Ignacio "Nacho" Varga is a major character in the crime drama series Better Call Saul, the prequel/sequel to Breaking Bad. and is the 4th most important character behind Saul, Mike and Kim Wexler.
He was a criminal who had formerly been affiliated with both The Cartel and Salamanca Family, starting out as the right-hand man of Tuco Salamanca before going on to work for the latter's uncle Hector Salamanca following Tuco's arrest. Thereafter Nacho played a bigger role in the Cartel to the point of becoming the one in command of the Salamanca turf in Albuquerque. Despite this, however, he grows more unhappy with the Cartel's ruthlessness as both the lives of himself and his father are put in danger - most particularly when he ends up being forced to collaborate with Hector's archenemy, Gustavo Fring, against the Cartel.
He was portrayed by Michael Mando, who also played Vaas Montenegro in Far Cry 3 and Mac Gargan in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Chapter 1[]
Alongside Captain Hero and Tuco Salamanca he brings the map to the Infosphere to Becker to use so he can find the Infosphere. As they they bring the map to him, he flinches uncomfortably as he watches Becker kill someone late on their debt in a gruesome way. He is informed of what Becker intends to do with the Infosphere and what they intend to do
When the heroes show up as well as Bean's group to take The Map, Nacho just observes the other heroes and stays in the background just firing his gun at them from a distance as he observes this happen.
After the heroes get the map, He is instructed to get the vehicles for the others so they can chase the group, knowing the heroes will get the map from his boss. He acts as Tuco's Driver as they pursue them.
Chapter 2[]
Nacho drives Tuco in his vehicle and has to keep him on a leash as Tuco is basically snorting drugs again, Upon learning where Bender and his friends are thanks to Captain Hero, Muntz and Muntz's Dogs. Nacho leads the members of the cartel to said location Hero and Muntz gave him and he is told by Tuco to stash the guns to get ready for the ecounter.
The Next Morning he and the others fight with Bender, Luan, Slade, Anti Cosmo, Harry, Wile E, Bean, Elfo, Luci and King Zog and the insuring fight results in Becker getting most of the map. He unlike his crew goes in the background and is thinking on to use the infosphere for himself. He sees it as a way to get out of the Cartel respectfully as Becker and The Salamancas are getting too much for him to handle as he has worked with them for a while now.
Hero overhears Becker's meeting with Eladio and Bolsa, and Nacho finds him and they discuss their own intent with the Infosphere. Nacho wants to get out of the cartel life and Hero intends to use to get out of Becker's group himself.
Chapter 3[]
Nacho learns about Hero's attack on the group, and states that it's not worth pursuing the matter anyway when they didn't have the map. He learns about Becker's blackmailing of Hero as well and agrees to break away from the Cartel as his dad could be in the cross hairs
Not wanting to harm kids, he doesn't go help them with Bean and the others and watches with disapproval as Tuco kills the Caculator on a meth high
Chapter 4[]
Captain Hero comes back to Varga to report that the super "hero" has seen Bean and Bender's groups are going and that it looks like they may not get there first being behind both of the groups. Nacho reminds him that Becker can't get the infosphere as well and if so then Nacho and Hero will never escape the cartel, and his actions against Hector will be undone by Becker.
Nacho and Hero discuss the Twins being part of Becker's group now and now that things have gotten worse for them with how deadly they are telling Hero what he knows due to the Twins Mascaraing rival gangs single handily. He states they're the most skilled killers of the Salamanca Family and Cartel and are dead focused on their objective.
Varga arrives with the others to go after Wile E, Harry, Anti Cosmo, Slade, Luan and Bender to prevent from going any further. He also gets involved against Bean and her friends respectfully as they all fight for the map. Unlike the other Cartel members, Nacho is quick to see Bender and Wile E take the map and leave it with and notes that Luan was kidnapped by Bean and her friends indirectly.
After Becker threatens Hero again, Nacho learns about Becker's threat to Hero, and they decide to keep the heroes alive, Nacho suggests working with them though Hero turns it down for the moment as Hero is stubborn to accept help from anyone apart from Varga.
Chapter 5[]
Nacho and Hero join The Twins, Becker, Bunny and Claude and Yates in taking the short cut to the infosphere. Nacho tells Hero that it looks like sending Becker's forces after the heroes is doing what Nacho thought, Nacho intends to have the two groups unite against Becker even if it's still a fight for the infosphere. Hero questions why he intends to have them do so, Nacho states it's better to play the smart side of this. He needs to play pragmatic to take on Becker with all his allies with only Hero on his side.
He becomes unsettled by the death Becker commits on Hansel And Gretel as they get closer to the Infosphere. Nacho and Hero both prepare to double cross Becker unaware he is going to double cross them as well.
Chapter 6[]
Nacho arrives behind the other members of Becker's Cartel Subgroup. This is when He and Hero decide to betray Becker and decide to get the infosphere for themselves, though he decides to try hold Becker at gunpoint as Hero kills one of his goons to make it obvious they're against him.
Hero and Nacho begin fighting everyone else involved after the Mexican standoff between them. Nacho takes on The Twins, Tuco and Clarence Boddicker though the other heroes get involved in these fights. Which he decides to help due to his hatred of Becker and the cartel.
Becker tries to kill him and Hero for their betrayal, but they both throw him out the mountain. Nacho is intent to get the Infosphere's printed request, but is stopped by Death's arrival to the mountain and his fear of the mysterious wolf just entering the ring like nothing. He also made an observation that this wasn't a mountain but a volcano and calls for some back up to get out of here.
After watching Bender's fight with Death, he is attacked by Becker who is intent on killing him, Hero and Slade with Uroboros for revenge respectfully on the three. However this is stopped by Slade and the others, This is when Nacho and Hero decide to join forces with the heroes officially against Becker
As they all fight Becker, he observes Elfo's observation and Nacho leads the others into destroying the Infosphere to ensure Becker doesn't get it which Bender, Luan and Wile E also observe too.
After they all kill Becker successfully, Slade recruits Nacho to work for him and move to his establishing continent, where he can keep his father and him safe under him. Slade warns him that this is because if Becker has any partners in the Cartel, then he will come for Nacho and Hero for betraying him, and Slade can use his empire to allow him some safe passage.
Epilogue[]
Nacho moves into Slade's affordable living and is the first person, Slade got into this. He tells Slade that his dad stayed but Slade still swore his family's projection and gives Nacho the living conditions he has in mind here. Nacho and Slade both let in the rest of the refugees to Slade's country as Slade's first project was affordable housing
Double Life Emergence[]
Nacho returns to help Slade and his empire deal with the increasing Cartel activity. He is also alongside Captain Hero being targeted for betraying the Cartel by Don Eladio to help Slade, Anti Cosmo and Bender kill Kostas Becker.
Act 1[]
Episode 1[]
Nacho is recruited by Slade to help him and his allies deal with his ongoing war against The Cartel, using the fact he's an former member to help them out in this respect. Nacho is informed by Anti Cosmo about what Bender is going to do and he decides something might be going down Cartel affilated. This is something that he and Jesse Wells suspect and the two even discover The Cartel may have done something against Slade directly during the last attack and some other recent ambushes on his empire.
Episode 2[]
Nacho joins Harry in going with Bender, Luan, Wile E and Morgana to discuss her history in China Town. As the group suspect Morgana got her self involved against Eladio's Cartel, Nacho asks the Space Bandits if they can look into this for him and Bender, knowing they will answer to the latter. Zix agrees to this and they do their own looks into each of Morgana's activities confirming the suspicions they had.
Slade calls him up to join them at the Holloaway's hotel after their play diaster due to Riff Raff and Jack Horner's attempt to kill their daughter as he suspects they will need help. This is proven right when The Cartel shows for a standoff/shoot out with The Twins, Doug Stampler, Jack Horner, Anton Chregituh, Galf and Hardley which he joins to keep them off his back. After Slade gets nothing form his informant afterwards ,Nacho joins Slade to go where Tortunga is usually found only to not find anything.
He asks Jesse to get Bender and Luan there so they can do more observance as Harry and Celes leave so they can observe the last activity of the turtle man as he puts it.
Episode 3[]
Nacho decides he must find a way to help Captain Hero before the Cartel gets his hands on him and joins up with Luci and The Space Bandits to save them, though Slade warns him about getting into the trap of the Cartel through the arrest of his partner. Nacho decides if he can lure the Cartel to himself with them.
He pays a visit to Hero with the others and sees him breakdown over what The Cartel did with him, Nacho swears to help Hero escape and with The Space Bandits they arrange a trap with Luci against the guards so they can help the Captain escape
Nacho helps Hero escape with ease with the sewage being a way out and through that poster Hero has in his cell. They all manage to escape and head back to see Slade and the others reporting what the cops and warden were doing. Nacho then assists Wile E and The Space Bandits in helping Bender get some investigation in Milton Midas.
Episode 4[]
Nacho helps Captain Hero and G-Lo with the syringes Wile E had after assisting WIle E, Slade and The Bandits with getting Bender his meeting with Milton. Bean returns to inform him that the cops are looking for him for his role. Nacho isn't suprised that the Cartel knows this and decides to keep them distracted with Captain Hero and Bean so they can find the supplier to Anton's supplier. Thankfully both him and Hero know where and they go with Bean, Luci, Elfo and G-LO to find this supplier
He keeps his eyes peeled for any one with Hero as they make their way and discover the supply shop. Nacho, Hero, G-Lo and Bean though discover the supplier is dead. Worse that ANton even killed his own supplier as Luci figures through the video cameras. Noticing how Anton must have figured this out of his own accord, he plays patiently. The reservoir is where Nacho heads to after the band is brought back and he tells the others of what Anton managed to do.
Episode 5[]
Being familiar with trackers, he joins G-Lo, Luan and the others to go looking for how Anton got that tracker on Bean. He is a bit skeptical knowing the past attempt ended in failure as he follows his allies. With Cartel members knowing about this thanks to Anton, they decide to go after the team and take them out.
Nacho fights back against them with his allies as he brought his gun and engages in a shoot out with them like his crew, as he lets Luci go looking to find the location undetected. This gambit ultimately works out and it turns it was stolen from Slade during one of Anton and Gaff's ambushes on him.
He did get shot during his ambushes though and he is taken to the veterrian Caldera on Slade's employ to get the bullet wound out as he also observes what the other party brought from the farm areas.
Episode 6[]
He and Jessie are put on the mission to investigate Slade's Empire which G-LO goes with them to do as the rest go looking into the farm lands. Nacho arrives with the duo and they begin to sleuth around where all the area Slade asked them to go discovering the Slade mechs being taken, the trackers and the areas where the Cartel attacked Slade. Nacho also discovers with Jessie, notes that there are notes that enlist a sense of transactions that was given and affilations by the saboteur. His assoicates come back with something important and they discover how far back they went back before becoming offical as their mole was doing so before hand to other bad boys, then he betrayed Slade afterwards.
Nacho, Jessie and G-Lo Report this to Slade and the others and hand what they found to them, and what may be going on.
Act 2[]
Episode 7[]
Nacho arrives with Jesse who used her speed to get to Slade, Anti Cosmo, Bender, Wile E, Stan, Wendy, Dee Dee, Luci and G-LO about something that be of most interest to them. Though Nacho needs the bathroom first due to the speed being a bit too much for him to take.
Episode 8[]
Nacho and his allies look into the files of The villains The Brain recurited into the Brotherhood after the ordeal with The Titans and Doom Patrol. Nacho also overhears what G-LO is told about by Slade about his connections in the game as Nacho puts it in Jump City
Discovering a lab on their way back there, Nacho tries to talk Slade out of checking it as the lab was in the notes that he and Jessie found and it could be a trap for him. Slade goes ahead and decides that he will either spring a trap or find something here. This turns out true, as Nacho confirms as he was trying to get Slade from not seeing the attacks on his men and abduction of them which ended in a painful death at the hands of Cartel assoicates.
He declines an opporunity to try the drug himself as he is not a drug taker himself and ends up spying on G-Lo, Bicep and Captain Putty and their report over what happened before returning to hear that Bliss has gone on the streets thanks to the others.
Episode 9[]
Nacho decides to head off to Jump City with Jessie so they can look into Slade's allies back in his time in Jump City. Upon arrival and questioning Slade's contacts on what they have all been up to after Slade made his departure and how Slade has them treated, Nacho deducts that it must not be a direct ally of Slade's like others or even someone who apprenticed under Slade.
He is ambushed by a fusion of Slade's musclemen with the others and he does what he can to stop the monster. Though he has no real ability then using guns, he does use them to distract them as Captain Hero is able to defeat the monster and split it.
Nacho reports this to Slade afterwards of the events, and Slade does have his own ideas and answers, though he must pursue this himself.
Episode 10[]
He joins Luan and Slade on their side of things. Harrison, WIle E and Jessie have managed to bring Overload back to functions with their electrical power ups which has Wile E go into a frankstein impression which gets a look from the Wells who admits he always wanted to say that, Nacho just rolls with it and considers to have Overload join up with Cinderblock to deal with The Cartel's soldiers.
Harry, WIle E and Jessie manage to bring Overload back with Nacho and hear from Slade that they have been cornered by the cops and another overload. Wile E comments on how that's a cloning job and that someone has a sample of his power in the Cartel. Harry and Jessie go to help Luan, Slade and the others while Nacho and The Coyote begin to discuss who knows how to do that. Wile E and Nacho are able to figure that the source of the cloning is from a science who excels in cloning, one Johnny Orm as well who Wile E says this isn't his field but it does deal with dark matter which does deal with the field.
Episode 11[]
Nacho decides to help his allies in looking for any information at the nuclear effected ranch and brings Captain Hero and The Bandits with him. Through their looks, Nacho is able to discover Professor Chang is the mole to Slade's Empire and reports it to him. When the light of Don Eladio also comes, he and Captain Hero are both familiar with him due to their time under Becker. After revealing this, Nacho and Slade's allies decide to go get some plan to catch Eladio and to find where he lives.
Episode 12[]
Meanwhile Slade and his allies who are plotting the attack against Don Eladio and how Harry will go through with the move. Slade notices that what he does know thanks to Nacho and Captain Hero is that Eladio will be simple to take out as all he does is lye in the pool and get gifts, as Eladio isn't a really strong or fighter guy so sending anyone could be a brilliant idea. Harry says that Eladio is decently smart and knows who to trust and not to trust, and that his connections are why he is dangerous. Anti Cosmo tells Slade and co that Dee Dee has found that every major member has a idea where Eladio lives and she will be considering to go to Gus Fring on the locale. Celes agrees with this and if they can get his help, they can find his house and even get a idea of what the house looks. Slade, Anti Cosmo and Harry decide to send Jessie Wells to get the info once Dee Dee and The Space Bandits get in touch with Gus. Jessie and Nacho are curious about Professor Chang and how Slade knows him and he decides to reveal what he knows on the Professor and explains the events that went down where Chang was fired.
Bender, Wile E Coyote, Mop Girl, Elfo and Luci all get return and report to Slade and Anti Cosmo that Anton was trying to kill them again and that Mop Girl discovered Milton Midas was part of Chakai's group and helped cover the deaths of the robot's teammates and the multiversal resistance. Nacho and Hero are both privy to this as it turns out as Chakai did this before he met up with and was killed by Bender, Slade and Anti Cosmo. It just didn't come up at the time.
Returning To Bean, Captain Hero, The Space Bandits, Luci, Celes, Jessie Wells and Nacho, The Trio tell them that Bicep was killed by Captain Putty who framed G-LO for it and that they are going to be likely be stuck here as Midas has basically polluted the waters and it's leading to a increase in the rat population. Luan is told Morgana is closing up for the time being and leaving back to her boyfriend with this unknown child in bandages. He is also present after being called on the death of Morgana in part to Doug Stamper and Milton Midas.

Episode 13[]
Under Harry, Bean and Captain Hero, Nacho takes out and deals with the Cartel members Chang had to cover him from his trepassing act to talk to Bender and attempt to blackmail Slade's Empire. Nacho stays by Celes and Jessie to go up against the Cartel and discover the plots Milton Midas is up to. He is quick to discover that Midas is going actively against what the Cartel was about and is just stealing fellow criminal empires for his own to use. As the others question Nacho on this, he informs what Cartel rules are and that Midas decided to rewrite the surface and do what he wants now that he betrayed Eladio, he feels he can do what he wants.
Episode 14[]
With Jessie and Celes, Nacho assists Deathstroke and Stan's group in going after what Midas is after and lets off some steam by destroying some of Midas's infastrucutre at his farm as he discovers he stole it from Morgana and learns that he basically demolished her restaurant to make way for his own after her death. He also considers a risky plan to potentially deal with Midas though consorts both Captain Hero and Celes about it.
Episode 15[]
Nacho decided to visit Hector and The Cousins to try and propose a plan to deal with Midas, despite their animosity against him they won't rat him out. Though Jack Horner is willing to deal with this thankfully and Nacho decides to take his own offer. He has Hero, Bean and Stan continue to trade info on things to Jack Horner as well as he thinks on what Midas is really plotting taking pages from both Gus and Hector.
He then learns that The Salmancas have been mutated by something into chicken/lizard hybrids and learns of what Midsa has been setting up.
Episode 16[]
Nacho teams up with Bender and Slade to go investigating the farms that Midas has and the restaurant that Midas had been using for his goals, Slade decides to take some revenge on him and Chang and has Nacho destroy and burn one down in which Nacho does just this. Despite Nacho causing the fire, The Cops on the Cartel ignore trying to arrest him in favor of Bender, Anti Cosmo and Slade which ends being a benefit to him
Episode 17[]
Using his own Cartel connetions, he is able to discover Midas's plans and informs Slade and Bender of what he has found and that it might be benefittal to turn what Midas is attempting on Hector and Jack Horner back on him which the team follows with though Midas has other plans and puts them on edge with using a bunch of Chickadatyls which the group can't hurt
Episode 18[]
Learning that Professor Chang is intending to destroy the empire he took arms with have betraying them with Captain Hero, Nacho is willing to help Slade in this do or die situation regarding Midas.
Act 4[]
Episode 19[]
Nacho assists in the start of the attack towards Midas under Slade and Anti Cosmo's orders so they can insure that they get a good way in to the base and that he is also covered by Harry Wells as well who pulls him after he catches a few bullets from Midas's own pawns
Episode 22[]
Nacho eventually is able to heal from his wounds from receiving a way through treatment from Celes and Jessie who despite knowing he hates the Salamancas, tell him that he has to heal them too as they were victims of Midas like them. Nacho reculatnly agrees to this
Episode 23[]
After discussing the aftermath, He and Captain Hero return back to the latter's home as Hero has decided to house him after Professor Chang's actions caused his living quarters to be damaged.

Chapter 8: Earth X's Last Stand[]
Nacho is one of the members of Slade's empire that faces off with the Cartel as they work with Calamity, Chip , Dale, Dale Gribble, Hailey Banks, Libby, Scrooge and Spider Gwen to try and get AC, Bender, Harry, Marcy and Slade back. While also taking on Thawne after he reveals himself.
War of The Streams[]
Nacho manages to get away from Underwood's sealing off of Slade's Empire with other allies and ends up finding Bender's allies lead by Bean and Stan Marsh. Nacho with the rest of Slade's allies ally with the others and help fight off the rest of the Cartel under Frank Underwood. He is not comfortable due to trying to live a life without the criminal world, he does admit he is fighting to help Captain Hero who he learns is trapped in Dreamland.
Working with the others, Nacho manages to take down the Cartel and Cabinet. But he is threatened by Pablo Escabar and Underwood's Cabinet and with his father being threatened and brutal torture. Nacho kills himself while taking down Escabar as well.
