Kadabra is a Psychic type Pokemon from the Kanto region. It is the evolved form of Abra. When it evolves, it develops much stronger psychic abilities. It can evolve into Alakazam but only if it is traded.
This can be done to 3 other Pokemon: Haunter, Graveler and Machoke.
Its name came from the second half of the phrase "abracadabra", with its predecessor being named the first half of the phrase. However, its name starts with a K rather than C because it's catchier.
Its japanese name, ユンゲラー Yungerer, is possibly named after Uri Geller, an illusionist famed for his spoon-bending technique. Unfortunately, this led to him suing Nintend for using his likeness for the character.
Kadabra holds a silver spoon in its hand. The spoon is used to amplify the alpha waves in its brain. Without the spoon, the Pokémon is said to be limited to half the usual amount of its telekinetic powers.
Kadabra emits a peculiar alpha wave if it develops a headache. Only those people with a particularly strong psyche can hope to become a Trainer of this Pokémon.
Ultimate Story[]
Ness owns a Kadabra. It goes well with his Psychokinetic powers. He used it during his battles as the final Gym Leader Representative.
