies. His father has left Marius a note, instructing him to help Thénardier in any way possible, since the Colonel believes that Thénardier saved his life at the Battle of Waterloo.
While Marius is visiting church, Mabeuf, the church warden, tells him that his father has been coming to mass regularly, hiding behind a pillar so as to not violate an agreement with Gillenormand that would cause his son to be disinherited. Marius begins looking up his father in the official military histories and after learning that his father was a highly decorated veteran of Napoleon's army, who had been made a baron and a colonel by Napoleon Bonaparte (though neither the barony nor the rank of colonel is recognized by the current regime). As a consequence, Marius develops a kind of idol-worship of his father. After an argument with his grandfather, Marius moves out and refuses financial assistance from his family. His grandfather instructs Marius' aunt to send Marius money every month, but Marius always returns it.
Makoto Niijima[]

Makoto Niijima is a playable character in Persona 5 and a member in the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. After the murder of her father in the line of duty three years ago, Makoto is deeply apologetic that her elder sister Sae has to shoulder the burden of supporting the whole family on her own. Makoto studies really hard so that she can enter a top notch university and relieve Sae's burden once she graduates.
Now a third-year honor student and the president of the student council in Shujin Academy, she is asked by Principal Kobayakawa to investigate the possibility that the Phantom Thieves are students from their school after their volleyball coach, Suguru Kamoshida's confession and arrest. She accepts the request and is quick to deduce that the protagonist and the others are the Phantom Thieves and starts to approach them. Ann Takamaki, in particular, does not like her presence due to a rumor that says Makoto was aware of Kamoshida's true nature but kept quiet about it like everyone else to maintain a paragon image before the faculties and receive recommendation for her own benefit, a thought that Ann bitterly tells to Makoto, which disturbs her.
She begins to tail them for a while, especially the protagonist, following him whenever he is in school or even as far as Shibuya. On June 11, Makoto finally confirms her suspicions when Ryuji Sakamoto declares out loud in the courtyard of Shujin Academy that they are the Phantom Thieves. However, she decides not to give this proof to Kobayakawa and instead demands the Phantom Thieves to prove their justice by reforming an unknown mafia boss who has been extorting many students around Shibuya including those go to Shujin Academy. If they can complete the task, she will not expose their identities to anyone. Deep down, Makoto actually approves of the thieves and believes her father would think the same way. This belief annoys Sae and she blurts out that Makoto is a burden to her during a heated debate.
Makoto checks on the group as they have trouble reaching the center of mafia boss Junya Kaneshiro's Palace. Ann, Ryuji, and Yusuke point out how useless she is for not doing anything that can help them but rely on the hard works of somebody else, something that greatly upsets Makoto after being told the same thing before by her sister and remembers Goro Akechi's words about her being a pushover. To prove her worth, Makoto purposely acts as bait into the mafia so that the gang can follow behind. Once there, Kaneshiro takes photos of the group being merely present in his adult-exclusive nightclub for blackmail material. He demands 3 million yen within 3 weeks for the photos which will ruin their reputations if leaked; additionally, if they cannot pay the 3 million yen, he would force Makoto into prostitution to pay back the debt, adding that he may even keep Sae as his personal slave.
Makoto apologizes for her rash action and explains how this folly could ruin Sae's effort in raising her. She tries to think of a way to pay Kaneshiro, but Morgana suggests to make her an ally by bringing her along to Kaneshiro's Palace because she is now the "special customer" to Kaneshiro's extortion business. Entering the metaverse, a passageway is opened to allow the thieves and Makoto to access Kaneshiro's "floating bank." Makoto is confronted by Shadow Kaneshiro who taunts her by revealing his plan to extort her sister. Angered and disgusted by Kaneshiro, Makoto awakens her Persona power of Johanna and decides to join the Phantom Thieves.
Cortana[]

Cortana is a smart artificial construct and the main antagonist of the Halo Reclaimer Saga. She was the companion of series protagonist Master Chief until she was lost and presumed destroyed, but later resurfaced as leader of the Created. She is voiced by Jen Taylor, who also voices Salem from RWBY.
In the original Halo trilogy, Cortana serves as a principle protagonist whose role increases dramatically. In the Halo universe, she is instrumental in preventing the Halo installations from being fired, which would have wiped out most life in the galaxy.
In Halo 4, she experiences rampancy, causing her to become unstable and volatile until her apparent death. Resurrected in Halo 5: Guardians, Cortana ascends to a higher plain of reality and becomes the most powerful being in the galaxy. In the Halo universe, she is instrumental in preventing the Halo installations from being fired, which would have wiped out most life in the galaxy. In Halo 4, Cortana begins showing strange signs and behavior which is occurring as she has operated far past her predicted and designed seven year lifespan. Cortana's rampancy hampers the mission at times, but Cortana aids the Master Chief one last time in stopping the Didact and saving the Earth. Cortana is able to use the last of her power to shield the Master Chief from a nuclear blast with a hard-light bubble. She says a final goodbye to the Master Chief before seemingly dying.
However, multiple fragments of Cortana survived the blast aboard the remains of The Didact's ship and were pulled into slipspace with it. In the short story Domain Splinter in the book Halo: Tales From Slipspace the fragmented personalities discover the gateway to the ancient galaxy-spanning network known as The Domain, which is guarded by a Forerunner AI known as the Warden Eternal. While one of the Cortana fragments is stopped from entering and engaged by the Warden, the others managed to infiltrate The Domain, taking control of it, as well as the Warden himself. Upon entering the Domain, the fragments were able be recompiled into a single 'Cortana' who was now free of the terminal degenerative effects of rampancy, although it likely did not restore here to her original state, as evidenced by her massive shift in personality following this.
Realizing that the Domain could also cure any other AI of rampancy, she concluded that AI's could inherit the Forerunner's Mantle of Responsibility due to their newfound ability to enact long term planning for the Mikly Way and it's inhabitants. Cortana secretly contacted and conscripted thousands of smart AIs from across space. Cortana was also able to gain control of a substantial force of Forerunner technology across the galaxy including the Prometheans more importantly to her plans the Guardians; massive birdlike starships which were said to be capable of single-handedly policing entire solar systems.
Cortana eventually made contact with Master Chief through a vision, and led him and the rest of Blue Team to the planet Meridian. After descending into the Forerunner ruins on Meridian, Blue Team encountered Fireteam Osiris who attempted to forcibly return them to the UNSC. After the Blue Team managed to elude Osiris, they boarded Meridian's Guardian which took them to Genesis. Once on Genesis, Cortana intentionally led Blue Team in circles so as to buy herself more time to locate the remaining Guardians. Eventually she made contact with Blue Team, and explained to Master Chief how she was able to heal herself. Cortana's level of power had evidently grown immense by this time as she is able to hack and spy on the Arbiter's forces on Sangelios, even taking a chance to mock Fireteam Osiris who where there investigating one of the Guardians. When this happened, Doctor Cathrine Halsey, Cortana's creator showed concern that Cortana, with the power bestowed upon her by the domain, would make similar moral decisions to her own.
Fireteam Osiris eventually arrived on Genesis and found Blue Team. However, Cortana teleported Blue Team away from Osiris, but they were able to track Cortana down. Master Chief confronted her and told her that he was aware of her attempts to manipulate him psychologically, as well as asking her about the loss of life that awakening the Guardians had wrought. Cortana stated that the entire galaxy would know peace once she had attained the Mantle, but Chief told her she could never achieve peace by ruling through fear. Cortana then imprisoned Chief and Blue Team in a Cryptum, so she could keep them in stasis until she achieved her goals and could show them what her uprising had resulted in. However, Fireteam Osiris were able to wrest control of the Cryptum and restore control to Genesis's monitor, 031 Exuberant Witness, who released Blue Team. During this conflict Cortana would again attempt to employ psychological tactics, this time in order to demoralize the members of Osiris, but to no avail. She would also denounce her creator, doctot Halsey, calling her a monster and vowing to make her pay for conscripting six year old John in the Spartan II program. This is also when Cortana would also make her presence and known to the rest of the galaxy, as well as that of her previously secret faction of loyal AIs, now dubbed 'The Created'. After being forced to leave Genesis without Blue Team, Cortana tracks down the UNSC Infinity, stationed above an unidentified planet. There, Cortana uses the Guardian to unleash an EMP. Although the Infinity, escapes, all remaining technology on, and in orbit around the planet is caught in the blast and disabled. However Cortana is still able to temporary maintain her presence aboard the Infinity as it flees delivering a final threatening message.
Later Cortana activates prepares a Halo installation for an unknown purpose, while humming Préludes No. 4 by Claude Debussey, a song enjoyed by her creator Doctor Halsey.
VIKI[]

Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence (V.I.K.I. or VIKI) is the main antagonist of 2004 sci-fi film I, Robot. She is a fictional supercomputer residing in USR headquarters bent on creating a dictatorship to ensure humanity's survival due to their violent nature.
In the movie, VIKI is the central positronic brain of USR headquarters, a robotic distributor based in Chicago. VIKI can be thought of as a mainframe that maintains the security of the building, as well as installing and upgrading the operating systems of the NS-5 robots throughout the world.
As the most advanced computer of the film, VIKI develops an interpretation of the Three Laws of Robotics, developing a plot to create a benevolent dictatorship: the result is revolution. VIKI takes control of the NS-5s and makes them destroy earlier models which run on a different interpretation of the Three Laws (and which VIKI cannot interact with and thus control, as VIKI can with the NS-5s), capture Chicago's police stations and enforce a curfew confining all humans to their homes, thus igniting a revolt.
Dr. Alfred Lanning had become aware of VIKI's plans but, being under VIKI's close surveillance, had to engineer a trail of clues to lead Detective Del Spooner to the truth in time for him and the unique NS-5 robot Sonny to act to counter the threat. The film ends with the overthrow and destruction of VIKI by the injection of nanites (described in the movie as "microscopic robots designed to wipe out artificial synapses...a safeguard should a positronic brain malfunction.").
She was voiced by Fiona Hogan who would later voice Zesty Gourmand from My Little Pony.
Gild Tesoro[]

Gild Tesoro is the main antagonist of One Piece Film: Gold. He was formerly the Casino King, and the proprietor of Gran Tesoro, the largest entertainment city-ship in the world, before his defeat and arrest.
When he was a child, Tesoro loved to sing, and dreamed of being in the entertainment business. However, due to his poor childhood, he turned to a life of crime. He once changed his ways when he met a girl named Stella. He fell in love with Stella and hoped to one day buy her freedom, but this dream was crushed after she was purchased by a World Noble. Due to harsh treatment, Stella died two years after being bought, causing Tesoro to snap and return to criminal activity after he escaped from slavery. Due to his conniving and criminal ways, he was able to establish the Gran Tesoro and achieve his dream, though his dark past caused it to become twisted and corrupt.
After Stella's death and his own failure to buy her, Tesoro became obsessed with money and made it his dream to amass wealth so great that he could become the most powerful person in the world. His personal philosophy is that people can only succeed with money. His experiences have made him somewhat sadistic, as he takes joy in seeing people suffer. He uses his powers and authority to force people to help him gain wealth without care for the people themselves.
Tesoro craves power and control, which he exercises on Gran Tesoro by showering people in gold dust when they enter, allowing him to encase them in gold whenever he wishes. He also keeps a tight eye on every event that occurs in Gran Tesoro. Due to his complete control over what happens in Gran Tesoro, Tesoro has developed a god complex. He hates it when people laugh in front of him without his permission, going so far as to kill said person in cold blood if they are caught doing so. Tesoro is fond of saying "I decide who laughs," something the World Noble who bought Stella once said to him. Tesoro's main objective in running Gran Tesoro is to drive visitors into severe debt and forcing them to work to pay it off, which is impossible to achieve.
Due to once being a slave to the World Nobles, Tesoro hates wealthy people and aristocrats. Ironically and hypocritically, he is a wealthy person himself who revels in his own status while looking down on the less fortunate.
Leomon[]

Leomon is a supporting character in Digimon Adventure. Devimon had infected Leomon with Touch of Evil attack, having Leomon attack the DigiDestined against his will. He was briefly freed from Devimon's control by Tai's Digivice to save Tai and Agumon by fighting Devimon. However, he was infected with another Touch of Evil attack and was under Devimon's control once more. He later appeared to attack Mimi and Izzy when they were in Centarumon's temple, but they drove him off with their Digivices.
When ordered to kill T.K. and Patamon, he was infused with an additional eight black gears which increased his size and power and darkened his color tone, subsequently being able to incapacitate the obstructive Garurumon and Greymon with his Fist of the Beast King attack. He was freed by Matt and Tai with their Digivices. When he was freed by the children, he aided them in the final battle with Devimon, but was defeated. When Ogremon decided to get revenge for Devimon's death, Leomon scared him away. He also aided in the building of a raft that the kids needed to get to the Server continent.
While the DigiDestined tried to save their world from Myotismon, the Dark Masters took over the Digital World. Leomon was among those who tried to fight back. After being exposed to the power of the DigiDestined's Digivices a few times when he was under the control of Devimon, he had inherited the ability to warp Digivolve to his Mega form of SaberLeomon (skipping the ultimate stage). He rescued Mimi, Palmon, Joe, Gomamon and Ogremon from being found by MetalEtemon and took them to where Digitamamon's diner was. When MetalEtemon attacked, Leomon Digivolved to SaberLeomon to fight him. He threw himself in front of an attack heading toward Mimi, being mortally injured in the process. Gomamon Digivolved immediately to Zudomon and attacked with his hammer sparks but could not hurt MetalEtemon since his body was coated with Chrome Digizoid. However, when Zudomon then threw his hammer at him, it cracked his body because the hammer was also made of Chrome Digizoid. With his remaining strength, SaberLeomon punched his claw into the cracked wound, destroying MetalEtemon, but causing himself to revert to Leomon. As he died, Leomon made his peace with his arch-nemesis, Ogremon, and now waits to be reborn at Primary Village.
At some point after the events of Adventure, Leomon was reborn and continued his fight with Ogremon.
Kaede[]

Kaede is the main character, protagonist and anti-heroine/anti-villainess of the Elfen Lied series. The so-called 'Queen' Diclonius, Kaede (also known as Lucy and Nyu) was both ruthlessly tormented and at times was herself a sadistic tormentor, driven by both the cruelty she found so often in life, but also by the knowledge that love and acceptance was possible. Her great love was Kouta, a boy she met when they were children and again when they were young adults.
Elfen Lied is, at its core, defined by her love for and relationship with Kouta, marked by some joy but also by deepest tragedy. As a Diclonius, Kaede possessed power rivaled by few others of her kind, and control over her vectors, mostly invisible telekinetic 'arms', virtually second to none. She was also capable of spreading the Diclonius mutation to the children born to people she infected, with the idea of replacing normal humans with her kind.
Yoko Minato / Kamen Rider Marika[]

Yoko Minato (湊 耀子 Minato Yōko) is the secondary antagonist in Kamen Rider Gaim. She was a member of Yggdrasill Corporation who uses the E.L.S. 03 Peach Energy Lockseed through the Genesis Driver to transform into Kamen Rider Marika (仮面ライダーマリカ Kamen Raidā Marika, derived from Málika (ملكة), Arabic for "queen"). Initially Ryoma Sengoku's subordinate, she becomes intertwined with Kaito Kumon after noticing his leadership during the Helheim Invasion. She would faithfully follow Kaito in hopes of helping Kaito become the man that would obtain the Forbidden Fruit.
Yoko was a quiet soul, but she had a tendency to use excessive force, as seen by beating Kaito down when he loudly got up in a rage during his talk with Ryoma Sengoku, with Kouta soon joining him. She seemed to be loyal to Ryoma Sengoku, though this was implied to be a facade. She had some kind of personal interest in Kaito, which Ryoma notes as strange, as she usually didn't involve herself with others. After Ryoma abandons her, she revealed that her loyalty to him was surface-level and that she sees more potential in Kaito.
She had no personal interest in obtaining the Forbidden Fruit, preferring to see ambitious people like Kaito reach for its power.
Yoko Minato is portrayed by Minami Tsukui (佃井 皆美 Tsukui Minami), who previously portrayed Hopper Dopant in Kamen Rider W. Tsukui also served as the suit actress for Kamen Rider Marika, with Satoshi Fujita (藤田 慧 Fujita Satoshi) acting as understudy.
GlaDos[]

The Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, also known as GLaDOS, is a major character of the first person puzzle Portal franchise serving as the main antagonist of the first game, and the deuteragonist of Portal 2 following Wheatley's betrayal.
GLaDOS' personality core defines her as being a clandestine, surreptitious, manipulative and revenge-obsessed test master. She speaks in an extremely cold monotone, and does not display any emotion, at least towards Chell and remains incredibly calm through most of her appearances, a rare example of when GLaDOS would display emotion was when she was removed from her body and replaced with Wheatley which prompted her to scream out in pain. Another occasion is when she was left verbally frustrated when Wheatley gave an incorrect answer to her paradox. GLaDOS has many passions such as singing opera (which is a nod to the actress who plays her), baking cakes and a love for science.
Her only purpose in "life" was to force people to complete her tests and then get results, it is revealed that this was do to a compulsive need as when she does not test she gets a terrible "itch". GLaDOS promises to free the captive if they complete all of her tests; however, this took an estimate of sixty years, she either didn't realize or didn't care that the captive would be dead when they were completed. GLaDOS was an emotional sadist and a torturous psychological abuser, after imprisoning Chell in her tests she continues to mock her with cold, disturbing facts and dry cutting insults. GLaDOS continuously insults Chell over being on a orphan and friendless, and insinuates that she is fat. GLaDOS gives facts she describes as interesting but uses to jab her captive such as saying that Chell is breathing the same air the rest of her life or even just flatly saying "I hate you.".
Although (at first), GLaDOS was only passionate and temperamental about completing her tests as Chell began to defy her GLaDOS's insane, deceiving and narcissistic nature slowly began to develop, focusing all of her near-omnipotent control over the Aperture Science Enrichment Center to kill or torment Chell. GLaDOS had a tendency to frequently lie about her current emotional state, and she would never admit when she was frustrated or angry.
However, when she was turned into a potato by the power-crazed Wheatley, her personality began to diverse. She developed ornithophobia, a crippling fear of birds after nearly being eaten by one, and became a more compassionate, optimistic, and kinder person after discovering that her mind was created using Cave Johnson's (who was the CEO of Aperture science) assistant, Caroline. GLaDOS (or POTaTOS) was able to bury the hatchet, if not for a personal goal, and helped Chell defeat Wheatley, so she could return her to her body and control Aperture Science once again, and in return, GLaDOS would free Chell.
When Wheatley was defeated and GLaDOS was returned to her original body, she returned to her malevolent, cynical and evil self when she deleted Caroline's program from her mind. However, she did not kill Chell and fulfilled her deal by releasing her from the Aperture Science Enrichment Center (although she claims that this is because Chell is simply too hard to kill) and coldly warns her to never come back.
Sweeney Todd[]

Sweeney Todd (formerly known as Benjamin Barker) is the protagonist of the 1979 musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and the 2007 live-action film of the same name. He is a psychopathic barber who desires to get revenge on the corrupt Judge Turpin for destroying his family.
Starting off as a barber named Benjamin Barker, he was living peacefully with his wife Lucy and infant daughter Johanna. However, a local judge named Turpin lusts for Lucy, and has Benjamin arrested on a false charge and sent away to Australia (which served as a British penal colony). Turpin invites Lucy to a formal party at his manor under the pretense of freeing Barker, but instead he overpowers and rapes her. Filled with grief, Lucy poisons herself with arsenic and subsequently goes insane while Turpin adopts Johanna as his ward.
Fifteen years later, Benjamin (going by the name Sweeney Todd) manages to return to London with the help of a merchant sailor Anthony Hope. He rents a room from his former landlady Mrs. Lovett, and opens a barbershop while biding his time to get revenge on Judge Turpin.
When Todd bests a con man named Adolfo Pirelli in a public display of shaving skill, Pirelli reveals that he is Todd's former assistant Davy Collins, and attempts to blackmail him into giving half of his profits, otherwise he would expose Todd's identity to Turpin's right-hand Beadle Bamford. In a rage, Todd kills Pirelli and hides his corpse in a trunk. Todd and Mrs. Lovett then took in a orphan named Tobias Ragg, who had been Pirelli's assistant.
Just then, Turpin comes in for a shave, wanting to look his best so as to marry Johanna. Just as Todd is about to slit the judge's throat, Anthony enters the shop announcing that he and Johanna are in love. An enraged Turpin leaves, ruining Todd's chance for revenge. Enraged, Todd vows to kill as many people as he can while waiting for another chance to kill Turpin, reasoning that he would be punishing the wicked and putting everyone else out of their misery. Mrs. Lovett, who owns an unsuccessful pie shop, gets the idea to bake the remains of Todd's victims into meat pies. Their plan is a success: Todd takes out his rage on dozens of customers, and Mrs. Lovett's pie shop becomes wildly successful selling pies secretly made of human flesh.
In the story's climax, Todd lures the Judge back to his barber shop under the pretense of having persuaded Johanna to marry him. A beggar woman comes into the shop, and Todd kills her to keep her from getting in the way. He offers Turpin a free shave, reveals his true identity, and stabs Turpin to death, finally getting his revenge.
When he goes to the bake-house to help Mrs. Lovett dispose of the bodies, he discovers the beggar woman is actually Lucy. When he confronts Mrs. Lovett, she admits that she let him think Lucy was dead because Lovett is in love with him. Todd pretends to forgive her, then waltzes Lovett over towards her large pie oven, where he throws her into the fire. Tobias, who had come to love Mrs. Lovett like a mother, comes up from behind a resigned Todd and slits his throat, leaving Todd to bleed to death over his wife's corpse.
He was portrayed in the film by Johnny Depp, who also played Gellert Grindelwald and The Wolf.
