Pretty Cures

Pretty Cures are legendary warriors of the Pretty Cure universe. Each one takes on a variety of groups, each taking on a different conflict as well as protecting and saving different magical worlds from the forces of evil.

The Pretty Cures mainly consist of ordinary, young girls who are granted magical abilities by magical objects or magical fairies. Each warrior is chosen based on their spirit, courage, will power and aptitude. Some are hesitant to become one while others jump into it right away. Some are motivated by their desire to protect someone while others have been inspired by those who selflessly fight for and protect others.

Each new season consist of a different set of main characters and new Pretty Cures. The seasons also mainly follow a set pattern. For example, the first Pretty Cure is (almost) always pink, with the second being blue and the third being yellow. Then at least one new member joins in and they would be either red or purple, with more than one joining in being purple and red. Several other seasons would stray from this pattern. For example, for Suite Pretty Cure, the second pretty cure was white instead. Blue came afterwards and then yellow. For the first season, the first Pretty Cures were black and white. The pattern didn't start till Fresh Pretty Cure, the fourth season. A few would go in a different direction and have their own dynamic such as Yes 5 Pretty Cure and Smile Pretty Cure, with the cures being pink, red/orange, yellow, green and blue. Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure went in a different direction with their being only pink, purple and green, but the other colors were other forms rather than other girls.
