Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen is the main antagonist in the film Back to the Future Part III. An outlaw living in the latter half of the 19th century, he lived around Hill Valley, California. Tannen was the great-grandfather of Biff. He hates being called Mad Dog and has a temper to match. Like Biff he has quite a temper to match.

Buford is an ally of Dukat and was brought to the future from the past mirroring the opposite with Dukat. He goes into town and is spotted by Lydia and Louise. He intimidates Cas and his friends and Castiel takes no shit and calls him Mad Dog. Angered Buford uses angel killing bullets to make Cas dance who hums "Billy Jean" then throws wine at him. Angered he chases them and hangs Diaval though Doc saves him and Burford threatens to kill him. Buford escapes back to his quarters to Evil Carl and GBF Jr who are ambushed by Cas and his friends as they use a giant robot. After destroying Buford tries to escape but Lydia catches him with a rope thus thinking what is going to happen to him now. Buford is interrogated by Jack Bauer and Jack tries to kill him but Bender, Skipper, Suede, Connor, Knuckles and Jesse stop this and he tells the Apples of Eden is Dukat's. Buford with his allies get involved against The Omega League and lose his live with them to Cruger's friends.
