Blaine is a Gyme Leader of the Kanto region. He is the seventh Gym Leader that the player needs to challenge. If they were to beat him, then he'll give them the Volcano Badge. He makes his home on Cinnabar Island and is the only Gym Leader in Kanto to reside on an island rather than a town.
Blaine is known as the riddle master. In the game, his gym consists of questions that the player needs to answer to make their way to him.
In the anime, the island was reduced to a tourist destination. Due to the island being in major demands for tending to tourists, his gym was shut down. Ash and his friends, however, were able to find where Blaine set up his gym: within a volcano. He had also remained in disguise throughout their entire stay all the way up to when they were able to find the Gym. From there, he revealed his identity.
Ultimate Story[]
Blaine, incognito, was able to help the group find the location to portal that would take them to Samus' Gym.
