The female counterpart of Commander Shepard. She is voiced by Jennifer Hale.
Mass Effect[]
If the player chooses to be the the female Shepard, then there would be a few changes involving the gender. She would still play the same roles as the male Shepard, however, all of her love interests would be male with the exception of the asari as well as a few bi-sexual women plus one lesbian.
The Fayelons Story[]
in the story, she takes on her default look as well as her default name, Jane.
In the story, she is the male Shepard's cousin as their fathers were brothers, with her father being younger than his. Also in this story, she is revealed to be a spacer while her cousin was a colonist, consisting of the back stories of both. Her father was killed in action not long after his parents, her aunt and uncle, were killed by the Batarian Slavers that attacked his colony. Her mother is the only one of their parents who is still alive. Her mother, Hannah Shepard, worries constantly about her nephew and has expressed ongoing concerns regarding when he will awaken from his coma.
She first met the girls during their second visit at the Grissom Academy. She had a chance to reunite with her friends of the Normandy crew and even tries her hardest to maintain her relationship with Garrus, which is something that he also tries to do. It was hinted before her first appearance that he was involved with her, to which no one in the crew denied. Thankfully, they cared about each other enough to work through the complications of their important jobs keeping them from spending time together and Admiral Hackett has managed to arrange to have her work with the crew members more often so that they can.
