Jolly Roger is the mayor of Jolly Roger's Lagoon. He also works as a bartender of that town. When Banjo and Kazooie first encountered him wihin his town, he was upset over his partner, Mary Maggie, having been gobbled up by a large fish. After the duo was able to retrieve him, he happily rewarded the 2 with a Jiggy.
Ultimate Story[]
Jolly Roger has made his first appearancei in the story during Misty's first journey within the Isle O' Hags. He is revealed to be Slippy's best friend as well as a Cornerian who left Corneria to find Earth. He has lived on the island ever since. He is really good friends with Misty as well. Slippy had always mentioned having a friend on Earth a few times, to which that friend was revealed to be Jolly.
There have been a number of rumors from Banjo-Kazooie fans that Jolly Roger is gay. Fanfictiondreamer decided to make him as such as a means of introducing homosexuality to the story. (Call it insulting as much as you like, she doesn't find anything shameful about this) Mostly everyone doesn't seem to mind this, although Slippy had always been oblivious to it.
Jolly has taken a liking to Fox since they were kids. He never became handsy with him and had always been friendly. During Ultimate Story 2, Jolly is seen flirting with Fox quite often. Fox had always felt uncomfortable by these advances but tries to be nice to him as he is Slippy's friend as well as a genuinely nice guy. He does respect him and his attraction towards guys. Jolly can also be seen coming on to other attractive men like Link, and although Link had been uncomfortable towards these advances, he also tries to be respectful towards him and his attractions towards men.
He is, however, not the only gay character in the story as there are a few others, EXCLUDING ALL OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS!!!!
