KD6-3.7, nicknamed K and later known as Joe, was a Nexus-9 replicant Blade Runner tasked by the Los Angeles Police Department with retiring outdated Nexus-8 replicants, which were rushed into production in 2020 by the Tyrell Corporation upon the death of its founder, Dr. Eldon Tyrell, in 2019. A number of the remaining Nexus-8 models had formed a replicant freedom movement, which the LAPD sought to terminate as well.
On June 30, 2049, following his retirement of fugitive replicant Sapper Morton, K's superior in the LAPD, Lieutenant Joshi, tasked him with terminating the child of a female replicant whose remains were unearthed from beneath Sapper's tree.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Being a replicant from the new batch, he is trained to show little to no emotion as a Blade Runner in order to complete tasks that are at times questionable and any opposition would result in his death. As a result, K presents himself as stoic and rather serious and rarely ever smiles, he is also thorough in completing his tasks as a Blade Runner due to his lack of or rather suppressed emotions.
In actuality, he secretly does have feelings and emotions, he has an A.I. girlfriend named Joi of whom he loves deeply as she fills in the void of his loneliness and he is also saddened when Joi’s hard drive was destroyed by Luv, killing her. Deep down, he is actually heroic and selfless as he develops a bond with former Blade Runner Rick Deckard and found satisfaction in rescuing him and reuniting him with his replicant daughter at the cost of his own life.
