Doctor René Emile Belloq, more commonly known as René Belloq or simply Belloq, is the main antagonist of the 1981 iconic action-adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first installment of the Indiana Jones series.
He is the archenemy of Indiana Jones since their days on the Sorbonne. Belloq is a French archaeologist who takes credit for Jones' findings. In 1936, when Herman Dietrich hires him to find the Ark of the Covenant under the orders of Adolf Hitler, Belloq decides to work for the Nazis so he can unlock the Ark's powers first and get rid of Indiana once and for all.
He was portrayed by Paul Freeman, who also played James Moriarty in Without a Clue, Ivan Ooze in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, and Reverend Philip Shooter in Hot Fuzz.

Chapter 7: X Marks The Spot[]
Belloq has joined with Dark Arrow and his Reichmen for the profit and his archaeologist skills. He manages to deduct the Infinity Stones and their use for Dark Arrow and locates some relics for him and his allies to use. Elsa Schindler is who obtains the relics for him
Belloq personally accompanies Dark Arrow on their trek to go after the heroes, and tries to break into the ship to get his hands on the Space Stone. Though this doesn't go as planned. Knowing some risks are too high, Belloq heads off to tell Dark Arrow he has confirmation they know about the stones.
Chapter 8: Earth X's Last Stand[]
Belloq continues to do favors for Dark Arrow and arranges the plans he made for conquering the universe. He gave DA the holy artifacts to use against the heroes. However he is betrayed by Elsa and is killed by the Ark who gives it to him.
