Christine Daae

Christine Daae is the main heroine in The Phantom of the Opera. She is a singer at Opera Populaire, and is the love interest of the Phantom.

Christine has been played by many actresses, notable ones possibly being Sarah Brightman (original London stage production) and Emmy Rossum (2004 film).

In this story, Christine has fallen in love with and married Erik, having only known Raoul for ONE day and knowing Erik much longer and better.

Christine also holds the knowledge of all that Erik did for her, which includes:

• Looking after her
• Protecting her
• Teaching her all she knows about singing
• Making sure the potential he believed she had was put to the best of use

Despite the dark deeds Erik has committed (which he feels remorse for), Christine has forgiven him having learned something important: sometimes those who are the hardest to love are those who need it the most.
