Jewel (Fayelon)

Jewel is an OC created by Fanfictiondreamer for her special story, the Fayelons Story. She is from a race of magic wielding aliens known as Fayelons. They are from a far-off galaxy (realm as it is called for them).

Jewel was just a typical young girl who lived an average life until a terrible catastrophe struck her realm. From there, she and her friends fled their realm in order to protect their homes and the people they love. They spent several months drifting the universe until they made a stop within the Milky Way galaxy. There, she and her friends ran into the crew of the Normandy. From there, they decided to stand their ground within that galaxy in order to put an end to the threat that has plagued their realm.

Personality[]

Jewel is a typical, young teenage girl, or that how she appears to be. She is actually a strong-willed, selfless, pure-hearted girl who cherishes her family and friends and loves all of them equally. She has a strong sense of justice and dislikes all forms of wrong-doing. Brought up as a natural leader amongst her friends, she is able to pull them together and do whatever it is she needs them to do.

However, despite her being a natural born leader, she tends to also be conflicted. She is brave, but due to her being young, she can't always handle tough situations. Her need to help others pushes her to commit to difficult decisions but she does tend to struggle emotionally with her decisions and becomes weighed down easily by the pressure. Because of this, she can't really do much by herself, so her friends are compelled to pull together and help her out. From this, her friends are her greatest strength.

She starts out as struggling a lot at the beginning of her journey but as she progressed on, she became a stronger person through her sheer determination to help others, her friends cheering her on and being her strength and powers growing over time.

She also brings herself up as a good friend to many who are part of her life. Her closest friends are the 4 other girls that she had been with for several years and over time, the crew of the Normandy have become her friends as well. Of all of them, her closest and strongest friend is Garrus as he became a stable backbone to her and someone she could open up to.

Jewel also had a difficult past that had caused her to push herself too hard. Very often looked down on by so many in her life, she felt like she had to constantly push herself as a way of making others see her for the strong Gemma Kinetic that she wanted to be seen as. Although her efforts are not seen as good enough for others, she continues to push herself, hoping that it eventually would. It soon took a strong friend like Garrus to eventually convince her that she doesn't need to push herself too hard and she will never be good enough in the eyes of those that she is trying to impress, but she doesn't need to be. From there, she abandoned her need to impress others and decided to just be good enough for those that are close to her. To Garrus, she doesn't need to try harder than she already has.

Jewel (Metamorphose Form) — Jewel's Metamorphose Form

Jewel is from a very special group of magic wielders known as the Gemma Kinetics. They're magical beings that have the special ability to forge jewels from the magical energy within their bodies. On top of that, they can also utilize these jewels to carry out special functions, such as contain memories and experiences as well as play them out so vividly it's almost like what you're seeing from them is happening right in front of you. Other things that they can do is take in essences of different worlds and convert them into data, acting as a sort of data collector. This is a sacred power that only these kinds of magical beings could understand. They hold many different secrets that are kept from everyone else, even if those outside their expertise are close friends.

Jewel has been able to utilize this skill very well at a young age, so she is able to forge jewels without complications. She also created and stored many different kinds of jewels within her body, so that she would be able to rematerialize them whenever she needs them. She can also use her jewels as weapons, being able to fortify them with ease as well as shatter them as a means of damaging her enemies. She can forge other kinds of rocks with her powers but she always prefers using her jewels as her main source of attacks.

She almost has complete control over this power as she has one slight quirk that she has yet to fix: a lot of the jewels stored in her body tend to fall out whenever she sneezes. This doesn't always happen, but if she were to sneeze hard enough, a lot her jewels would fly out of her body. This tends to be embarrassing for her as some during her past would give her a hard time about it. Whenever this would happen, she would frantically clean the floor off of all her jewels without allowing anyone else to help her as some of them aren't vacant, so if someone were to touch them, then they could receive massive headaches from their minds not being able to process all of the "data" stored within them.

Origin Story[]

Jewel comes from a world consisting of Geomancers, meaning everyone from her world have the magical abilities to control rocks, stones and gravel. However, there are some that have special powers of creating and forging jewels. These jewels are capable of special abilities, such as storing memories and other types of data, taking in memories, experiences and even dreams, with all of this being a fraction of their potentials. These special types of magic wielders are known as Gemma Kinetics and it is labeled as the most unique type of magical power to have ever been known. Not all Geomancers can wield this power and in order to be able to have such, they would need the special type of magical energy that could enable them to wield it. Even those with the slightest amount of that magical energy would be able to wield it if they try hard enough. They can choose to allow the power to grow or let it dissipate but if they allow it to dissolve, they will never be able to wield the Gemma Kinetic power even if they try to revive it.

Jewel is amongst those with that type of magical energy, however, when she first discovered it, it was at the lowest anyone could possibly have but she was able to have it grow with training, hard work and dedication. However, those with the smallest essence of that kind of power are looked down as the lowest of the lowest. Some with the power have been born with higher amounts and believe themselves as the most superior of the Gemma Kinetics. This isn't true but those who are think that more so as a sense of pride, believing themselves to be the strongest, but if those who have their power enhanced through hard work and dedication come close to even match their power, they are usually enraged by this as it crushes their egos.

Jewel, after having discovered that she has this power, developed a passion towards fortifying this to where she is the best Gemma Kinetic that she could possibly be. However, many who have a much higher essence of this power looked down on her and not only do they believe that she is the lowest of the low, but also did everything they could to make sure that she never surpasses them. Even her mentors refused to help her and wanted her to remain less than below average. Because of this, Jewel was mainly self-taught with her parents supporting her every step of the way. Her dedication towards enhancing her powers showed dividends as she was able to easily prove that even those with the smallest amount of this magical energy can truly be a strong Gemma Kinetic if they tried. The more she grew as a Gemma Kinetic, the more her peers' hatred towards her and dedication to crushing her efforts intensified.

Eventually, she came face-to-face with a mentor who dedicated herself to crushing Jewel's confidence to where her Gemma Kinetic power would completely dissolve. Jewel, however, refused to give up and continued to grow her power to which her evil mentor upped the ante to which she would conspire with her peers to harming her not only emotionally but physically. Her parents wanted to pull her away from this toxic atmosphere that their daughter was forced to endure. Other mentors refused but then the highest of their authority, the Disciples of Order, intervened and forced them to reconsider. From there, Jewel was pulled out it and continued her training at home. Since she was dedicated to her powers, she grew a lot more quickly and sufficiently than when she was still at her courses. Her powers weren't able to develop as efficiently as it should have been, given her circumstances, and because of that, she's still somewhat behind on her magical prowess. She was, however, able to have them develop in a unique way.

Because of how she was looked down on by the other Gemma Kinetics, she wasn't able to make any friends amongst her own kind. Her only friends growing up were Aera and Splash and the 2 of them were as close as sisters to her. As she got older, she made friends with Flare and eventually, Star. She and her friends were pretty much the misfits of their kind who everyone else preferred to avoid, but were able to get along with those that were kind and friendly.

Fanfictiondreamer came up with the name Jewel because she liked the name and had only heard of the word as a name a few times.
The ideal voice actress, Dionne Quan, worked with the IVA of Star, Tara Strong, a few times.

The name, Gemma Kinetic, was named after a very sweet character in Dragon Quest XI.
Jewel is based off of Tecna from the Winx Club a little as one of Tecna's insignias is a diamond.
Jewel's uncertain and insecure personality is based off of Fanfictiondreamer's own uncertainty.
Jewel is left-handed, such that is added to one of her qualities because FFD is also left-handed. She is one of the 2 OCs that are left-handed with the other being Aera.
