Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, Sergeant Hartman, or simply just Hartman, is the main antagonist from the war-drama movie Full Metal Jacket. He is a foul-mouthed drill sergeant who bullies his recruits, most frequently Private Pyle because he is a "disgusting fatbody". Because of all this, Private Pyle has been driven insane and decided to shoot Hartman, and then commited suicide. He is played by former drill sergeant R. Lee Ermey, who ad-libbed Hartman's quotes during the making of the film

Chapter 2: Past, Present and Future Unite[]
Hartman returns and joins forces with Solider Boy in his military like plans and he is the drill sergeant who trains Solider Boy's men. Spider Noir has infiltrated Solider Boy's hideout and he ends up spying on Solider Boy and the rest of his goons, apart from Sharon Carter. Hartman leads his men into attacking the heroes, though similar to Ripper, he does show a grudging admiration for the heroes, saying they would be great under him.
Wade, Hartman and Ripper bring in more men to Solider Boy Hartman then oversees Steve's capture and sees an opportunity to make the man a real solider instead of such short cuts with that serum
As Solider Boy and his guys brainwash Steve, the others decide to make their next move on Carter who is caught which involved a strapped table. Shepherd is guarding the others and learns McBragg killed his men, this is when comes to him that it's do or die time.
He was blindsided by Captain Carter with the help of Sergeant Oakley who gets the lights turned off and is knocked out.
Hartman is then captured and court marshalled by Peggy and McBragg.
Chapter 3: Solider Boy's Final Stand[]
He is cleared of his charges with the others thanks to Sharon's connections. SB and his allies decide to proceed to the next part and free the 2 super soldiers to use in their plans. which is a false flag operations
Hartman leads his men to follow the heroes on Solider Boy's Orders. He finds them through his tracking skills and has the heroes attacked
Sharon comes to get him and tells she'll take it from here.
He takes on the M.O.D.A.B Crew with McBragg and they are tasked with going after the group still and he is eventually dispatched from dealing with them. He resolves to harden them into soliders like he attempted to do Steve but this backfires on them as the insanity of the some of the heroes goes out of hand thanks to his abuse, and he is killed by them.
