Bastion Misawa, known in Japan as Daichi Misawa, is a highly analytic Duelist who resides in the Ra Yellow dorm at Duel Academy. Bastion is a mathematical genius who covers his cards and the walls of his room with endless numeric formulas, believing that everything in life can be calculated arithmetically. The neglect of his character is a running gag throughout the series in the anime as well as in the manga version of GX.
Originally a friend and sometimes rival of Jaden Yuki, Bastion's role in the anime slightly decreases as each arc passes, although his role in the manga does not.

Bastion Misawa debutted as one of Marika Kato's followers. He is very loyal to his leader. He went on a practice training with Milinda Brantini and her friends as well.

Suddenly, he and the people were visited by the Symphogear heroines and their friends for the first time. After the meeting was finished, Kouta and the heroes left their homeplanet Mars, thus leaving their families and their homes behind. While continuing to escort Futaba Ichinose and Chitose Karasuma, he and his friends were confronted by the people of the Knights of Gjallarhorn. However, he and the heroes managed to best them by sending Flint Lockwood and Steve the Monkey into another ship. Kazumi and the heroes Transylvanian Business for the first time.

Suddenly, he and the heroes were confronted by the combined forces of Yuinshiel Asteria and Vladilena Milizé, including the Sword of Logos Kamen Riders. Following the defeats of Julieta Juris and the Time Jackers, he and the others had mourned the deaths of Leo Conrad and Sally Land. Kazumi and the others continued their journey.
After the deaths of Leo Conrad and Sally Land, he and the heroes went on a meeting with Hina Amano's family and the Fenix Group. In order to continue adventures, he and the heroes train more to get strong with each other. After the meeting with Hina Amano's family and the Fenix Group, he and the heroes set off to rescue Mana Nagase and her friends from Gunther Prozen's tyranny.
