Maxine "Max" Mayfield is one of the main protagonists of the Stranger Things franchise. She also appears as the main protagonist of the novel, Runaway Max.
She is the girlfriend of Lucas Sinclair.
War of The Streams[]
Max having joined the Streaming Resistance and recovered at the hands of Vecna albeit deaged like her friends. As a result she and the Party went on their own adventures foiling and working to help The Streamverse respectfully. This eventually puts them at odds with Frank Underwood and his cabinet who is out to conquer the Streamverse which will lead to the multiverse. Max works with her friends to stop this for her own freedom, all the while working to deal with Vecna coming back for her again.
Working with her allies and eventually Slade's Empire and The B Team, Max and the others come out safe. With the rest of the Party, Max learns about Vecna's true death at the hand of Team Free Will. She decides to get in touch with the two with the rest of the Stranger Things Party so they can learn of his passing and seeing kindred spirits in the two who did him in as Bean told them.
Streamverse[]
Prologue[]
Joining up with The Robinsons, Max and her friends work to get find a secret way to get the kids safe as possible if N.Tropy and Spot are planning what she suspects. Knowing how to drive, she drives them to a remote location so they can work on this plan without too much detection.
Chapter 1[]
Max is busy playing her video games as Mad Max and she gets phoned that the kids are now with the cops and she goes to meet up with her friends who already know. Similar to Dustin, Max is a bit more eager to meet the two due them having played a part to stop their nemesis Vecna.
Part 2[]
Max arrives with the rest of the resistance and is told about what happened respectfully at the police station. Max decides to go deal with White Dragon and Spot as she skates to find Lydia and the cops and helps keep White Dragon dispoed with a needle of andrealine.
This caused White Dragon to run and Max then runs back to the crew and meets Lincoln who she thanks for vanishing Vecna with Lydia. Max is then told by the brains of the group of the first place Spot attacked in the Streamverse being the Hissuan Region. Having gotten contact with the Magic School Bus she has the kids all get in the car she hotrods so they can reach the magic School Bus so they can start their first Spot related attack. Afterwards, Max plays Videogames with Lydia and Lincoln afterwards after offering them something to do.
Part 3[]
The Magic School Bus arrives in the Hissuan Region with Peacemaker, Vigilante, Emila, Blinky, Amy and Jake all seeing this region as Jake and Amy are driving the Bus respectively.
Emila wakes up The Party, Wednesday, George, Harold, Erica, Boss Baby respectfully and tells them they have arrived and breakfast has been made for them since Amy and Jake were at work
All the others have a meeting and upon recongizing the vast region they decide to split up respectively. To do the job, Blinky, Eleven, Wendesday, Lincoln and Lydia decide to take charge on one side while Peacemaker, Will and the others decide to lead the others.
Wednesday and the Stranger Things cast begin looking into the region, and learn of the upsets of the timeline here as well. This was picked up by Dustin and Wednesday who looked very much into the history as advised. Mike, Max, Will and Lucas do some filed work and learn of the legendaries Dialga and Palkia respectively. Wednesday detects some anti matter in the air as does Mike feeling something is up . After Nate captures a few pokemon, he ran out of Pokeballs, so he tries to but more like he learned from them. However he learns that it's not the way it goes in Hissuan, Thankfully Dustin and Blinky decide to show him how to craft pokeballs, with Lucas and Max deciding to join them in this pursuit after Lydia hands them instructions
The team decide to get to work on research tasks, afterwards and discover thanks to Wednesdsay's visions that the anti matter is coming from some pokemon as is Mike who felt earlier. Lydia and Lincoln know exactly what it is and it's Giratina but they can't detect his presence as Will and Eleven can't despite. Nate questions how they can even do and Eleven like Will had some conncetion to the Upside Down and beings like it due to experimentation and Will being trapped in the Upside Down. Mike doesn't want to bring it due to the senstivity. Blinky, Dustin, Lucas, Cuphead, Mugman, Miss.Chalice and Max learn about the Diamond Clan and decide to give them a hand respectfully after they finish the research tasks. They then talk the others in coming along for the ride.
The group keep Peacemaker in the know about the Noble Pokemon and after them deal with it while they investigate with the others. However, they run into the Noble Lilggilant, the second of the noble pokemon and Nate decides to deal with this himself with The Party and Wednesday helping.
With Lincoln, Lydia and the others they head to Lake Valor, and Lydia with Eleven takes charge hoping they are going to see Azelf yet again. However all they see is a Overqwil who Lydia decides to take on with intent to capture it with Eleven providing the pokeballs for her to use with Mike and the others.
Eleven, The Party and Wednesday decide to look on Firespit Island for a second plate, and remembering what Peacemaker said that look where they found the Arcanine. They manage to find Heatran. Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Max and Will were also lent some pokemon which they use to capture Heatran, Which Volo also saw happen. They get their hands on the Iron Plate as well
When everyone gets back together, this is when Volo ambushes the heroes and steals the plates with The Spot in tangent where the anti matter riff is once again there and Hissuan Region begins to collapse by using Giratina. Which they all do and try to repair all the holes in the area as some of the heroes go after Spot and Volo with Eleven and Peacemaker's posse going to stop this
Peacemaker and the others try to fend off the holes and fend off Spot who makes this diffcult for them as he creates more portals for them to close
Eleven and her firends manage to fix all the holes while Peacemaker and the others manage to keep Spot under control and when Lincoln and the otehrs come back. Spot cuts his losses and brings back Volo and harms Peacemaker before returning.
Nate decides to return his pokemon to the base as Lydia and Lincoln made a pc box for him. Jake and Amy lead the others back to a new base for travel respectfully so they can all take a rest after their mission and just goof off till the next anomality emerges
Eleven and Wednesday and the others talk their mission and Wednesday concedes the two are trust worthy and really are who Blinky states they are. Through Will, Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Geroge, Harold, Erica, Wednesday all discover that the Spider Frog is around and is part of the Upside Down as they were informed by Hobie and that he is coming along with his protege to help them respectively
Chapter 2[]
Max is doing skateboard tricks when Hobie and Luna arrive back to base and inform them their paths crossing with Hilda as well as her connections to Lincoln and Lydia. Max happens to be fond of them of them as she tried to get them to skateboard, but has came to accept them being fine with biking.
She is brought with the others to Wednesday's meeting about Nevermore their situation and what they need to do respectively in their time there.
Max and the others arrive at Nevermore and learn that Wednesday behind many of the others back sent info to Enid and they managed to figure out certain things that have occured during Spot's cosmic flaw stint. It is suspected that Crackstone could come back by Enid and Wednesday's investigations as well as Thronhill and Tyler resufracing. Max like her friends is put in charge of Weathervane which she goes with Emila and Vilgante with Econmos observing. Max hotrods a vechile and takes the others there despite Emila and Economos's qualms with this.
Part 2[]
Eleven, Mike, Will Byers, Dustin, Max, Lucas, Emila Harcount, Vigilante and John Ecnomos all head to the cafe to wait for something to go down noting something will happen Something indeed does happen when Crackstone and Spot arrive respectfully and Eleven strands herself out fighting The Spot as Mike and the others try to capture Crackstone
Having dressed like the Ghost Busters before, they decide to try and use Porton Packs to capture Crackstone though he is resistent enough to ulmately escape as Dustin, Mike, Will and Lucas try to weaken him with Max setting up the traps respectively., Hearing the Spot Escape, Eleven and the others rebound with Mike and the others and learn Crackstone has escaped and must puruse him.
Everyone meets back up back together and are in the woods and this is where everyone comes. Max helps her friends save the Addams from Joesph's wrath and hitails their car with Lucas and John Ecnomnos so they can insure their full safety
Max and her friends are picked up and briefed by the Cops about what they have done respectively on their own ends dealing with Chickens and Wardens. Which she finds wierd, though like Vilgilante puts it together that Spot is acting discrete After getting some time off, Max decides to join the others to 80s movies, ice cream and others stuff while she tries to teach Lydia, Penny and Erica how to Skateboard respectfully though it's not easy even when Lydia admits she's seen Ronnie Anne and Sid skateboard, she pefers roller skates and motorized cycling.
Part 3[]
Max is called up to get back afterwards and is informed about what is going next at the hands of Spot and his hands as the heroes checked the anomality detector that was made by Professor Membrane
Arriving in the Captain Underpants Universe, se goes with Eleven and the others to handle the booger monsters respectively while everyone else does their own things. The Stranger things Cast all managed to get rid of them through using oranges respectively as well as Eleven's psychic powers to immoblize them.
After defeating the boogermen, Max and her friends return to base to learn what really went on respectively. She tries the devices herself and notes how they work respectively before learning of the damage Hawkins might sustain if left unchecked. With Blinky's group returning, Max and the others brief them on what they learned and take charge of the Hawkins situation as Steve told them about in regards to the Demogorgons.
Chapter 3[]
Max and the others discuss Hawkins and the chos it has fallen into respectfully in part to The Spot using his holes to let creatures from the Upside Down. Upon hearing what has happened from Enid and Steve, she and her friends decide to get the others to help when They manage to arrive in Hawkins. Respectfully
Max joins the party, Lincoln, Lydia and Erica to go to the lab to do some investigations respectively with Dr.Owens. Things get mixed when Chandler shows up with Demogrgons and flayed victims which he had decided to tame with Baby Ruths like he observed with Dustin to go after them. Max and her friends deal with this and she helps save her friends from Chandler with a skateboard to the back knocking him over and tranquiled him intend to hit him with a nailed baseball bat.
She and the rest of the team head to the abandoned school and find themselves remaking the Snow Ball where Mike dances with Eleven, like Lucas does with Max. Max eggs on both Lydia and Lincoln to do so as well which they eventually give in to respectively.
Part 2[]
Max keeps what Lincoln and the others have done from Holt respectfully wanting to keep their plans secret. Despite what she attempts, he finds out anyway. Max and her friends go to the Castlevania verse to help a potential new recruit respectfully deal with N.Tropy's associates and Neil and Kandy
Max is able to help Trevor deal with his enemies, though she sees Mike and notes the corpse of Will as well as runs to get Lucas and Dustin about this. Being given time off, Max hotrods a car to drive the others back to Hawkins to grieve despite Max's lack of interaction with him compared to others.
Chapter 5[]
Jim drives Max, Lucas and Steve into Flying Rhino Junior High upon getting the news that is where ground zero is going to be and arrive around the entry and wait for the rest of the team to get there.
Max and the others do arrive and she has her friends join her in the car and Max considers crashing the car into the school. Though she does do this to keep any more of N.Tropy's robot henchman from doing any more harm before joining the others respectfully heading into the boiler room
Chapter 6[]
As the False Groudon emerges to chase down the rest of the team as they split their mission. Max steals and hotwires a car with Jesse's help and they drive to try and distract The monster so the others can achieve their goal
She and her friends do eventually get sucked by the monster's geletanious tentacles as Dustin and Eleven both get away to try and save the rest of the team
In part to their success, Max is brought back and as they leave. Max decides to accompany Frida, Clyde, Lincoln and Lydia at Sadie Hawkins when the time comes as they learn from Eleven, Lydia did ask Lincoln.
Epilogue[]
Max gets ready for Sadie Hawkins and waits for Lucas who shows up ready to see her to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. Max and Lucas are picked up by Claire, Jim and Blinky who decided to chaperone the two as well as each other and as they also drive to Royal Woods
The two arrive at Royal Woods and they meet up with their friends and head into the school for their dance. Max and Lucas both observe how the girls are acting towards Lydia and Max gets why Lydia does take some issues with some of the girls she knows as a fellow tomboy like herself. This is why when she sees Lincoln and her basically one up them, she smilies at this
Max and Lucas both dance together and have a good time at Sadie Hawkins as they meet back with Mike and Eleven. They decide on getting them a chaperone next time they do this as they at least had some of this themselves this time.

Chapter 1[]
Part 1[]
Eleven and Max both arrive and come inside as Dustin heads out. Max asks where Dustin is going and Dustin says he's going to camp, he got a personal invite. Eleven asks if it's a little supscious that only he got an invite in Hawkins to her knowledge. Dustin gives a look as does Mike, Eleven admits Max and her spied on people. Lucas rolls his eyes with amusement at this as Dustin heads out.
Max with the rest of the party meets with Peacemaker and Jake for the latter two to discuss what happened with them.
Vigilante and John explain what their talk with Lincoln and Lydia detailed, when trying to get their help. Max to herself isn't happy with Vigilante or John for trying to force her friends off their vacation to help them, as she understands why they're doing so.
Peacemaker, Eleven, Jake, Mike, Lucas, Max, Jim, Blinky, Claire, Membrane are joined by Doug Judy who go with Mrs.Frizzle to the Captain Underpants Universe so they can find the boys and can their help with this situation.
Peacemaker had Emilia, John Economos and Vigilante stay to wait for Wednesday to come back so they aren't open for attack. Professor Membrane and Mrs.Frizzle manage to find the portal needed to go where the universe and direct the others to get there.
The crew all lands in the universe where Jake takes the lead with Peacemaker with a gun as Lucas has a slingshot ready right behind them in case thing goes down, Eleven decides to join up with the three to see if they can detect the boys.
Mike, Blinky Max, Professor Membrane and Mrs.Frizzle wait in the bus for them as the other 4 go looking around trying to find their friends. This is when Jim and Claire decide to join on their own side of things as they cover other ground.
Peacemaker and the rest of the posse all return and they inform the team that Geroge and Harold were all kidnapped by mirror agents. Eleven, Lucas, Jake, Jim and Claire all tell Peacemaker's friends about what they saw in that universe.
Lucas holds some photos of the sanding marks to see if the top scientists could get a mark on who these mirror agents are. Mike and Max ask Lucas on this attention to detail, Lucas explains to them that someone is clearly trying to shut them all up from finding out the truth and they will find out.
Part 2[]
With the gang, all basically in agreement that the group must go looking for Spot's remaining allies, former and not. Wednesday, John Ecnomos, Emila, Viglante and Jake look into who is still alive as the others discuss the idea.
As Things are getting settled. Mike, Lucas and Max meet up with Jim, Claire, Penny and Enid and they decide to try and get any call to Dustin, Will, Rave and The Robot. Mike, Lucas and Max attempt to communicate with Dustin however they are noticing nothing but static on the other side from their walk talkies about useage. Penny after noticing deicdes to try call Robot and Will , but is still not getting anything.
Eleven, Mike, Lucas and Max are dropped off at one of the holding cells and that they make their way to the prison cell where Candice is. Candice is not that suprised to see the kids here and knows that they must want something from her. Max decides to cut to the chase and straight out asks what does she know about the massacre and who was backing The Spot
Candice straight out says she wasn't too active in the ongoing plot, mostly she was against that nut job of a principal Scudsworth who she was supposed to keep an eye on. Eleven can tell a part of her is lying. Mike and Lucas ask how, Eleven explains through her body language though does agree that Candice really didn't too much and asks about the Trolberg nuking.
Candice taken back said she did help there, placing the choronton dentator up there with him but also with an associate of theirs but 2 of them. Mike points out what else other than being 2 of them, Lucas was also under the impression of there only being 1, but there is 2 backers. Candice says that considering she had cloning technology this was not unbelievable. All the while admitting she also did sabotage a reality warping computer as well. Eleven explains to her friends the one from Flying Rhino where Lydia used to go too. Candice hearing the name takes some delight in the fact that is who it's about and how helping her isn't going to much for her. Max decides to end here and there and leaves her.
Peacemaker, Eleven, Wednesday, Jake, Professor Membrane, Jim, Claire, Blinky, Penny, Vigilante, Emila Hardcourt, John Ecnomos, Mrs.Frizzle, Mike, Lucas, Max, Doug Judy and Enid Sinclair all return and explain what everyone has found out. As Peacemaker's posse tells the others that most of the others were co-operative, though Chandler and Richfield were rather uncompromisnig with Richfield trying to kill the Professor.
Part 3[]
The Streaming Resisitance has arrived in Trolberg,and they go around trying to find her with each of them giving a try of finding her.
Eleven and her party go looking at Van Gale's Weather station first thinking she would be there, though they do find traces of her having once been there, they don't find her though Mike finds notes about something Van Gale had worked on pirorly and shows them to Lucas, Eleven and Max and Lucas identifies how much like Spot this kind of plan was, though it's worth noting this is many years ago. Max and Eleven both take note of the weather machine Van Gale had and they simply destroy it so no one else can use it
The Streaming Reisstance has managed to arrive at the fairy Mound and a good deal of the group wander how to ulimately get in there. Peacemaker, Eleven and Wednesday themselves are baffled how are they even able to have gotten in there to begin with to find the others.
Jake, Eleven, Wednesday, Peacemaker and Professor Membrane all having aquired a sample of hair from Van Gale use to find her location. Max is baffled how they got a hair of hers for that long, Jake explains it's a way to get a sense of someone's dna and Membrane adds it can be used for cloning or any other great science work. Everyone give Membrane a look which he looks a bit embrassed to have said.
The Streaming Resistance manages to escape Fairy Country, though Van Gale is hurt from Rodrigo's ambush and they watch the Fairy Country be drained away from the energy it once had.
Chapter 2[]
Part 4[]
Max joins Blinky in attempting to find some possible answers in what has been going on in The Hilda Universe as her allies take part in dealing with Levy. She unlike most of her friends show skepicness at this whole idea. Though this is pretty selective due to everything with the Upside Down that has occured. Blinky is able to discover that there was some kind of portal leak here with chaos bots but that it also came from another universe leaked from the Streamverse. Max does figure that there could be a connection to HIlda and Blinky's universes on her own accord, that or Wednesday's hence why this is all happened.
This sentiment is eventually shared by Professor Membrane who takes charge as Peacemaker, Eleven, Jake, Wednesday, Enid and Penny decide to help Lincoln and Lydia investigate the woods which Max does believe what they say as it aligns more with her experiences with the Party In Hawkins.
Part 5[]
Upon arrivng in Arcadia, The Troll Hunters and The Party try to find Toby and ARRGH only to discover that they are no longer in Arcadia. Professor Membrane and the Peacemaker Crew investigate all the events in Arcadia and they learn changlings are around there as some point and the 4 feel that maybe there is a way to reach some indications of what Enid is looking for
Jim and Claire consider this too and with Lucas, Max and Mike they do undercover that the last people who saw Toby and ARUGH can confirm that they left in a van with a kid and some other passengers for parts unknown. The 5 though may be not aware of everything to begin with.
When Emilia and Vigilante decide to pick up some Trollhunters weaponry. Max decides to help Peacemaker's crew with the weapons as she wants one for herself so they can prepare for any possible trouble which they are split on. Max though decides to help anyway with this as she picks up a war hammer that was Toby's.
As the others get back from aiding Lydia and Lincoln, Enid, Wendesday, Jake and Eleven are also brought to light by Max, Blinky, Jim, Claire, Mike and Lucas about what they had found in their brief investigation of Arcadia.
Part 6[]
Max, Enid, Vigilante and Emilia have arrived in Troll market, With Enid developing a sense of trouble towards Jaune Arc being here with the other 3 following suit. Max has her war hammer ready as does Vigilante with his blade as they observe the Gumms
Max, Emilia and Vigilante learn about what Enid found with Usurna and prepare for a deal of trouble.
Max, Enid, Vigilante and Emilia are in the cross hairs of Queen Usurna who had managed to track the 4 down and has her Gumms fight the 4 as she tries to take one of them away which she uses her war hammer to take take them down.
Max and Enid almost get their minds wiped by Usurna who has Cate as Emilia and Vigilante are dealt with and are brought Mulder and Scully as well. Though Scully is able to break loose last second and the others take their fight to her and the others. Max manages to use it get Ushura off them before Peacemaker and the others arrive back to the 4 of them observe Enid talking to Mulder and Scully which is all about what happened to Hilda and her parents.
Max gets the help of Viiglante and Emilia when it comes to fighting with the war hammer which is a exact double of what was Toby's. Max and the two manage to discover what Amy, Daniel, Lincoln and Lydia are up to. She fanboys over Daniel due to her celeb crush which Lydia just rolls her eyes at not really understanding celeb crushes. Max and the two learn about what happened with Ratcliff, where they have to tell them about their look into what happened with Hilda and the family in Arcadia. Max tells them also about Mulder and Scully's involvement.
Chapter 3[]
Part 7[]
The Entire Group has arrived at the Membrane Household and Professor Membrane has informed the others about His son not being here so he and his own friends won't have to worry as they're at the Utonium House.
Eleven senses something with her senses and goes to follow to see what she sees, Mike asks if she is okay. Eleven says that Mike needs to stay safe in here as she senses danger and not danger he can deal with without it weighting on her. Peacemaker, Jake, Vilgilante, Claire, Jim and Max all decide to follow up with this.
Peacemaker, Jake, Vigilante all get loaded with their fire arms, Max holds out the war hammer with Claire and Jim getting their troll hunter gear on. Jim and Claire both feel that it is completely possible that they know precisely who it is. They thought the guy was dead this is when Eleven, Peacemaker and Jake finally decide to ask who are referring to. Jim says that it's one of the foes he has feared the most, a fellow troll who was a feared assassin. Peacemaker, Jake and Eleven decide to prepare to fight to deal with this to protect their friends and themselves
As Peacemaker, Jake, Eleven, Vigilante, Max, Jim and Claire all follow what Eleven suspects this is when Zib and Angor Rot both make their strike against them and that Queen Usurna has the Gumms Gumms accopany the two on her own orders to deal with the Streaming Resistance. Zib does this so he can get his hands on his father before he makes a plan to settle with his main enemies.
Zib and Angor Rot go straight on the offense which leads to the heroes deciding to fight back against them.
The Fight continuing to go way between them all and Zib and Angor Rot are just about ready to petrify and capture Jim and Claire. Until Professor Membrane and Wednesday manage to arrive and help turn the table and realize Zib is controlling Rot and Membrane can tell as he can see how Zib is controlling the Gumms Gumms and the others all get back to base at Membrane's house, Max does have the ability to fight a few of the Gumms Gumms though she does take a good deal of blows at their hands.
Lucas tends to Max who did take some blows at the hands of Angor Rot.
Part 8[]
Feeling some of her pride being hurt due to the incident, Max decides to combine some vitals into a cocktail and decides to ingest them with the intent to make her more useful to the Streaming Resistance despite what she has to bring to the table. She falls over unconcisousness as a result, later when MIke, Lucas and Eleven go to check up on her she is shown looking different and Max explains she stole from Professor Membrane's vitals as a way to make her more helpful and stronger for them when Lucas gives his reassurances that everyone has that. Max fesses up to Professor Membrane about this which he is fine with as despite doing such a thing, Max can join them in Professor Membrane's plans just fine as they will be joining Lincoln, Lydia, Will and Amy at Camp Masatadon to discuss what to do regarding Tek Knight and Victoria Neuman.
Part 9[]
She joins Peacemaker in keeping contact with the rest of the team and advises them on their actions when it comes to Arcadia and Trolberg, though lets him make the directions for all of this.
Max joins Peacemaker, Emilia Harcourt, Jake Peralta, John Economos, ,Penny Robinson, Professor Membrane, Vigilante to help her friends. Now being a lady, she decides to take action with her friends meeting both Daniel and Toby who have a war hammer like her and is her fanboy crush as it turns out. She inflitrates the manor and acts as Daniel's date and hides her war hammer in her pocket ready to use when things get sticky.
When Tek Knight and Sister Sage put their plot into play, She takes out the war hammer and decides to fight their forces and to help the others escape. Taking some pleasure in how strong she has become, she helps the rest of the Streaming Resistance escape and manages to have Ruby protect them from Troy's blow up. Max later talks to Lydia, Lincoln, Toby, Will and Amy later and this allows the former to realize some physical matters are skin deep and that she can use that to her advantage
Being warned of the situation that they are in by the rest of the team, Max takes a fearless approach saying that despite all this, she is going to do whatever it takes to bring a stop to who is attempting the end of the world and that she is told that her influence is intoxicating for some of her younger friends by Amy who herself has this.
Chapter 4[]
Max is placed in charge of gathering the antidote for the cure for HIlda and her friends, which she does with Mike and Lucas. When her allies go missing, Max helps the team decide to go on a resuce mission
Chapter 5[]
Max helps destroy the base the Streaming Resistance found through the Brotherhood and frees Jim, Claire and Blinky as well. She doesn't destory the device though as she does note that Some others are gathering to get it and is told by Professor Membrane not to do anything as Membrane knows Slade's Empire. Max arrives to help deal with Judge Holden with the rest of the team and finds Team Free WIll in time for Ucumu to rise
Chapter 6[]
Toby hands her a different war hammer he found from when he learned of Aja and Krel being aliens to Max. This is when she uses it to her advantage using her strength and is able to help the heroes defeat the demon with Team Free WIll's back up on this.
