Peggy Carter is the main protagonist of What If... Captain Carter Were The First Avenger. She is an alternate version of Peggy Carter, tangent from the Earth-199999 universe.
Captain Carter was a member of the military, fighting in World War II, when she became the subject of a serum that transformed her into a super soldier. She fought against HYDRA and the Red Skull, before being transported nearly seventy years forward in the future, through the power of the Tesseract. She eventually joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and later was chosen by The Watcher to form the Guardians of the Multiverse, a team united against the threat of Ultron, a being in possession of the Infinity Stones.

Prologue[]
She and Steve have united and decided to try and settle down respectively, they find themselves going to an orphanage and decide to adopt Lizbeth as a child, as Peggy in the What If is infertatile
Peggy decided on a girl to adopt respectively at the orphanage, and looks at Lizbeth to adopt
Peggy and Steve bring Lizbeth home and Peggy tells Lizbeth she was actually intent to adopt her after what she heard on her.
Chapter 1: The Unknown Solider[]
Steve, Peggy and Scott sent their kids to school for the day as they have something to check up on respectively They end finding Solider Boy who is been released from being a frozen popsicle
Peggy is informed of Solider Boy's escape with Steve and she decides to put to go put a stop to this. She decides to keep Lizbeth from getting too involved in this due to her not being ready yet. Peggy equips her costume and weapons ready to go after Solider Boy with Scott and Steve Rogers. She has Lizbeth stay home as they all head out.
Scott, Peggy and Steve observe Solider Boy and all three of them proceed to go after him Peggy and Steve go after Solider Boy's men respectfully knocking a few out while they're at. Peggy disguises herself as well to fit in better.
She is found by Solider Boy alongside Scott and her husband, and they fight off Solider Boy. Solider Boy threatens their kids and forces them to back down though Carter doesn't and decides to go save the kids. This goes from a possible capture of Solider Boy, to instead having to let him go because her kid was threatened.
Steve doesn't relent and decides to keep it while Carter saves the kids Captain Carter finds the three of them after they defeat Solider Boy's troops and escape
Steve and Peggy call out Lizbeth for being too eager to find stuff out and state that while she could do stuff like this. She has no idea of who this guy really is and doesn't have her usual resources. Though Steve does sympathize with Lizbeth in that she did want to find out about her friends. She, Steve and Scott talk among themselves about what down and they decide they need to think on how to handle what just happened with their kids. Peggy thinks maybe it's time to do something with Lizbeth after these years.
Peggy decides to talk to Lizbeth and she put some thought into what to do in regards to the previous night. She realized for all her knowledge on Lizbeth's heroism, she hasn't exactly being trying to help her get back into it. So Peggy decides she is going to train Lizbeth to become like Peggy and Steve.Steve tells her the following night that Lizbeth was abducted by Solider Boy's men. She decides to go looking for her daughter and takes the two avengers with her. She agrees with Steve in that Kate could use this time to show to them what Kate sees in her daughter as well as the Lang Daughter
Peggy comments on Solider Boy's compliancy in keeping the same hideout as they find him rather easilly as they storm his hideout once again. The 5 of them get into Solider Boy's base and they all go to do their job which Solider Boy notices and sends his soliders after them
Cassie gets Lizbeth and Jack back to them which relieves Steve, Peggy and Scott. With the former two admitting they were so scared for her after learning about this. Peggy and Steve tell the other to leave as they decide they need to deal with Solider Boy himself.
Solider Boy arrives and asks where the girl is, and Peggy states he'll get her over their dead bodies and they fight him.
The three all fight with each other to stop Solider Boy, their fight is pretty much even matched between them, Though Solider Boy tries to get them to stand down by threatening to kill Steve, for that imposter comment. Peggy refuses to do so, though Lizbeth and Cassie show up and knock him cold. She wants to be more stern to Lizbeth for not listening to her but seems proud that Lizbeth showed such resistance
This confirms that Peggy is serious about wanting to train Lizbeth and she has Steve call Kate about this. As she will get her about this.
Chapter 2: Past, Present and Future Unite[]
She and Steve find out that Scott was attacked by Solider Boy and get the messagePeggy has Steve call Cecil to learn about this as she is decides to observe Solider Boy and wait for his move. She sees that he has recruited a good deal of allies to help out
Peggy goes to the high school to pick up Lizbeth and Cassie in part.Ren and Kelly decide to come along, though she is reculant, Ren convinces her upon telling her why he's here.
Lizbeth, Cassie, Ren and Kelly meet Jack and Kate with Peggy and they head into the headquarters. Where they meet Cecil, Tech E, Felciity Smoak, Betty and Freakzoid, with the former briefing them about the events.
She and Steve help Kelly, Antman, Tech E, Freakzoid and Cecil take on Solider Boy's men too.Steve and Peggy are in touch with Lizbeth, Ren and Betty as they talk to the former as she has believe Lizbeth can do this as Cecil knows she can, though he has his doubts.
Captain Carter discusses matters with Cecil and the others on what is going on
Lizbeth with the others bring up Vought and Solider Boy's possible connection to them. Carter and Steve deduct Solider Boy's intent is take Lizbeth away from him and mold her to be like him and to a have more successful understudy compared to that son of his.
The Group makes a pit stop to the outside, basically escaping lockdown, Peggy talks with Lizbeth and Ren with Steve about the situation. Colonel Kit Coyote and the Sergeant are waiting telling Solider Boy as he works with Simon Sinister intend to also harvest Cassie's DNA to use in the suits he has which Sharon took from the Pym Family. She hears the word Carter and she is devastated to an member of her own family is working for Solider Boy
Peggy and Steve go after Stryker and Elling who are have the metahuman DNA within Cassie and fight them. This leads to their capture though and has them brought to Soldier Boy.
Peggy is kept away from her husband, and she sees that she will be operated on. Not wanting any part of it, she decides to try and get out and upon learning that Lizbeth and her friends are there she needs a trick and fast.
Captain Carter though quick and bided her time to basically get her self and she talked some sense into the Sergeant who basically decided to turn the tables on Solider Boy.Lizbeth and Ren dressed as guards enter and she is freed as She thought and she thought quickingly though Lizbeth states she would have do so too.The three then go looking for Steve and get a radio in by Kate.
A brainwashed Steve arrives to go after him, Lizbeth and Peggy. Peggy decides to go deal with him while they find Solider Boy. Sharon Carter and Solider Boy however ambush this and disarm Ren with Sharon holding him with Solider Boy approaching Lizbeth about his generous proposition. Sharon reveals herself to her aunt and Peggy wants to know why do this, why join Solider Boy and Peggy hears the brutal truth from her niece.
She recovers enough from the shock to tell Lizbeth not to fall for this and that SB will use him.
Captain Carter eventually breaks Steve out of mind control and they get their daughter to safety. Then they work with Lizbeth and Ren to bring Solider Boy down. In turn Peggy prepares to take him in but he escapes. That being said Peggy does report this to the authorites and with Commander Mcbragg get the villains court marshaled
However she suspects this isn't the end of Solider Boy and Payback 2.0
Chapter 3: Solider Boy's Final Stand[]
She arrives with the others, and is just glad that the kids are okayLizbeth tells Peggy about her niece becoming like her and how Sharon states that Lizbeth will be like her eventually and this shook her
Peggy reassures Lizbeth she is nothing like Sharon or how she turned out. She knows that from all the years she and Steve took to raise Lizbeth as their own.
As it's not safe to do anything where they are, the group on Larke's ideas decide to head to the northern multiverse .Ren, Cassie, Kate, Steve and Peggy comfort Lizbeth about it and the latter two were trying to figure out how to tell her
She can relate that when something like this happens, you can find out you lost everyone you ever loved and wake up in a new world. Peggy has a thought if Soldier Boy is dealing with some kind of culture shock
She considers something as she decides to take on the soldiers Solider Boy sent after. Outside Blue Falcon's lair, she comes face to face with Sharon Carter her niece and calls her out on giving her morality for power and money. Sharon doesn't care, she lost everything and now she's making a place for herself in the world.
Captain Carter and Steve take on Sharon Carter. Despite what has happened, Peggy is out to detain Sharon as she is still family to her even as she hears Steve's fallout with her in regards to Civil War. When other super soldiers arrive. Peggy and Steve work together to detain them which is a trap by Solider Boy to kidnap Lizbeth.
Peggy, Steve and Scott learn of Lizbeth's abduction and Cassie and Ren tell them that they will get her and to trust Cassie as they aren't kids and have had some experience with this.
Peggy notices the ray gun shot and starts to worry and goes on her way to save them, but Cecil stops her saying that is something they need to handle themselves. Peggy does at least call for a safer way to get them back which Tawna is glad to provide.
Upon seeing her kid, she feels Lizbeth can do more than she thought and should keep up the good work.
Chapter 4[]
Peggy and her husband work to prepare something for her kid when Betty arrives to warn them about the Lord Commander and his invasion against them. She joins the action against the aliens, though finds herself in a bad spot like the others as they weren't ready for this. Not because of being lazy, but because of how unprepared they were to deal with this.
She recovers her allies and they brief how to deal with this, where she has to make the painful decision to let her kid and the others head to Japan to keep themselves safe from Lord Commander as she knows if they stay, then there won't be a future for any of them.
Chapter 6: The Arrival of Earth X[]
Peggy is thawed again respectfully and meets with Eliza, she is a bit shocked to see her kid after so long. She and Steve take joy in raising her again, though they do keep their distance slightly due to her being older. She and Steve learn of the arrival of Earth X, i.e Nazis and leaves to get Cecil on this. They also learn what happened with Eliza's other friends and works to deal with Dark Arrow and his guys.
She manages to successfully keep Dark Arrow from succeeding in finding the Tesseract which she and Steve know about.
Chapter 7: X Marks the Spot[]
Peggy and Steve both show up with Eliza and her friends as they follow Cecil, Commander Airlock and Larke Tanner to get the Reality Stone from Malakeith respectfully. As Steve is familiar with the stones he manages to explain the uninitiated what he knows on them. Through tribulations and a lot of dealings with Dark Arrow, they are successful in retrieving another stone.
Chapter 8: Earth X's Last Stand[]
Through Cassie and Noir's look into the Realm, Peggy puts it together that their travels allowed the group to find more on to the stones remaining. With Steve, Peggy found the Power Stone and decide to send the others to retrieve it, while she keeps the New Reich at bay. Peggy warns Eliza and the others to not get carried away, as she trusts Eliza and her friends to handle this case themselves. While trying to get a locale on The Soul Stone, she and the others discover Felicity has some of the Infinity Stones power within her as she has been taking some of the power to make herself stronger to beat Dark Arrow. Peggy isn't so sure on this being good of an idea though understands Felicity just wants to keep herself safe as a target of prejudice from people like Dark Arrow.
This manages to also be alerted to Dark Arrow and his group, Carter manages to hold off most of the New Reinscmen, but loses Felicity to A Speedster. They decide to go searching for her as well figuring what they know and how Dark Arrow will use her. She distracts the New Reinsmen's soldiers and allows the heroes to get the shards of the stones. Upon receiving it, Steve and his friends destroy the shards of the Duplicate Infinity Stones proud that Eliza didn't give into the powers of them or her own friends.

Book 3: Culmination[]
Captain Carter meets Lizbeth's old pals and upon being told of the situation helps out with the others in trying to find some way to get around what N.Tropy is planning. N.Tropy and Alternate N.Tropy almost manage to strand the others in the timeline respectfully, until Captain America and Peggy use the Quantum Tunnel with the Pym Stones and stay behind to fight N.Tropy and his forces being killed as a result. Though they both die knowing Lizbeth and her friends will go to stop N.Tropy
