Cate Dunlap

Cate Dunlap is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Indira Shetty) of Season 1 of the 2023 superhero series Gen V and a minor antagonist in Season 4 of its parent series, The Boys.

She is a popular junior student at Godolkin University and was initially the girlfriend of number one-ranked student, Golden Boy. While not initially a villain, she eventually develops resentment towards non-powered individuals, fueled by the mistreatment she endures from ordinary humans. This resentment escalates, eventually leading her to lead a riot against innocent non-Supes. In the process, she becomes the archenemy of Marie Moreau.

Part 1

Cate alongside Sam are both found by recurited by Victoria Neuman to assist her and the N.Trophies promising a new place in her world when she becomes vice president and when she becomes president. Sam and Cate are hesistant to help a normie, but Neuman says she's a supe just like them as she has the ability to control blood in a person's body. She gets them on her side as she reveals what Vought's new leader Professor Membrane has in mind for them which she discovered.

Neuman really recurited her and other Supes as a way to keep Bender, Slade and their friends from exposing her in part to their history against Vought and how they got Membrane in power. She joins Sam, and Black Noir II to go after Slade's crew and she makes her enterance known by using her powers to put the Warrior Monkey on the wall. Before throwing down with Harrison, Celes and Nasela who try to get the info they found back to the Jolly Roger. She manages to wipe what Naseala and Celes know, but fails on Harrison since he has learned from his deal with Grodd. After departing she infroms Sister Sage of what she had managed to do.

Captain Putty and Zib joined by Sister Sage, Fire Cracker, Black Noir II, Cate and Sam all arrive on the chase for Bender and his team.

Cate and Fire Cracker are questionable that a robot and his friends are that much of a problem to them. Cate especially due to her powers and thinks Vought must have been ran by pinheads if they could lose to them.

Part 2

Captain Putty and Zib meet up with General Z9 who work alongside Cate, Sam, Black Noir II and Firecracker to set a trap for Bender and the others knowing they will arrive here. Z9 has his martians stand by, this gets Putty and Zib's curiousity as they thought Z9 lost his forces, General Z9 had to get them reworked and now he has business with Slade.

Cate and Sam help put the final touches to Putty and Zib's ambushes using their powers to help with Firecracker preparing a GlOCK to go shoot them. Cate, Putty, Sib, Sam, Black Noir II and Fire Cracker finish up and decide to wait.

Libby and Bender decide to take a look around with Bean, Hero, Hailey and Marcy Wu  and they enter a saloon . This is when the doors lock and close down, Hero tells them to save themselves but someone steps on his cape. It's Captain Putty accompanied by Zib who point out how long it's been since they all been together.

When Firecracker addresses how Bender is getting too close to something that can't come out, Libby with her blood hound like instincts says that Neuman sent them didn't she. Cate glares at Firecracker saying that isn't the point to do and she uses her powers on Libby to put her through heck. Bender says that to Hero that confirms it, and hands a helmet to the Captain and Marcy that Wile E made. Bender shoots Sam to distract Cate and then saves Libby.

Captain Hero and Cate fight each other using brain and mind, with Cate trying to sway Hero down with her looks to keep his guard down and using her voice to do so. Hero is a idiot, but his stupidity does assist him in fighting her off and having the helmet prevents Cate from getting in his head or controlling him. He decides to use his own powers to go after her.

Bender, Marcy and Captain Hero are still going as Bean and Hailey have been put down though they have managed to deal with Firecracker, Sam and Black Noir II. Cate is intend to attempt a way to control Hailey and Bean using this with the door breaking down through a lot of water breaking the door down and Cleo arriving with Dale holding up his Gun to shoot them. Cate, Zib and Captain Putty all prepare to engage and with Zib's own chaos bots still. Luan is ready as is Cleo, Wile E and Wendy, Stan changes into his uniform which is the Good Times with Weapons Uniforms and Wendy gives a rather appreciative look at this.

Cleo then join up and helps Captain Hero and Marcy fight Cate who Marcy gives a helmet to avoid Cate getting into her heads as they fight off Cate.

Part 3

Zib and Cate both have made way to Don Eladio's House and Zib is aware that there is security measures that can't allow them to get in. He says that they can use Cate to control someone's mind and then they can make their move. Cate asks Zib who should they consider, Zib notes that Bender is out of the question, but he does have an idea on how, Cate declines Captain Hero, he wasn't even tiliated. Zib says that Cate should just follow what his idea is.

Bean, Marcy Hailey, Stan and Wendy all head off to check and see that it's Cate and Zib who are both outside attempting a break in. The 5 of them decide to fire out at the duo as they try to break in. Hero wakes up Libby who nearly slept through it, as Dale goes to take shots at Cleo to try and break her out of Cate's control. Cleo attacks Dale under Cate's orders though Dale decides on taking her on.

Anti Cosmo, Bender, Luan, Libby, Wile E and Captain Hero all engage off with Zib to protect the force field as Cate tries to keep controlling Cleo with Marcy, Hailey, Dale, Stan and Wendy do their best to break Cate's control. Marcy manages to by firing a arrow at Cate to distract her and then Zib decides to cut his losses after using some techonlogy to keep an even playing field with Anti Comso, Bender, Hero, Wile E, Luan and Libby,

Zib and Cate return to the N.Trophies's base and The N.Trophies ask where they have been. Zib explains he was at a place of Mexico trying to go after his old nemesis and that Cate was joining on him due to being the only other useful person here

Cate said that they were just trying to get a hand on that robot who Zib was after. N.Tropy glances at this and asks if Neuman signed off on it, Cate explains she didn't.  N.Tropy is aware that the robot is associated or was with Cortex, and he took action against CSM with his allies, he does admit Bender will be a problem though it's the kids who still are the main problem. Alternate N.Tropy asks if he will be a threat to their actions to cover up their actions

N.Tropy asks Neuman is Bender aware of anything, Neuman decides to lie to him and say no he isn't knowing he is looking into Team Free WIll with Anti Cosmo. Cate wants to become stronger so she can help take over for Supes. N.Tropy and Alternate N.Tropy decline for the moment not wanting to use heightened power yet in case she turns it on them.

Part 4

N.Tropy and his Alternate Counterpart discover info was leaked into the woods where James Rogers is and the duo decides that they might as well take the opporunity to kill them right then and there. Sister Sage decides to set an attack with the rest of Vought

Cate is given an opporunity to do a task by N.Tropy and Sister Sage in regards to the Woods where Lincoln, Lydia, Will Robinson and Amy are making haste to.

Part 5

This opporunity was to tail the heroes at the Woods so she can get a chance at dealing with The Boys's main allies Anti Cosmo and Bender where she joins Fifi who masterminds the investigation with her and they find Lincoln, Lydia and Enid with them. She fails to try and control Bender with her powers as her powers cannot effect a robot, so she decides to control Enid to do embrassing things and takes control of Fifi's mooks to go after the duo. Bender and Anti Cosmo both fight Cate and place cautious to keep her away from the others, they eventually are lucky to turn her powers on her and control her to just run from them. Cate does reshake this control after they escape and is saved by Fifi from the burning school who says they need to stick together where Cate thanks her and calls her one of the good ones.

Part 6

Cate helps Usurna with her attack on Troll Market and almost wipes the minds of Enid and Max during the attack. She also attempts to do this with Vigilante, Emilia, Mulder and Scully. However the latter is able to break free and help the others escape and manage to force Cate to escape due to the threat of a warhammer, thick werewolf hair and the others being armed with plenty of fire arms having dealt with trolls.

She is also present with her own comcrades where they join up to go after the other heroes. Cate goes after Hero, Bean and the others and with her allies causes a blackout when it comes to Hailey, Cleo and Marcy, though it's left unclear what happened.

Part 7

Cate attacks the group with her allies and tries to distract them for as it turns out to be part of a plan on Sister Sage and Tek Knight to get rid of the group. Cate though has her own designs to use and that her power will be coming in handy at the time when it comes. She is also in part of Tek Knight's plan to invite the boys to the manor as she prepares to put her own plan in motion when it comes to Bender, Slade and The Boys's invite to the manor.
