Jafar transformed himself into a giant cobra to kill Gabriel Haywood, but just as Chaos was about to squeeze him to death, Gabriel's tricks Choas into using his powers wish to change Nergal Jr. into an all-powerful genie himself. In this form Nergal Jr. was red in hue, possibly to represent his more "evil" nature, contrasting with Genie's blue tone. Zak was therefore trapped by his own selfish transformation for power. Screaming in rage he was sucked into a black lamp, dragging Chaos with him.
