Beedrill

Beedrill (Japanese: スピアー Spear) is a dual-type Bug/Poison Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the evolved form of Kakuna. It is a major reason why you must never disturb a hoard of Kakunas. They can evolve very quickly at level 10.

Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest—this is for their own safety. If angered, Beedrills will attack in a furious swarm. This Pokemon has three poisonous stingers on its forelegs and its tail. They are used to jab its enemy repeatedly.

It is the final form of Weedle. It can Mega Evolve into Mega Beedrill using the Beedrillite.

Its name is a combination of bee and drill, emphasizing on its needle-like arms.

Its Japanese name, スピアー Spear, refers to its stingers. Funny enough, the reverse of that name is アピス Apis, the genus for the honey bee.

Ultimate Story

Beedrills made their first appearance in the Journey Through Kanto. During the group's journey through the forest, a dark entity manipulated the Beedrills to attack them constantly, causing them to delay their journey. Fortunately, they were able to leave the forest and didn't have to worry about them anymore.

Daisy is known to own a Beedrill of her own. It is the only one of her Pokemon that she can Mega Evolve.
