Commando Droids are an elite variant of battle droids that are used for special forces missions.
Equipment and Abilities[]
Commando Droids are equipped with an E-5 blaster rifle that shoots blasts of plasma energy. They carry around hand-held explosions known as thermal detonators. For long range they use E-5s less accurate sniper rifle but compensates for it with additional help from a commando droid spotter to pinpoint targets to snipe. Their melee weapon of choice is the vibroswords that they carry into battle for close quarter combat, its metal providing them protection against lightsabers, bladed weapons, blocking blaster projectiles but not able to deflect them, the only weakness is that it cannot protect against electrical weapons and attacks. For spying the Commando Droids use electrobinoculars for viewing enemy forces from far away, imitate voices of the enemy and if they have any uniforms they would put them on to further the disguise in infiltrating the base, and using repulsorcams for short aerial recording surveillance devices. It would not be best recommended for the voicing part as they cannot mimic the interactions from the enemy without knowing it first. They are more stronger, faster, and agile than their b1 battle droid cousins. Other sneaking equipment would be an electric stun baton that brings out strong jolts of electricity to knock down a target and using a torch device for cutting down locked doors and barricades. A Commando Droids armor lets them take multiple hits from blaster weapons but their heads only take one shot to be killed.
Multi-Universe[]
General Grievous has small groups of Commando Droids deactivated in his seperatist flagship. Commando Droids are only summoned by him when the droid general assigns them dangerous missions to take.
