The Enforcement Droid, Series 209, or ED-209, is a villain from Robocop.
ED-209 is a self-sufficient peacekeeping and law enforcement robot created by Omni Consumer Products senior VP Dick Jones. Currently, ED-209 is programed for urban pacification. However, OCP and Jones had negotiated contracts with the military for use in war.
Its advantage is that it sports high firepower. Its first disadvantage that was shown was a very disastrous malfunction, as junior executive Kinney was simulating an arrest and disarming procedure. 209 ordered him to drop his gun, which he did. ED-209 malfunctions and, as a result, he doesn't read that Kinney had complied, therefor, he blasted Kinney to death, continuously firing at him even after death. Dr. McNamara then shut him down by yanking a plug. After this, Bob Morton was given the green light for his Robocop program.
