Queen Nerissa, known by her human pseudonym name Chelsea Van Der Zee, is the main antagonist of DreamWorks' 44th full-length animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.
She is the newest & most popular student at Oceanside High School. Posing as a regular human, her true form is actually a mermaid. Feigning a friendship with Ruby, Chelsea manipulates her into giving her a mythical trident, which she plans to use to increase her power, avenge her kind, and kill all the krakens. She is also the former friend & arch-nemesis of Ruby Gillman and the Gillman family as a whole.

Prologue[]
Chelesea has joined forces with the N.Trophies and is seen with Chandler as they eavesdropped on Hilda and the others. They tell The N.Tropies and Spot that it looks they are heading to see the kids N.Trophies is after and she swims after the ship.
Chelesa observed something of interest in hooded figures and reports this to N.Tropy, who infroms her she needs to pay attention. Chelsea and Chandler get a device to be sent to Clyde's house to assist The N.Trophies.

Chelsea shows up to distract Ruby, David and Dawn respectively as they were on the move admittingly and they learned she was in cahoots with Chandler
She is able to mapluliate David into not harming her while Dawn uses her Piplup and Ruby tussles with her to learn why she went after her friends as they didn't do anything to her. Chelsea just states the boss wants it and basically she was promised something from him and then uses mirrors to deflect Ruby's lasers. Before leaving with Crocker and causing water damage to the house

Chandler and Chelesa inform N.Tropy about them getting wise to him. N.Tropy and his Alternate self decide to enslave Girtatina and decide to use it's connection to dark matter to further their plans as Volo was who told them about Giratina. N.Tropy sets Volo off to the Hissuan Region.
Chapter 2[]
She and Chandler get in contact with Francis and Crocker and inform them of their success to get the Fairy Sickness on Jaune. Chelsea does question how this would even work as Jaune is a human and not a fairy, Crocker explains that N.Tropy and his alternate counterpart found a way to engineer it so that any human who had a personal night with a fairy regardless of how much DNA can get sick to it. When they had the twins, it made him suspectable to it. Chelesa doesn't get it though Chandler does and considers giving Lincoln it though Crocker turns this down.
Chelesa joins Marlyin and Von Gale to go after Nevermore, Alternate N.Tropy decides to place the odds more in their favor by fashioning a trident respectfully.
Part 2[]
Chelsea puruses Luna, Cuphead, Mugman and Miss Chalice to see what they're up to and decides to lure them to sea by using Cuphead's gullibility. She then shows up on the 4 and then fight them respectfully she powers herself with the trident to insure she can best them. Chelesa also does this to insure N.Tropy and his forces can use the full power of Crackstone.
Due to the Trident giving her full powers, and using other sea creatures, she manages to distract the 4 long enough to insure their plan got uninterrupted and uses the extra water to set the stage for their plan
Part 3[]
Melvinborg approaches her alongside Chandler and Veronica Gale to help him out with his plans regarding the Captain Underpants Universe. She questions why he trusts Chandler, which he explains it's because he's a kid and needs an even handle on this.
Chelsea also goes head to head with Boss Baby as well while the others deal with their own things and Chelesea ends unknowingly leading a further conneciton to what Spot and the others have done respectively.

Assisting Von Gale, Chelsea helps causes some storms respectively as her employers start their plan to destroy Trolberg.
Part 2[]
Chelesa assists N.Tropy and Spot in using the Chornton Detonator in Trolberg and goes to face to face with Ruby as well as Hobie and Pippi Long Stocking.
She uses her water powers to keep haste with the three as they fight her respectively. Pippi and Ruby decide to take her on and allow Hobie to attempt to find Hilda as he has the best chance of the three to do so. She is eventually pushed back by Ruby and Pippi and decides to make her escape knowing The Detonator will go off soon.
Chapter 4[]
Chelsea and Chandler are brought in to the fold by N.Tropy to deal with Skinner respectively due to his connections to the federal agents. She uses her powers to help Melvin Borg with this, but decides not to go pass the baseline where Chandler decides to try and have him arrested
Returning to the others, she becomes aware by Von Gale about what N.Tropy and his cronies really did.
Part 2[]
Van Gale talks to her about her own suspicions of N.Tropy's true plans and how he is not to be trusted. And that she wants to rebel against him respectively. Chelsea agrees with her as despite N.Tropy's promises, he has basically being leading her on his revenge plans and being inconsiderate of her own
Noticing Ruby is with the group heading to Flying Rhino, Chelsea decides to work with the other villains but as a cover so she can get Ruby to topple N.Tropy's plans with her friends respectfully. Chelsea does find Ruby and though she fights Ruby, she tries to warn her about what she knows on N.Tropy and Spot's plans. But Ruby doesn't trust her knowing she has being lied to before by her and won't let her trick her again.
Chelsea forced to retreat after everything was restored, goes back with the others and she is trying to find some way to convince Ruby of the truth.
Chapter 5[]
Chelsea and Van Gale regroup with Crocker and Polly and tell them what they have discovered on their so called boss who has been working with his own ends and being using them to get what he wants
Moro and Volo found out by this and decide to trap them in Area 51 and have them and the Fairies killed as they are sent down there for betraying N.Tropy. The 4 of them are then found by Hilda, The Agents and her family and she takes on Mulder and Scully trying to reason with them about what is going on
She is eventually detained and put through a lie detector which indicates she is telling the truth and they let her go to join them and the others in going after N.Tropy's real plan respectfully. Chelesa explains to the Hilda crew and the agents about what really is going on respectively with Spot's benefactor and what they found out. They must find a way to stop this respectfully
She arrives at the Flying Rhino Junior High school with the others and goes up against her former allies. When Ruby notices this, Chelesa reminds she was telling the truth about wanting to help as the group all go up against the majority of N.Tropy's forces. The mermaid also finds Lincoln, Lydia, Hobie and LL007 return and she is releived they're fine and they can stop N.Tropy. Though she does have to watch as Spot arrives and the main group of heroes go against him thinking he is behind all of this
Chapter 6[]
Chelsea and the others watch in horror as The N.Trophies's creation comes to live and conisders that thing a bigger monster than any Kraken she has dealt
As the entire group decide on how to destroy it and the scientists as well as Spot and Polly Sparks make a plan to take it out. Chelesa agrees to the conditions given
Ruby trusts her with the trident and uses to try and bring False Groudon down and slow it. It doesn't work and this makes her scared and she decides to use her own water powers to try and slow it down. She does it as a last resort and eventually she get sucked up, but saving Ruby altrustically supringing her and the others
Chelesa is eventually restored after The False Groudon and she feels better and came to a realization for all her vendetta against Ruby and Krakens. She was unwilling to use such means that were given to her and that Ruby was right to try and stop the war between kraken and mermaids. It certainly helps her Nerisssa alias was purged out of her as well at some point.
Epilogue[]
Chelsea on the night of the big Sadie Hawkins Dance decides she needs to make Lydia look great for her big night out with Lincoln. Chelesa convinces her to take it and she'll help.
Using what she uses on her own hair, she makes Lydia's hair volumetric and longer going from her shoulders to her elbows when down. Lydia is uncomfortable with this as she isn't interested in being attractive. Chelesa does hand her a dress to wear as well and what she gives her is a yellow microdress with brown like trousers and a pair of boots which she does
Chelesa presents Lydia to Lincoln and telling them to have a great time and when the two are alone, it turns Lydia does give Chelesa credit as while she made her hair large and long to the point it gets in her eye, she does like the outfit as it's not poofy or girl like, it screams individually and she is wearing colors she likes and an unusual get up.

Wednesday drops the mermaid bait and they wait, Chelesa does notice this and she takes the bait and goes into her human form to meet the two who were waiting for her. Wednesday admits she must be stupider than she thought, Though Penny is happy to see Chelesa.
Chelesa asks what's up to them and why she is here, Wednesday tells the mermiad she is on business and that the mermaid is going to answer this or she'll lose a finger or a tail. Chelesa rolls her eyes knowing Wednesday is still her. Penny takes the stage and asks if Chelesa knew anything about Spot's benefactor and backer as they are trying to find the Team Free Will Massacre culprit.
Chelesa explains that she has some idea, she does know that provided the way of trapping them in The Streamverse and had other designs spefically against both Lydia and Lincoln. Her bosses tried to trap there to kill them, they made other measures to go after the rest of Team Free Will. Wednesday asks who, Chelsea says two clock obsessed blue skinned brits and that one of them, the orginial dimension had an hand in even bigger actions than she knew
Penny asks what, Chelesa found out that her boss N.Tropy had actually orchstreated the death of an another mermaid and turned her ugly inside out with his mapluations after a person he worked slaughtered other mermaids. Penny is sympathetic to this and asks if she's fine, Chelesa admits she's okay, she has found some of her own kind, and has learned how some are made.
Wednesday decides to head out, asking Penny if she wants to talk go ahead, she will inform the others. Chelesa summons a pool with her trident and has Penny sit in it. but Penny stays for a while and learns Chelesa had befriended and met up with David who helped her realize what she wants to do. she also learned the results of the dance as well and is quite a bit happy with her results.
Part 3[]
Nate, Erica, Lincoln, Will, Lydia and Dee Dee all take a curious loo and notice a kraken but also a mermaid which is point to the others and when The Robot takes a closer look it is analyzed to be Ruby and Chelesa.
Chelesa is pretty aware that the group is here for something to do with summer as she was in touch with David afterwards. David admits that he doens't have much of a life out of HIlda and Frida so he decided to befriend her. Chelesa explains that it's good to see them here and that with her as their guide they can have a fun time under the sea. She also comments on the picture David showed her of Lincoln and Lydia commenting on adorable they were and her work did wonders. Lydia and Lincoln just looked baffled how far this went and give David looks for sharing that with her.
Larke and Troy are both relaxing at Goo Lagoon as is Chelesa who reveals she came here for vacation herself and to relax. Troy wants to continue his game with Clyde, Lincoln and Lydia and finish it, Larke tells him that he'll have to wait for them to get back from Sand Mountain. Chelesa informs Larke that she may have an idea who did the Team Free Will Massacre as she did work for the a blue skinned guy with clock themes and his alternate self though she and the others weren't trusted to the point that they told her or her allies their names.

She, Larke and Troy find themselves attacked by the Chaos bots where she decides to deal with them and drown them like Larke and Troy fight off them as she is aware that someone has been leeking something out to the others.
Ruby and Chelesa decide to stay in Bikini Bottom to keep an eye on things and she says goodbye to David as they do so.

Chelesa gets back with Larke and her friends at the Boys Universe and assists the former in cleaning up Lydia once again knowing who she can be really be when she tries since Chelesa helped get ready for the Sadie Hawkins Dance. When she and Larke do put their touches on her, she does feel some regret for making her fellow redhead go against what she wants. After the disaster, she decides to help Larke deal with the aftermath of Troy.
She also had a hand in turning Penny into a mermaid out of a sense of companionship and wanting to help make her stronger, she was studying the Mako Islands when it came to Cleo Setori who was part of Team Free Will. Upon seeing Penny's acceptance of it, she is happy to see Penny accept this as well as seeing Lydia embrace her inner confident free spirit like herself.
Chapter 4[]
Chelesa sticks with the Streaming Resistance to help mentor Penny in her powers and is able to assist her in preventing N.Tropy's forces for kidnapping her and she does seem to recongize Richfield saying that N.Tropy brought him back into the fold and that they will have to instigate a rescue of her
Chapter 5[]
Chelesa and the Streaming Resistance that split up with the main members end managing to rescue the team but found out about the flash freezing, she also runs into Slade's crew and discovers what N.Tropy is doing and she decides to head south with the team to stop what N.Tropy has done. She arrives a bit too late to see the demon arise and she panics
Chapter 6[]
Despite this she aids the Streaming Resistance and Team Free Will in dealing with the henchmen Urcumuu has and allows the other heroes to deal with him and an posssessed Billy Butcher. Later she is seen at a knighting and she helps get Lydia for her knighting and takes more consideration into what she would want. As she discovers, Peacemaker and The Streaming Resistance decided to recruit into the team after making an alliance with Team Free Will.
Book 3: Culmination[]
Chelesa is brought back into the fold by the help of Toby to help with the situation and she shows dissapoint that Lydia decided to get the short shoulder length hair look after everything that happened. Despite this, she decides to help her team take on N.Tropy's forces. Chelesa also informs the two and the rest of the team about her own invovlement of The N.Trophies as she does know their appearance while having to repel King Arthur/The Green Knight who attacks them under the Arcadian Order.
Working with Douxie, Chelesa and the group escape and go across all the times/eras that N.Tropy did damage to gather the rest of the gems and Crystals while fighting Bellroc and Skarel. She also helps set the stage up for Lincoln and Lydia to talk about what they recieved from Carmen and Juni. Chelesa asks if they can adopt the kids in the events Mulder and Scully get lobotomized, she is turned down as The Louds are still alive. Helping fight off Skarel and protecting the other more benevolent guardian Nari from the irredeemable members of the order.
She is also to reunite with her own mother as a result of visiting the after life as she watches Lydia, Lincoln and Jaune reunite with Pyrrha in the afterlife with Johanna before preparing for end game against Dr.N Tropy
