Master Hand is one of the chief dark powers in the Nintendo universe, twin to Crazy Hand and host to the Master Swarm.

The Master Swarm[]
The Master Swarm is the group of tiny black particles that make up the Master Hand's being. When Master Hand himself is killed, the swarm breaks free and can assume numerous forms. When beaten down to its weakest form, the Master Core, it must be destroyed immediately or a fatal pulse will be released and Master Hand will be resurrected.

After Grapefruit tells Izaya that The Nazis caught Midget Apple and Marshmallow first, he sends Master Hand and Crazy Hand after him and they tried to eat him, but Izaya figures he could still be useful, so he has them spit him out.
