Axew is a Dragon-type Pokemon that marks its territory by leaving gashes in trees with its tusks. If a tusk breaks, a new one grows in quickly.
Axew also uses its tusks to crush the berries it eats. Repeated regrowth makes its tusks strong and sharp.
Axew evolves into a Fraxure and then into Haxorus.
Its name may be a combination of axe and chew or hew, which means to chop a material with a tool.
