Captain Byron Hadley is a supporting antagonist in the 1982 Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption and the secondary antagonist of its 1994 film adaptation The Shawshank Redemption.
He is the sadistic, corrupt head guard of Shawshank Prison, and the Warden's second-in-command.
He was portrayed by Clancy Brown,

Act 1[]
Episode 1[]
As a sadistic and corrupt law enforcer, he is enticed to work alongside the Cartel to insure he can have his way and be paid to do
Byron Hardley alongside Chief of Police report to Don Bolsa when it comes to Slade's allies crew heading into Chinatown as they kept track of the party all arriving there and the two corrupt cops decide to keep track of any other possible actions engaged at by the others opposing Don Eladio and his Cartel.
Episode 2[]
Byron and Chief of Police end up working with Professor Chang, Glowface, Lorenzo, Titan, Riff Raff and Nasty Canasta in their operations to get more money to the Don. He though decides with Chief of Police to find a way to bring the heroes in and after Don Bolsa and The Cousins decaptivate Tortuga for snitching, Hardley engineers a plan to get the group arrested after checking the laws and decides to engage though Bolsa instructs him that the targets are the traitors Nacho Varga and Captain Hero. He agrees and once the bomb goes off, he and Chief of Police arrive to arrest the others, though he almost forgets to arrest Captain Hero, though he manages to get Hero arrested using his people's weakness which Bolsa and Chang provided for him.
Episode 3[]
He and The Chief throw Captain Hero in his cell and report to the warden about Hero's Capture. They are then instructed to bring Hero in a special room which he does and then they leave and keep track of the rest of the prisoners. Hadley waits in front of Hero's cell to insure he doesn't try anything funny and due to what happened with Hero, he is no mood to do so.
He and The Chief are decieved by Nacho and The Space Bandits and locked in a prison cell under certain distractions so they can break Captain Hero out. When this happens he aplogizes to the Warden for letting him escape. Norton lets it slide as he has what he wants and that Hadley can afford to make mistakes like this due to his track record.
Episode 4[]
The Cops decide to go looking for Nacho Varga to bust him for the actions he did to get Hero, he is also alerted of the Vending Machines destrucitons at the hand of the heroes and notes that Hero is acting among them as Chief of Police is a bit distracted dealing with his other officer. He is next seen when Malcolm and Guzma are brought into jail and Hadley brings them into their cells on orders of Warden Norton after what happened with Captain Hero.
Episode 5[]
Hadley and his fellow cops arrive on the scene to Midas and MIlton is aware the evidence might be piling up on him for his actions as Bender and his friends are discovering his actions and suspecting him. But he also has noted some others are catching on to his plans and sends Hadley and his other cops to go after anyone who has any evidence on him.
Episode 6[]
Hadley goes after Bean, Elfo and Luci in Ponyville Farms. Hadley attempts to arrest them. Without anyone holding him back, he decides to administer a beat down on her, Elfo and Luci which he managed to do for a while with his baton though Elfo and Bean both manage to stab him a bit though it doesn't deter him too much and when Luci manages to drive him off they leave back. He is also seen to be mad at Pablo for letting his men just be killed by Merlyn and Guzma. He and Norton both decide to just let Pablo go as his plans didn't work and that if they need something done, they might as well do it themselves.
Act 2[]
Episode 7[]
He is on guard duty that night with the other cops as they are guarding Merlyn and Guzma's cells and is caught flat flooted by Celes, Captain Hero and the others and go after them. Hadley is tied up by Bean who keeps them at bay so Luan and Harry can get the two out. Hadley is then eventually released by the Warden and is given an order to see what the bunnies and Doug know
Hadley beats Doug, Bunny and Claude trying to find out what they sold out to the heroes and shows frustration when they say nothing or in the case of Bunny taunt him. He questions if they knew about the break in on their cell which they have no idea about.
Episode 8[]
Hadley and the other cops begin to make a direct search for the group that bailed out their captives. Though Luan and the others avoid them, for now. Hardley and the cops eventually find and try to basically arrest them only for them to escape later, though Norton shows confidence that their other men will kill them instead.
Episode 9[]
Hadley assists the other cops in tailing Bean and her friends to try and prevent her and Slade's other associates from discovering Professor Chang is the cuplrit. Using his sniper skills he manages to snipe and dassle some of Slade's other allies and is able to captute of Slade's muscle men for their usage while preparing to build an arrest case against Slade and Bender.
Episode 11[]
Midas annoyed by the lack of efficency of the police decides to have Byron and Officer Affable bring in Yates and The Chief of Police in so he can terminate their contacts with him. The two officers bring the other two to Midas as Warden Norton, Frank Underwood and Doug Stamper decides to keep his eyes on the heroes at the auction. Hadley then brings in Yates to jail and puts him away with Anton's say so.
Episode 12[]
Hadley and the cops arrive with the intent to arrest Bender and his friends for withholding envidence and if wasn't for Officer Affable this would have worked and he helps cover Midas kidnap Gosalyn.
Act 3[]
Episode 13[]
Midas, Gavin, Norton and Hadley all decide to get a possible operation up to work in case the heroes try to do anything as they decide to set up a new operation through the business.
Episode 14[]
He is sent with the rest of the cops to go after the heroes in Russia when it comes to Soldier Boy as well as what the others are doing to prove G-Lo's Innocence.
Episode 15[]
With Captain Putty, he was attempting to bring Dib, Lizbeth and the others to Midas and that they were unable to find them, though Midas has another plan of his own to lure them to him.
Episode 16[]
Reluctantly, he has to cave in to the heroes's demand and release G-LO after she was deemed innocent

Hadley is arrested and placed in jail after his crimes assisting the Warden and The Cartel are revealed.
