Echo is a robot from the Overwatch series that consists of a highly advanced artificial intelligence. She was built by Dr. Mina Liao who dreamed of creating a robot that could benefit humanity. Unfortunately, Dr. Liao was killed before she was able to see her dream fulfilled. Echo is said to have adaptive capabilities, being able to learn about everything around her. She was also built with the same personalities of her late creator. Not much was known about Dr. Liao and her intentions, but only a few knew of her creation's true nature. Among those who were aware of her true intentions were McCree/Cassidy, who played a role in having helped Echo.
Echo has the ability to adapt to anyone that she encounters. For the Overwatch game, her Ultimate is adaptability, enabling her to take on the form and abilities of one member of the opposing team. She would even talk like them to an extent. She would, however, return to normal after a brief period of time. She can come off as naive at times as she still has much to learn, but is intelligent nonetheless.
Some time after Overwatch was reinstated, she became one of its members, having been an invaluable team member. She has learned much from observing her team members, even became among their friends. She has played roles in her new team in a number of missions, such as the fight against Null Sector when the terrorist organization began its attack across the whole world. From piloting to fighting, she had served a truly invaluable team member.
