Claire Hale, previously known by her married name Claire Underwood or Claire Hale-Underwood, is the main deuteragonist of the Netflix series House of Cards. She is Frank Underwood's wife and number one co-conspirator, as she happens to be as cunning, manipulative and ruthless as her husband.
Claire is a very strong and decisive woman. She is ready to do whatever it takes to gain what she wants and doesn't let her feelings get in the way. Like Frank, she is cunning, ruthless, and manipulative. She is willing to betray everyone and also erase anyone who will pose as threat to her. However she has a soft side since she is being seen to have some regrets (ex. when she fails to save Corrigan or when she abandons her protege) and she has affection towards others such as Tom Yates, Adam and even her mother, with whom she has a very troubled relationship.

Claire serves as Frank's spy as she has undercovered how Bender, Anti Cosmo, Slade, Luan, Harry Wells, Wile E Coyote, Mop Girl, Dee Dee, Malcolm Merlyn and Mysterion have been dealing with the Russians. Frank instructs Claire to insure that the heroes get back with Solider Boy as they will use him against Milton Midas.
Later on, she is able to learn what Colonel Kuritz is up to with Frank and what she intends to do with Lydia, Lincoln and the rest of the group that went to Russia as well.
Episode 15[]
Arriving with her husband, they finally show themselves to Bender and his friends after the whole ordeal with Solider Boy as well as with Midas is up to. She also later spies on Midas discovering he has some plans going with the cops when it comes to Bender as well being help Officer Affable to find Deathstroke.
She also arrives to investigate the situation Deathstroke and the others found on Midas's stand as well before telling Bender on what his way back to China Town about the break in to Star Labs and the struggle between Frank and Midas that happened. Then later she informs Frank of the gang returning with Solider Boy hence Midas's days are numbered.
Episode 16[]
She is in touch with Deathstroke, Captain Hero, Bean and the others assiting them in freeing G-LO for her and her husband's own agenda to deal with Midas further than using Solider Boy against them.
Her, Frank, Doug Stamper, Bender, Wile E, Luan, Slade and Anti Cosmo later discover what is going up back in Russia as Deathstroke undercovered a project of using meta humans and powers like what Solider Boy has.
Later on when the cops try to arrest Bender and his gang, Claire and Frank put a stop to it as they will take care of the robot and masked man themselves hiding their alliance with them to deal with Milton Midas as Midas knows Frank betrayed him but doesn't know of the arrangement they decided to make.
Episode 17[]
She does discover through Solider Boy that the project that they learned from Deathstroke is the Firestorm Project. Claire also manages to get some more info on Solider Boy as well to learn more about his actual self and then oversees Frank sell out Officer Affable to keep their suspicions on them aiding Slade, Anti Cosmo and Bender
Episode 18[]
WIth other things going down, it becomes time to deal with the eagle directly and decides to co-operate with making a cure for rat rot with Deathstroke's associates so they can bring an end to what Midas did with intent to improve Frank and his cabinet's rep.

Claire sends her own reinforcements with Frank and Doug to put an end to Midas and his operations and is able to assist in getting all the info out on him.
Episode 21[]
She overhears the news of MIdas's defeat at the hands of Bender, Luan and Wile E, Claire decides to deal with the rest of The Cartel under Midas with the others so the others can deal with Solider Boy
Episode 23[]
Claire is informed by Frank of what Eladio has done with their meeting and how Frank was right to come along and aid Bender against Midas. As this has allowed them and Stamper to rise in the Cartel for being onto Midas.
War of The Streams/House of Disenchanted Cards[]
Claire with the rest of the cabinet shows up with Frank Underwood to take control of the Cartel and to instill power to their Cabinet. She helps him in certain attributes but goes against him on others aspects. Claire is basically Frank's equal if not better and manages to cause trouble for the heroes respectfully. Working with her husband, Claire manages to get some personal info on Slade's Empire and The B Team and digs up info on them intend to expose them for their actions as well as alliance with the president Deathstroke respectfully. While Doug caught the info in regards to Slade and Anti Cosmo, Claire sniffled around Bender's past and learned of his many many crimes and knew he was going to be tough to fold against. She send Bad Bean and others to keep him distracted to prevent the others from getting his help.
Claire is essential to Underwood's plans and she eventually acts out against him when Underwood threatens her to an extent. Claire is intent on keeping her reputation safe and hiding her actions from the mutliverse as her husband isn't able to do so and even from Deathstroke.
After Underwood is defeated, Claire is captured by Slade's allies and cornered by Slade, Anti Cosmo and Bender who she admits are her equals which pains her to have expose them as they could have all been allies. She has the hard drives to reveal Anti Cosmo and Slade's crimes before they turned over their new leaves as well as Bender's constant criminal work to insure he is no longer safe under Deathstroke.
With a tricky game of I know, you know between her and the three respectively. Bender exposes her actions with Slade as he had Dale place a second bug in case Underwood found the first one. She is gunned down by Bender and Slade respectfully ending the Underwood legacy. Despite her being outplayed by them, she admits they were indeed the perfect adversaries for her and her cabinet respectfully, and expects them to get around the exposure even if she did so anyway.
