Clank (real designation XJ-0461, serial number B5429671) is the secondary titular protagonist and playable character of the Ratchet & Clank series. He is a robot created by the Zoni, who possesses a Zoni soul, and is Ratchet's best friend.
The Ratchet and Kim Possible Chronicles[]
Clank made his first appearance alongside Ratchet in the very beginning of the first book, Kim Possible: the Extremely Secret Files .
During the beginning, Clank noticed Ratchet staring out at something from outside the space cruiser that they were staying in. When he looked out, he spotted Dr. Possible's space station: The Impossible Space Station of the Future (ISSF). The duo stared out at it for several hours.
When Kim and Ron arrived within Dr. Possible's space shuttle, the duo watched from within the cruiser as the shuttle attempted to enter the space station. However, Ratchet didn't stand around for long as he rushed out to rescue Kim and Ron with Clank trying to call him back.
After Ratchet brought Kim and Ron to the space cruiser, Clank had the chance to meet them with very little intention of chasing them away. They heard everything about what the space station was and why they came for it. From there, Ratchet decided to help out with getting back the space station with Clank going along with him.
During the time that Ratchet and Clank were getting to know Kim and Ron, Clank took notice of Ratchet becoming enamored with Kim, from hearing her stories of her exploits to the gestures that she and Ratchet were making while they were working on the space shuttle. When he and Ron talked about this with each other, Ron was a little wierded out while Clank thought that Kim and Ratchet developing feelings for each other was kind of sweet.
