J. Jonah Jameson is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, a New York City newspaper. He has a great resentment towards Spider-Man and is unaware that he employs Spider-Man's alter-ego Peter Parker as a photographer.
Through his newspaper and smear campaigns, Jameson has turned the city against Spider-Man on several occasions.
