Flare is an OC created by Fanfictiondreamer for a very special story, the Fayelons Story. She is from a race of magic wielding aliens known as the Fayelons. She was the third person that Jewel had befriended aside from her 2 childhood friends, Aera and Splash. One day, the girls bared witness a terrible event which involved the deaths of thousands of people from their realm. From there, she and her friends took it upon themselves to protect their realm and all those who live in it by stealing some special items and keeping them away from the person who has caused the travesty.
She and her friends have wondered the universe for several months until they arrived within the Milky Way galaxy where they decided to take their stand against the one who has threatened their realm and the lives of all those who lived in it. Together with the crew of the Normandy, they aim to put a stop to this once and for all.

Personality[]
Flare is a calm and collective young girl. She tends to act as the motherly one of the girls, be it keeping them composed or having to deal with childish conflicts amongst the group. Despite her being a pyromancer, she seldom loses her temper. That, however, is not as ironic as it may seem. Her calm and composed behavior derives from her culture of pyromancers' ongoing tradition of meditation and other exercises as a means of better controlling their powers as well as themselves. This has greatly influenced her behavior, causing her to be exactly what she is today.
During her youth, she didn't make a lot of friends, so she tends to be secluded, but is not coy. However, due to many fearing the pyromancers regardless of their efforts to compose themselves, she really didn't have much luck with making friends, which causes her to feel withdrawn, that is until Jewel and her childhood friends came into her life and decided to give her a chance. From there, she has remained with them ever since. She cherishes the friends that she has considering that she only has so few of them. Because of this, she is willing to follow her friends and help them out with whatever they need from her. She also has a strong sense of justice because of her training, believing that all evil doers are individuals with no self-control and such is a terrible crime all by itself.
However, despite her being so calm and composed, she also has a funny quirk of being a glutton. She loves food!! So much so that whenever she would see mountains of it, she wouldn't be able to hold herself back and would find herself stuffing her face almost endlessly without being able to stop herself. This attracted the attention of the 2 krogan members of the Normandy, Wrex and Grunt. This is probably because her training has caused her to develop a high metabolism and because of this, she could stuff down loads of food effortlessly, much to the annoyance of her friends.

Flare's Metamorphose Form
Flare, being a pyromancer, has control over the element, fire. She can generate flames at will. They are her main source of attack. She can shoot out fireballs, jets of flames, can ignite herself and can even spread fire at will.
However, from her advanced training, she is able to control her fire powers without her flames causing any damage to her surroundings. She is able to set blazes without them burning anything. She is also able to control her flames to a point where others around her aren't hurt or injured. She is also able to prevent her flames from spreading even when there are flammable objects around, such as wood or oil. She rarely loses control of her flames and is able keep them from becoming a threat to everything and everyone around her.
She also has a power to induce explosions. This is her most powerful form of attack. However, she rarely uses it as she has yet to fully control this power. That is because her explosions are a more advanced form of her magic, so it is difficult to figure out how to fully control. Her explosions have shown to be lethal and because she has no desire to kill anyone, she holds back on using this power unless she is forced to. However, when her friends and allies are out of harm's way, she does use this power freely, knowing that those she cares about won't be harmed or killed by her explosions. Over time, she learns how to use this power without having it be fatal.
She also has a special healing ability. Through her special training, she is able to utilize this power which is known to her kind as the Heat of Life. Through this, she can utilize her powers' natural heat to recover serious injuries. As she undergoes these special powers, she goes into a deep meditation as a means to focus it better. However, she can be left vulnerable to enemy attacks, so she needs to be protected as she is using her healing powers. She eventually figures out how to materialize a barrier around her to protect herself as she is using her healing powers.
Origin Story[]
Flare comes from a very cultural world. Her people, the Pyromancers, have always feared losing control of their powers as well as themselves. Because of this, they have taken on a spiritual custom of meditation and deep training of maintaining their self-restraint. From this, there have been very little pyromancers that are destructive, short-tempered or passive-aggressive.
Flare had taken on this culture as part of her life. She had been taught everything that she knew from her grandfather, a cultural man. She looks up to her grandfather as a respected mentor and has a wonderful relationship with him. Her parents aren't anywhere near as cultural as her or her grandfather, so her parents tend to have a difficult time understanding the importance of these customs. She has an OK relationship with her parents, being at peace with their thoughts on these customs not being as important as everyone else portray them to be.
Not much can be said about her childhood, though, it was a somewhat secluded one, having interacted with her peers somewhat and not having too many interests in making friends with them. Also, she didn't interact with other worlds due to the other Fayelons' fear of pyromancers regardless of their practices towards self-restraint.
Upon reaching the age of taking courses with other Fayelons, others from different worlds refused to even approach her. However, Jewel, Aera and Splash were the first to approach her, expressing interest in her and her culture. They didn't seem as fearful of her kind as many others and find her to be quite fascinating. They were the first friends that Flare ever had and had stayed with them every since. She is also quite pleased with them being interested in her culture as well as opening up to her. They never expressed any fear towards the pyromancers as they felt that the many different kinds of magic wielders are unique.
Trivia[]
- A lot of the culture that Flare came from was based off of a lot of the ideas from the Fire Nation, in which her culture is fearful of becoming the kind of monsters that the Nation had been.
- Flare is somewhat based off of Bloom of the Winx Club. There isn't much that they both have in common with one another, but Bloom is the reason why Flare is listed as second in the character roster.
- Flare's calm and composed demeaner is based off of the opposite of the common behavioral traits of pyromancers. Funnily enough, she is the most calm and composed of the Fayelons, opposite to the aquamancer who could throw a violent fit at the drop of a hat.
- Flare's own mature demeanor is based off of Fanfictiondreamer's own maturity. Both prefer to approach conflicts in a reasonable manner rather than escalate any tension. Both are also non-confrontational.
- Fanfictiondreamer imagined a young but mature voice for Flare and feels that Vanessa Marshall would be a great choice for that.
- Flare has the most unique hand-dominant feature. While both Star and Splash are right-handed and Jewel and Aera are left-handed, Flare is ambidextrous, meaning that she his both right-handed and left-handed. Such is an important part of her culture as a means of maintaining balance with oneself.
- Despite having some similarities to Sailor Mars, Fanfictiondreamer did NOT base Flare off of her, rather, she wanted to create a more calm and composed pyromancer as a fiery temper is a common trait among pyromancers.
- The original idea for why Flare was so deeply interested in food was because she was training for so long that she missed out on eating, therefore causing her to develop a very high metabolism. But due to the concept of food being portrayed as nothing more than pleasure was scrapped and was instead changed to having her eat more meals than the average recommendation. However, it could return as an interesting plot twist in the story.
- Flare isn't so much an abuse victim as it was moreso the influences in her life were the results of her kind being mistreated over the years.
