Zedd2

SPOILERS

"I am Lord Zedd, Emperor of all I see. You have failed to complete the mission assigned to you. I will now resume command. Prepare the palace for my return!"

Lord Zedd s a major villain from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series and recurring through Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers in Space. He later returns in Power Rangers Dino Fury and Power Rangers Cosmic Fury.

He was played by Edwin Neal, with the late Robert Axelrod supplying the voice. He would later be voiced by Andrew Laing in Dino Fury and by Fred Tatasciore in Cosmic Fury.

Lord Zedd is a proclaimed "Emperor of Evil", being the superior of Goldar and Rita Repulsa.  It is also presumed that Lord Zedd got his disturbing appearence after a failed attempt to steal the Zeo Crystal, as it was protected by a forcefield that damages anything evil, presumibly burning out his skin.

He was later purified by Zordon's energy wave released by Andros. However in the Super Legends video game, after a disturbance in the timeline, Lord Zedd was once again corrupted. Lord Zedd also appears in the 3DS adaption of Power Rangers Super Megaforce. He makes a return in Power Rangers Dino Fury after being resurrected by the sorcerer Reaghoul, placed under the necromancer's control with a compliance collar. After being freed from the collar, Lord Zedd was forced to flee as he could be overpowered without his staff, and swore to return to crush the Dino Fury Rangers and burn the Earth to a cinder.

Sometime later, Zedd returns to Earth and stages a jailbreak at Grid Battleforce, forcing now General Shaw to contact the Dino Fury Rangers to warn them that one of the escapees, Lothorn, Lokar's nephew, was making his way to Pine Ridge. The jailbreak served as a distraction for both the Dino Fury and Grid Battleforce Ranger teams, in order for Zedd to bust Scrozzle out of imprisonment. With Scrozzle freed, Zedd regained his staff after the former retrieved it from the Crystal Dimension, and along with Sizzurai, proceeded to Area 62 to form a temporary alliance with Void Queen and Void King, the later being Tarrick, the former Void Knight who has been corrupted by Sporix energy. With new robotic generals created by Scrozzle from Void King's blueprints of Boomtower and Snageye, Lord Zedd proceeded to Zayto and Aiyon's homeworld, Rafkon, to retrieve the Sporix Generator, which was built into Rafkon's core and would destabilize the entire planet if the machine was damaged or moved. Zedd and Scrozzle managed to get the generator working and teleported it off Rafkon, resulting in the planet exploding. They set the generator up on Earth, planning to create more Sporix for Zedd to create a new, unstoppable army. The Dino Fury Rangers proved unsuccessful in breaking through Zedd's force field, but intervention from Master Green of the Morphin Masters allowed Aiyon to strike Zedd while he was occupied. Thus, Master Green used her powers to destroy the Sporix Generator, and encased herself and Zedd in a crystalized prison. After realizing Master Green's actions prevented a devastating event, among others, Masters Red and Blue freed their fellow Morphin Master and kept Lord Zedd trapped, relocating him to a planet far away.

Six months after the Sporix were defeated and secured, Lord Zedd somehow managed to escape, leading the Morphin Masters to resurrect Zayto and give him new Ranger powers.
