Characters who are amoral are unable to be truly judged by our concepts of right and wrong, or happen to lack a moral sense, thereby being unconcerned with notions of right and wrong. Some of these villains are known to have Moral Agency issues, but all villains with Moral Agency issues belong in this category.
Abstract characters such as Deities fall under this. However, on a terrestrial scale examples of Amoral villains would be:
- Artificial Intelligences that went haywire (e.g. AUTO) or were programmed to be evil (e.g. Star Dream) unlike those with free will (e.g. Skynet).
- Predators guided by instinct (e.g. Sabor) unlike those who find joy in torturing prey (e.g. It).
- Dimwits whose stupidities get out of hand and cause disasters (e.g. Beavis and Butt-head) unlike those who can mostly control themselves (e.g. Toplofty and O'Bloat).
- Demons, Dark Forms and similar forces who only know evil (e.g. The Black Mass) unless it is made clear they have moral agencies (e.g. Bill Cipher).
- Lovecraftian Horrors are amoral at least by human standards (e.g. Azathoth) unless they have such moral agencies (e.g. Nyarlathotep).
- Kids, Teenagers and other Juvenile Delinquents due to their ages or being unaware of who/what they are hurting (e.g. Sid Phillips) except for when they enjoy themselves (e.g. Henry Evans). People who harass others for fun don't count if they clearly enjoy causing others suffering.
- Mentally Insane, Psychotic and/or Dissociative individuals who are not in control of their own actions (e.g. SCP-096) unlike those who are fully aware of what they are doing and their limited views on reality does not justify their actions (e.g. Norman Osborn).
- Individuals are not conforming to archetypes of good or bad (e.g. most versions of Deadpool) and not wishing to be evil. Such characters fall under Chaotic Neutrals. Some might even do more good things than bad things.
- Villains by Proxy who did not choose evil in the first place (e.g. Spinel). However, these don't count if they have some motive for committing crimes that doesn't make them unwilling.
Complete Monster villains NEVER can qualify. While they may be unconcerned with what is right and wrong, they are aware of what is right and wrong but always chooses to do what is wrong. Pure Evils always understands morality as part of their moral agency, and usually take pleasure in their actions. If they don't believe in morality (e.g. Scarlet King), they should go under Knight Templar or Nihilistic Characters instead.
