The term mecha (Japanese: メカ, Hepburn: meka) may refer to both scientific ideas and science fiction genres that center on giant robots or machines (mechs) controlled by people. Mechas are typically depicted as humanoid mobile robots. The term was first used in Japanese (meka) after shortening the English loanword mekanikaru ('mechanical'), but the meaning in Japanese is more inclusive, and "robot" (robotto) or "giant robot" is the narrower term.
In various versions, Mecha also sometimes behave like living things like communicate with their masters. For example in the Tokusatsu universe like Super Sentai Series, Mecha aren't ordinary robots but also sentient beings, even some of them were considered as 'gods' example being; Daizyujin, Dragon Caesar, and King Brachion. Another good example for mecha various universe, in the Hero of Robots universe, it was explained in the manga that all the Mecha that appears were indeed an 'alien races'.
