Gary Oak is Professor Oak's grandson and Ash Ketchum's rival in the first few seasons. His Starter Pokémon was a Squirtle that later evolved into a Blastoise.

While Romeo Conbolt is on the quest to fight evil, Gary approached him and asked him for a battle. Although Romeo claimed he was too weak to work, he jumped up, ready to battle.
O course, he debuted in Journey through Kanto, as Ash's spoiled rival, always having his ladies swarming around him and bullying Ash all the way, even with Misty in her mermaid form. He especially hates Fox, even in Ultimate Story 2. He hardly has any supervision from his grandpa, ad when he does, he mauls his dog!
