Jeff "Joker" Moreau is the pilot of the Normandy. He was with Shepard from the very beginning. Joker suffers from a physical condition known as Vrolik Syndrome, or Brittle Bone Disease, in which the bones in his legs are very weak and he would need help standing or walking. This, however, did very little to cripple his spirit or his confidence in his tremendous flying skills. Also, he is a tremendous asset to the crew of the Normandy, but he doesn't seem to like getting roped in to save the galaxy. The strength of his legs were improved by Cerberus after he joined.
The Fayelon Story[]
Joker was seen with EDI when they first spotted the Fayelons. After the fight that the girls had with the entity that they've been running from, he and EDI helped them out and he and the rest of the crew brought them back to the Normandy.

At one point, EDI mentioned a little of what the girls discussed with each other in private, but could not reveal much of what they talked about as she promised that she wouldn't tell anyone. She did tell him that from their conversation, she offered to help them find the very thing that was very much related to their conversaion, with which he agreed to keep quiet about.
Thanks to his and EDI's resiliant effort, they were able to locate the source of the mysterious reading, which is the girls' friend Mayweather.
