Gellert Grindelwald is a Dark Wizard from the Harry Potter universe. Grindelwald was an old friend of Albus Dumbledore before his downward spiral into villainy becoming his arch-nemesis, and considered one of the most powerful and dangerous Dark Wizards of all time, with Lord Voldemort considered to be the only one able to surpass him. Believing that wizardkind was oppressed by the non-magical, Grindelwald sought to establish a new world order in which Witches and Wizards ruled over Muggles, claiming that his actions were "for the greater good".
