Flap is a male bat character who appeared in JumpStart Adventures 4th Grade: Haunted Island. He is commonly seen as the mascot for that game.

Chapter 2[]
Lincoln wakes up in another part of the island and sees both Hilda and Lydia with him. Lincoln asks them what happened. This is when the bat arrives and introduceshimself as Flap.
Lincoln asks about him and Flap tells him that he was turned into a bat himself a long time when he was a kid by Mrs.Grungle. Lincoln inquires that that must have been the witch who attacked them. Flap nods and that his friends were turned into monsters apart from a few of them and it looks like they're working to reverse it. Lydia gets up herself and asks who is he talking to.
Flap talks to Lydia and states that they're on the other side of Haunted Island, Horror Land an amusement park of the haunted variety and that people never come back from here or are made into attractions or helpers of the park. Lydia states well that isn't happening to them. Flap sees it in both of them and tells Lincoln and Lydia that he knows a way out and can help them throught the park.
Lincoln, Lydia and Flap arrive to see Hilda's torment and Lincoln jumps in to save Hilda with Lydia using the Stones to keep Vecna laid down though she can't see him, she can feel his presence. Flap helps Lincoln save Hilda and Hilda is panickly with Lincoln trying to hold her down and tell her to snap out of it.
Lydia and Flap watch as Linc does so. Flap being observant asks Hilda what did she in the hallunciation.
Hilda tells Lydia and Lincoln that she hallunicated the events of her deal with the Trundle. Lydia not hearing about The Trundle questions this being
Flip has being patient and tells them that they must keep moving to ensure no one can trap them. Lydia, Lincoln and Hilda all follow Flap around the park knowing that the bat is right.
Lincoln, Lydia, Hilda are led by Flap to the Carnival of Screams which is their first area Flap needs to take them. Flap shows them the rides of Calamity Canyon, Wheel of Misfortune, HorrorLand Derby, Monster Mash, Dead Ringer,Bumper Carnage and the closed rides of
Ghost Train, Terrible Teacups, Ferris Squeal. Lydia realizes that they will need to ride each ride to get to the next part of the area. Lydia,Lincoln, Hilda and Flap go up the Calamity Canyon by climbing and avoding traps. Then head to the wheel of misfortune which is torture for the trio as they get trapped multiple times, requiring Flap to save them.
Lincoln, Lydia, Hilda and Flap all head into where Hilda is suffering headaches and a nose bleed. Lydia, Lincoln and Flap notice this and the former two realize Henry/Vecna/One's curse is doing it's toll on Hilda.
They go through the darkest isles with Flap leading them as Lincoln, Hilda and Lydia moving slowly and scared that they are going to be attacked. Flap tries to calm them down, but they jump looking at the eyes in the shadows.
Flap advises the three that they need to go down the river and considers the open casket
Flap admits for such a horrorland, the cruise is nice, Lydia feels something is going to happen as something is too good. This is proven when the casket slams shut on the three. Lincoln, Hilda and Lydia are scared and spiders crawl on them with Lincoln in Lydia's hands as he is really scared. Hilda, Lincoln, Lydia and Flap all do their darnest to try and escape the coffin,
Flap is sucessful and the three crash into a rock sending them flying into Werewolf Village where Flap advises that this is the next way through and that the werewolves won't harm them as they're passive. Kikmora though nearly starts a fire following them as Carmilla tried to murder them with the casket ploy.
Lincoln, HIlda, Flap and Lydia head into the forest where the fire follows them as they run, Carmilla has vampires set to eat and them in Vampire Village.
The Wild fire catches up and Lincoln trips almost to be killed, HIlda goes to save him, though Lydia steps in and uses the reality stone to stop the fire with water. Lydia and Hilda drag Lincoln up by his hands and Flap continues to lead the way to Vampire Village
Flap leads them into the village and informs them that this is his part of the village as it's inhabiated by bats of all kinds, and that the bat barn is where he wants to make a stop first. Carmilla and the vamps decide to pursue them.
Carmilla and The Vamps corner them in the bat barn, Though Flap defends the kids from them. Carmilla doesn't care and decides to have the bat killed for Belos. However Flap's fellow bats help him and keep Carmilla and The Vamps distracted for three to escape.
Carmilla is dealing with Flap and the bats and it turns out Carmilla and Belos are intending to consume Flap as he is potentially like Flapjack. Lincoln, Lydia and Hilda are succesfull against the Demo dogs and Demobats.
Lydia watches and decides a full play and uses 4 of the stones to get rid of the Upside Down residients and blind the Soviet Demogorgon from them. SHe hands the other 2 to Lincoln to help deal to save Flap
Afterwards, Flap leads Lincoln, Hilda and Lydia throught the Yellow Road they leads to the Fever Swamp which is a waterish park. Flap leads them through the swimming pond with alligatiors. It's remarkably warm, Lincoln notes this wanting to just lie there and floats to the other side with Flap helping as he just settles in
Hilda and Lydia both look at him, and Lincoln's dorkness is endaering to the two of them. Lydia inquires Hilda about what happened back there. Though Hilda is annoyed Lydia is intereveting with things, she notes how seriously The Trundle was for her and decides to tell the truth. Lydia joins Lincoln and Flap and tells HIlda to join them, Hilda decides to as the three float to the end.
Flap advises the three that they are now here in Mad Labs with a theme of Mad Scientist aspect and the three follow the bat thorough it and the three go on the rides and come out find leading them to Terror Tombs.
Lincoln and Lydia see Flap and they tell the bat to follow them as Flap could be targeted by Belos like Leia could have been. Flap agrees and follows them.
Flap arrives to Angus and Angus decides to keep Flap safe at Loch Loud with the rat helping him. Jauna confides in the bat, that he is scared for his family as this thing is after Hilda like the others and is powerless to do something about it.
Chapter 3[]
Jaune inquires what Angus and Flap found out, As it turns out found out abot how The Wand Connects to the dragon egg that Sid revealed she found and that everything seems like a mystical or magic contraption. Flap states that the Mountains are where another one can be found although it's vague which contraption lies there.
Anne tells Angus and Flap that if they find anything else give them a hoot, which the two agree to do.
Angus and Flap arrive with the results of the dragon egg and wand of Mrs.Grunkle and it turns these magic items are essential to something important though they have no idea.
Angus and Flap both are looking into the dragon egg and it hatches into a small dragon. Flap thinks it's cute and Angus says they're supposed to be. He tells the bat that feeding the dragon will cause it to grow as he knows from personal expereince
Flap states and the wand seems like it's influencing something as it glows frequently. Angus states it's working and it dictating something and they need to get to the others
The Whole Crew all meet back up with the boxes. Angus and Flap call them and see they got the music boxes. Agnus states it's directing them somewhere, he sees the music boxes and Ford and Jauna turn the boxes on and it plays music.
Angus gets the book to hear the music and Flap looks at it and they know the track well enough. It is directing somewhere. Jauna knows it as does Hilda and they realize it's Trolberg where they must go. Jaune goes looking for Joanna though Ford does stop him from acting rash
Chapter 4[]
Lincoln and Lydia see Flap who tell the two that he checked Royal Woods as ordered and nothing seems off in Royal Woods. Lincoln asks is he sure, Flap told Lincoln that he tried to use what was used to lure out any posessions in Royal Woods and that Clyde will help out any way possible but they will have to keep their connections. Clyde has been looking into Vecna for Lincoln as well as Emperor Belos and has been attempting to use Lisa's technology to find Luz and the others.
Chapter 5[]
Flap joins Ford, Angus, HIlda, Johanna, Mulder and Scully to go looking for the lab, to find their info as the latter two are able to get them in. They find some of the info needed as part of their investigation, though Flap is quick to notice that Trundle and Tezkel Kan have arrived here as well.
He tries to warn them about the two, though he is swat way by the two as a result. He is saved by Ford and Hilda who go after him and Hilda spefically has him brought back out of the lab before Trundle finds her and tries to finish what he started with Joanna and her.
Chapter 7[]
Flap arrives and stays hidden to avoid Belos and others, He then helps HIlda get back to her human form.

Flap keeps an eye on thigs to insure everyone is doing just fine
