Ivysaur is a Pokemon from the Kanto Region. It is an evolved form of Bulbasaur. It is to evolve into a Venusaur. It is a Grass/Poison type Pokemon.
When it evolves from a Bulbasaur, the bulb on its back becomes a bud which opens up when it evolves into a Venusaur.
Its name is a combination of ivy, a very well known kind of plant, and σαῦρος saur, an ancient Greek term for lizard.
Its Japanese name, フシギソウ Fushigisou, can be taken to mean "it seems strange" or 不思議 草 fushigi sou, which means strange grass.
There is a bud on this Pokémon's back. To support its weight, Ivysaur's legs and trunk grow thick and strong. If it starts spending more time lying in the sunlight, it's a sign that the bud will bloom into a large flower soon.

Daisy owns an Ivysaur to go with her love of flowers. It is also wily like her.
