Mayday is one of the main protagonists of No Straight Roads. She is part of a 2 person rockband called Bunk Bed Junction, whom she has formed with her partner, Zuke. She is the guitarist of the duo. She is an optimistic, passionate and dedicated young girl as well as the being headstrong and always willing to dive headfirst into any situation.
During the beginning of No Straight Roads, she took part in the Lights Up Audition, with which she and Zuke were rejected by members of NSR. From there, she decided to take matters into her own hands and fight against the system to change it. She was also mift that NSR favored EDM over rock as well as other music genres, which is among the reasons why she considered the system to be unfair.
At times, Mayday can easily be starstruck, such as her admiration towards Kul Fira, a former guitarist from a band that broke up years ago, the Goolings. She is also easily sucked up by a few of the megastars of NSR such as Sayu, who she adores and 1010 when she easily fell for them when they successfully wooed her.
Mayday is a huge fan of an old rockband that disbanded years ago known as the Goolings, especially their main guitarist, Kul Fira, a fiery woman who disappeared shortly after the Goolings disbanded. No one knows what happened to her, especially not Mayday. The Goolings were among the reasons that movitated Mayday to start the crusade. However, after she met Kul Fira, she was taken by surprise and everything that she thought she knew changed almost immediately.
Although Mayday is headstrong and stubborn, she is also shown to be kind. She would show some hostility towards others when angered, but she isn't cruel, especially towards her opponents. She demonstrated compassion towards the young programmers who created Sayu, stood by to watch as Yinu and her mother played on their piano and allowed Zuke to reach out to Eve after she fell into her slump, depression and hopelessness. She cared about Vinyl City and wanted to do all she could to help fix the problems that the city and its denizens had been dealing with.
